That's truly an amazing app, the exercises are great ! But I really really wish there was an option in the rhythm exercises where you could disable the "progress bar" or whatever you wanna call it that highlights the note when it's time to play it, because it makes it too easy and you tend to focus on it, even unconsciously and in the end it trains your eyes more than your ear which is a shame Note to the devs : If you fix that I will be forever grateful ;) (And I'll give you 5 stars)

An amazing app for training the ear and for learning music theory in an easy and fun way. As a self taught musician I used to be very intimidated by anything theory related, but this app has made me obsessed with it. It's amazing everything we have access to for free. The only problem I found is in the rhythm exercises: there's lagging in the playback which makes the exercises impossible unless you turn off the audio playback in the settings. (which works fine once disabled)

This app will not make you a music virtuoso, and the theory materials are quite light in my opinion (enough for beginners though), but it's the perfect training companion if you're learning music. And the premiul version is packed with a goodies at a very affordable price, I have tried it and recommend it. PS: Could we get a playground mode where you can write, play and save bits of music scores? Would help us get even more familiar with music notation

So intuitive. I ended up by bought everything in the app. I really progress through my daily utilisation. Keep in mind that you have to use it every day to see a real change. The application goes with your practise with the piano ; results is not to near. I hardly recommend !

Amazing App and trainer!! When trying to find an ear training app, Perfect Ear was in the top 10 for 2022. The reason I chose Perfect Ear is because the only Con (negative aspect of the app) was that there was so much content (I wanted all the information lol) that it was easy to get overwhelmed. I found with the free guided courses Perfect Ear offers within it, I disagree that someone could get overwhelmed! Pick a topic and there are step by step, beginner, intermediate and advanced lesson :)

This app ia a game changer! Thanks to it, I'm a better musician. There are however some features like the note singing that are not very precise but, it does the job well enough. I mainly use it for the interval identification and chord inversion sections and I'm very pleased with the overall quality of the exercises. There are however some issues that take away from the excitement of using the app. For instance, after I finish an exercise, the average time displayed at the end is never right!

Perfect Ear is good but not good enough. There isn't enough data. I want more! Also of greater concern is that once on a page for example Intervals on my Google Pixel 4XL there are no icons whatsoever to navigate off of the page. I have to shut down my phone and restart up then re access this app. Why?

While the learning curve of this app is quite step in the beginning, it is extremely useful and after some getting used to it, it's also super easy. Kudos to the Perfect Ear team

PUT "SUNRISE TO SUNSET" ON the dark mode, thanks! Good app to practice music. Suggestion: please make a website so we can practice on other devices. Like Duolingo. Also can you make your streak count more serious? it's so easy to miss a day, the app doesn't give enough motivation.

Great app. Definitely 5 stars. More power in the customisation would be great. A little bit of decay on the piano modelling would sound nicer. Adding a sing the chord area from a fixed note would also be great.

Incredible app! Its customization is far beyond any other application I've tried. It does everything Earmaster does at a fraction of the price, and has the option to completly customize your own lessons.

This app is great for ear training, especially with the premium feature of using custom exercises. I'm glad this app keeps getting updated too, the UI looks a little bit better every once in a while. My biggest problem with this app though, is that, for being an ear training app, the sound they use is kind of weird. It's this low quality, like toy piano "ding", which I think makes the ear training worse. Having more options would be nice, especially since it's a music training app.

This is an awesome app. It really pointed out the weaknesses in my ear and helped me to improve. In one exercise I started at 30% and kept practising and repeating the exercise until I got up to 100%. I still have work to do to improve the speed of recognition but this app makes it easy to repeat exercises until you've mastered them. The singing exercises are also very revealing! But it is all worth the effort to improve my musical ear.

I'm trying to teach myself piano/to read music without much time or budget and I appreciate this app so much! No feeling like you're being rushed through a video-game of inane songs. It's elegant, intuitive and satisfying doing the exercises, so the learning can happen really naturally. Free version was great and the extras were really good value. Thanks for designing such a high quality app, I can't fault it! I use it everyday like a little meditation practice and it's exactly what I needed 😍

It is a very good app with a hell of a lot of useful features. Unfortunately the midi guitar sounds atrocious, and there are no customisation options to address that (unlike with the piano). As I'm using both, it's not a big deal, but something I would love to see addressed and improved in future.

So far its good and enjoyable, only complaint is that the keyboard samples have inconsistent velocity. This results in some lower notes having more overtones, giving them a brighter sound, whereas some higher notes don't have those overtones, and so they sound warmer. Isn't really a huge issue, but it can be confused when doing the interval exercises.

Con. G. May 17, 2022

Frustrated with custom lessons settings. I can't find a way to choose what root notes are used for interval singing. I want to control exactly what root notes are used. I want to be able to only sing intervals from A, for instance, and I can't find a way to do this.

Dou. S. Dec 26, 2021

A great backbone for an app, but perhaps a little ambitious? Some issues include interval training in very low ranges, complex rhythms played only once, latency on tapping exercises, and what seems to be issues with temperement: p5 sounding muddy (could be my phone). Some of these are fairly easy fixes that can easily turn the app from good to great. As it stands it is more of a punishment than actual ear training. Simpler would have been better on many of the exercises, which is frustrating.

Coming into this with very little music theory knowledge. Gave me a great understanding, with easy to follow exercises to really train your ear. I'm sure a lot of apps do a good job, but I definitely think this one is great. Also, uses a guitar fretboard, which helps for us guitarists. I enjoyed it so much I paid for the full version. Try it out. The free version has plenty to get you started to see if you like it.

Wish the guitar sounds more guitar.. And the voicing of 7th chords on guitar is also very weird, hope the devs can change the voicings to the way how we usually play those chords Other than that this is a good app for ear training

Joa. P. Apr 21, 2022

The pitch trainer says I choose wrong then after all attempts shows that I failed and my first option was the correct one anyway. Other than that, great app.

Don't know where to write about a bug, so I'll write it here. Note singing trainer doesn't refresh the note I sang before (the soundfile of my singing) and the app compares it with the next note I need to sing. So it gives an instant mistake when I'm trying to sing the current note, because it compares my previous note that I sang (the soundfile that was stored in the app) with the current note I need to sing. Hope I explained it correctly.

Incredibly thorough theory training app. Lessons are progressive and challenging. Very useful in learning the fundamentals of how music works.

Iva. K. May 20, 2022

It reminds me when i was study at music vocational high school. The level design is good. Its all simply explained in the app all about theory.

Rus. Y. Apr 25, 2022

Even when you sing the note perfect and it shows you right on the note it will say you're wrong 🤦‍♂️. And why is there no option to sing a note without hearing it? The only option is to replicate a note after hearing it, or an interval from the played note.

Cli. B. Dec 22, 2021

It is actually a nice app, but it'd be really super helpful if after you lost the app or get a new phone you'll be able to continue from where you stopped rather than having to start all over, maybe just brush through the previous things and continue so if it can save progress levels maybe by sync with like gmail it'd be nice. Thank you

Mik. N. Apr 30, 2022

Amazing! It took me over 20 years to realize the key to being the best guitarist possible was through listening and singing and this app does it all.

Kar. B. Mar 29, 2022

This is exactly what I was looking for. Helps me practice my note reading, my timing and learn theory. I don't usually buy apps, but I just paid to get the premium because I liked the free version and wanted more.
