Periscope - Live Video

I've realised this app is very slow and glitchy for Android users and that whenever there is a new update, it doesn't come as an option to update the way it does for iPhone users. Also Android users with phones like Samsung A3 doesn't work properly and it's really annoying. iPhone users don't really have these kind of problems. Please fix this, if these things weren't an issue then this would be a fun app to use and interact with- however it is kind of difficult when the app acts up. Thank you.

Every time I try to call in on other live broadcasts or invite calls into my live broadcasts- the app freezes up and crashes, completely closing me out. I have tried over 15 times and I get the same result. This is VERY annoying because I enjoy this app, but its a huge let down when it isn't performing as advertised. If this cannot be solved, I will no longer use Periscope all together. App is great otherwise, my rateing will go up to 5 star if this issue can be fixed. I use an android phone.

This app has not kept up with improvements in the industry. For instance, you can only search for broadcasts based on text that is only in the TITLE of the broadcast, not based on the name of the broadcaster. Also, it's difficult to move forward or backward in a completed broadcast by user-specified seconds. Only a slider is provided and it's very difficult to use. Some apps let you double-tap, which is very convenient.

Fix what's wrong! Lately lots of ghosting, meaning when I send messages no one can read them, lots of people having this issue. I had to create another account just to switch back and forth when this happens, very annoying! Can you guys add a resume feature, meaning if I watch a replay and have to exit out at minute 8:35 I can come back and resume at that same exact spot, please. And finally on Android I cannot see top fans anymore, fix that issue please, thank you.

Great app. Use it all the time. My only complaint is that when you are looking at other peoples "following" lists, if you go to follow one person from their list it send yoy back to the very top. Some people follow hundred of profiles and having to scroll down to where you were each time you select to follow a profile is very irritating. I find a lot of new people looking through who other people follow with similar interests. So this is the only issue.

Nothing new. Like the idea don't like the controls. Disappearing and alternate controls (live vs past streams) is SO annoying. For instance holding & dragging would navigate playback but can make you "accidentally" send hearts when you don't want to, and no takebacks. Same goes for a screen wake on a long stream. Controls should be dedicated ESPECIALLY feedback ones, I mean I can reverse or just take back thumbs up or down on other platforms. Don't think it's an issue? Look it up on the forums.

After an update about two months ago, I'm unable to interact with single line messages anymore. Further updates have not fixed this. Tapping on a message should bring up the window to reply, report, or mute when you're a mod, as well as let you open the person's profile. Since the update, if the persons chat is only one line long, tapping does not open this window. If it is two or more lines, you can open it. Additionally, the mods "swipe to mute" doesn't work on single line comments. Galaxy S10

It doesn't run in the background on Android. How presumptuous to monopolize the screen and assume you have all my attention? fix it, please, as you've done for iOS. still not fixed. I hate running in split screen mode. most content is not visual. Let audio run in the background.

iPhone and Android don't have the same features. The app has become so laggy, most of the time it is impossible to watch a stream because it constantly buffers. Not all comments in the chat show up. The latter has been an issue for MONTHS and still no solution. You have to do better than that!

After updating this app recently, active scopes are still not appearing on the map. This has been happening for a few months now. I am using wifi plus internet connection on my phone so I know my connection is good. After reading through the reviews, it appears that there are way too many negative issues with this app. Developers need to fix the issues.

It buffers too much. Freezes. Sometimes you don't receive notifications. Please make this app better. Sometimes we can't read comments because they get reported sometimes when they say nothing wrong. Or there are a certain amount of people on a scope and it gives an incorrect amount. And it's pretty so some time. Would be a great app with improvements.

This is a good app, but when ever I watch any replay a few seconds it blurs through the whole replay and I can't watch the replay for that whole time. And also how can I find the face filters to play with on the scope. And could there also be channels for things so your not just looking for random brodcast, if the brodcaster wants, so there could be something that's just the regular colem of brodcasts and then the channels on it.

Second rate citizens on Android. Two years later and no background audio? Give us picture in picture or background audio or both. No reason something I'm listening to should take over my whole phone. Even apple is getting rid of phone calls taking over the whole screen. I have the note. It's designed for multitasking. I'm in the car listening and it's 95 degrees outside, screen on bright AF with my phone getting hotter and hotter. Let me minimize.

I tried to set this up for as specific event, for a specified group of people, all on different devices and operating systems. It's such an absolutely unintuitive mess - people getting a Whatsapp link that did nothing but install the app, and even as we tried to troubleshoot further gave a black screen (whilst others could see OK?!?). People on Hangouts just getting the app installed via the link, but nop connection or notifications of the live stream. As the person trying to stream, adding people to the group I'd set up was a pain - why couldn't I just add any email address and send a link which after clicking it just worked?? An excruciatingly painful experience that I gave up on.

With this new feature that allows your users to call in, introduced a whole new set of bugs, the bihgest complaint I have right now is, the the feature doesnt work with bluetooth headphones, I do not understand why but they don't. the second biggest bug is that, for Android Users, when somebody calls in on my broadcasts, majority of the time I'm not able to hear them when they talk. when Im viewing another person's life I cant hear the people that call in after me...

When I try to log in my profile a random web page error comes up for no reason. I tried to sign up a new account, but it didn't work and eventually the same error pops up every time I try to open the app. I'm nor sure that developers are even fixing the app, I suppose they just gave up on it. But the review just required to be here so here it is.

The app icon goes to report or ok. I ran the april update and what it does allows me to watch live when live drops in from top of the screan. The computer access is working. It could also be the android cpu on this phone is burning its memory ram and lower the power processor within the phone. In conjunction with very high usage of the app and other apps using its diagnostics.

Over two and a half months later, the app is still completely broken on Pixel 3 devices. No updates, no bug fixes, the same black screen with no audio or video when trying to load a stream. This app is in a totally useless state right now.

Until CASTING ability is added to this app I cannot rate it any higher than this. It's a simple feature that should be added to any and all video type apps. You're just being selfish and limiting our ability to use OUR OWN device/s to fullest 🤳 by not having this COMMON FEATURE. Get with the program, it's 20/20 and casting is commonplace!

The app is very buggy. Search doesn't work. I can't view group invite requests. There's no way to report it block without actually viewing (which means you have to look at disturbing content sometimes). Someone can add you to 200 groups and you can't remove yourself from all, because it rate-limits that. Video counts don't match video numbers. If you subscribe to someone's follower on their profile, it scrolls you back to the top every time, so it's hard to quickly follow friends of friends.

Can't communicate with anyone. Need to force close the app and even restart the phone on occasion in order to get out of the app. I shouldn't need to do either of those things. Also drained 46% of a fully charged battery in under 25 minutes. Definitely uninstalling until it gets resolved.

After almost two years, I can honestly say that I've noticed the improvements the team has made to improve the app. I appreciate the continued effort to keep this relevant. However there is simply one thing I've noticed that makes me wanna delete the app. Can we PLEASE, get a choice between receiving seperate notifications for our groups? I'm in almost 300 groups & my phone is CONSTANTLY going off. Make a way for me to mute my groups, but still recieve notifications from the people I follow. Thx

It keeps freezing. Everytime I go to watch a periscope, I'll be able to watch a few seconds of it, then it just freezes. I have to constantly back out and go back in to watch it. That's so annoying. I'll just stick to YouTube. I dont ever have any problems watching videos on YouTube. Not sure what's going on with periscope. It's a shame. It seemed like it was a good app.

I honestly love this app, but, everytime I stream my mic is suppressed. I was informed the last update was suppose to fix it, and my mic works fine on every other platform. I'm also running the newest Android version.... please help. Periscope help center wont even reply on twitter...... Update : mic problems were an issue with my phone. Everything's good now on side of some viewers, but that's a people issue, not an app issue

My rate would be higher, if the app's version for Android had the Picture-in-Picture function, possibility to start a transmission without video (sound only) and categorization, so users could find a stream by their interests. My explanation of such idea - before starting a transmission, you get to choose one of the categories (for example, "news", "sports", "just talking" etc.). It would help me (and others users, I suppose) find a stream related to want they want to experience. 1 star for ban.
