I left a review yesterday and apparently it got deleted... wow. I rated this app 1 star because some of the balances are wildly inaccurate and their support is unresponsive. For example, the balance it shows for my auto loan changes daily, which makes no sense because the balance on the loan only changes when I make my monthly payment. It is off by THOUSANDS. It has messed up all the charts and makes this app totally pointless.
I was never able to get past the account verification screen on a fresh install of the app. I selected verification by text but immediately received the error pop-up "Incorrect code from text". (I was never given the opportunity to enter a code to begin with) I then selected verification by phone call but after a few moments was given an "unable to verify" pop-up message. After several attempts, I received the following message.... "For your security, your account is now locked" Not impressed.
I used to love this app but it had continuously gone down hill. Accounts take forever to update, if they update at all, which makes things very inaccurate. I used to use it everyday, now I use it maybe once or twice a month, just to see what it's going to say. I don't rely on this app for accuracy anymore.
This is a really neat app. I would rate it higher than Mint if it could link to more types accounts. For accounts that can't be linked, it would be nice if you could manually add your transactions for the account not just the balance.
For a free budgeting app it's very handy, integrates with your bank, loans and investment accounts and does it all mostly automatic. The only difficult thing for me is manually changing expense categories and duplicate charges. Also, the reconnecting of accounts works seamlessly sometimes and stalls out other times, I also noticed it depends on the bank or account. USAA has a bit of trouble whereas my local bank never had a problem. Overall, great app, saves me a lot of time.
Functional, love the reporting, great how the app makes getting the data easy and painless. I wish it were able to drag for historical data - like previous year statements from bank or 401k.
Can no longer adjust date range in the app. Hard to get a bigger picture when it only shows me the last 90 days. Edit: Had to go into menu and select "Cash Flow". From there the option to adjust date range is accessible. Then when I backed out and selected individual accounts, the ability to adjust the date range reappeared.
I can't even get into the app. It askes for a PIN, yet it never asked me to set up a pin or password. It also says Authorization Required, but again, it didn't go through ANY set up. POOR App!
So to begin with this app is 5 stars when it's working correctly. However, the last few months I've not been able to link anything; specifically M1 Finance. And transactions aren't updating with the ones I do have linked. I hope you guys can get this figured out soon because I like the app and I don't want to have to switch to an alternative. Although the waiting does have me looking. (edited) Took another star away just because of how long these issues have been going on with no fixes.
Won't let me link fundrise or any other accounts it just stalls. I removed old bank accounts it's still showing them and keeps syncing those old accounts after I removed them and added new banks etc. Stalls on my loan accounts too. This could be good if the accounts wouldn't stall and would link. For this I give it 1 star. I can't centralize all my accounts here which is what they advertise
This is mobile app is well made and very convenient. By giving the option to link all accounts, it saves on the time to input all transactions!
Great way to see your financial picture all in one spot, see areas for improvement and focus, and fine tune things that are going well!
App used to be great before an increasing number of accounts became unable to sync and tech support either refuses to help or I just wait for weeks. Whereas Mint has no issues and syncs all accounts just fine
Holdings inside of Ally Invest accounts are categorized as cash, rather than the individual stocks. This makes it completely useless for analyzing your portfolio. I've had a support ticket open for this issue for over a year and have been told twice that the issue was resolved, when in fact it wasn't. I do not trust their engineering team, and advise anyone to think twice before trusting your data with this company.
Lots of issues syncing accounts and I've looked and looked for "support" email and cannot find. I've had 1 bank account hasn't synced in a year and another very common account no longer syncs. There is no option to refresh or sync these accounts. 2 months since that review. Now it is Jan 2022 and no reply to my support request. Finally found how to contact support with detailed info...well buried in the app.
Fingerprint unlock never works. The option on settings is available but it's never prompted me to unlock with a finger print. I have to type in my password each time .
I want so badly for this app to actually work. It used to, and it was amazing, but now it never updates accounts. Have to relink them every login. Customer service is just a loop of the same advice. "Follow these instructions to reauthorize your accounts" like I'm some kind of idiot. I have accounts that haven't been updated in an actual calendar year. Very frustrating.
It turns out that Personal Capital does not allow usernames or passwords for external sites to be longer than 40 characters. There is no reason for this artificial limit, especially with financial credentials.
Having to repeatedly sync my accounts manually. At times I have to delete the accounts and sync them multiple times. Then there's also an issue where the app keeps saying try again when trying to sync accounts. Used to be a good app now it's not.
The app worked well up until the most recent update. The most recent update forces you to verify a captcha everytime you go to sign in. This is extremely inconvenient and annoying. I set it up to use biometrics for convenience, but with this update, it doesn't make it any easier to sign in. I want it to revert back to the old way it was.
