Peterson iStroboSoft Tuner

I have used this app for years. Even bought their adapter so I could plug in. Had to, because phone mics don't work on bass. The accuracy was phenomenal. I used this to set up tons of guitars and basses. Loved it! 5 stars, easily. Then, I updated to a Galaxy S21. Since I did, the usb C adapter I have to use to plug in the Peterson adapter won't work anymore. Like I said, phone mics DON'T work for bass. Since I can't plug in my bass anymore, this app is useless. Won't give it 1 star but...

Not bad, used for tuning a pedal harp on Sony Xperia x compact. Gives good results on the gut strings but won't lock accurately to the wound steel strings in the bottom 1.5 octaves. Does a good job on the top most strings when switched to manual rather than auto. The main issue is when changing the note when in manual, it takes 4 or 5 taps to moe to the next string, which is a problem when there are 47 strings to tune, a simple note up and down arrow would make the world of difference.

Was hoping this would be the same as the iPhone version, but it's lacking a lot of features for being roughly the same price. can't quickly set your base frequency, have to use their preselected colour schemes (I prefer black and white for high contrast), and doesn't have most of the other user options available.

Got this on an old iPhone and it works perfectly on that. Downloaded it onto my newer android phone and it's not working right. A shame because I love how easy the app makes quick setup adjustments. No need to go getting my tuner out,check the battery. Grab a guitar lead. Just put the phone on the guitar hit the string and there you are. I couldn't get the android version to operate like that so I had to get a refund. Peterson please update the app.

$10 for a tuner that you can get for free anywhere. The upside would have been the add-ons that you can get for the iPhone version that aren't available for the Android version. One star until that is fixed, otherwise, it's just another tuner.

the layout was really good and it certainly averaged a lot better but after getting my guitar to where this tuner said it was flawlessly in tune, it respectively was not. My guitar is also set up properly and properly maintained with new strings and going back through and checking everything it also said it was still in tune but despite that the instrument was clearly not in tune

I have a V-Sam, Strobostomp & now this. The Strobostomp is brilliant. The V-Sam is sadly much more ambiguous in use. This app only works occasionally. When it's working it is very good, but I soon get hacked off with plucking strings with no response. Sometimes it ceases to respond & I have to remove all audio sources to re-enable tuning. There're better apps available that cost nothing & I have better ways to dispose of the lion's share of five quid. That's the last Peterson product for me.

NO SWEETENED TUNINGS AVAILABLE I'd give this 5 Stars if, at a minimum, the ACU Sweetener for standard was offered. It would make tuning much faster if I didn't have to think about the offset for each string. I'd love sweeteners for my alternate tunings as well. My pedal steel player doesn't believe me about how nice this is - and rightly so! Otherwise, there is no better tuner for Android. Period.

very little options for android OS, I read that I could get my money back within 2 hours of purchase but after paying and downloading the app, I could no longer find the option to get my money back. As an industry standard in guitar tuning, Peterson really fell short with this app.

I don't know why people hate on this app. I downloaded a copy for android and used it with the mobile device adapter and it all works great. Setting intonation on a Harley Benton was a breeze. In fact the software is more sensitive than the tuners on the guitar. Great app.

After download, the app let me know it wasn't optimized for newer versions of Android. Indeed the display was annoyingly glitchy. The app also lacks the "sweetened" tunings Peterson touts. I wanted to like this, but I ended up uninstalling.

dang it. thought this would have improved, over the years, for Android (galaxy s8.) it has not (at least for me) - sluggish and unresponsive /iOS version rocks, though!

Doesn't pick up sound on my pixel 4a 5g unless my guitar is vibrating against the phone...also it doesn't tell you until the first opening that it is for an older phone. Um yeah it is...last update was in 2013 bro! (?)

Disappointed as I bought this on a friend's advice for Pedal Steel Guitar sweetened tunings but they appear not to available on Android (which I didn't find out until I had paid for it). I will change my review if I am wrong, but it appears these are only available on iOS.

Extremely accurate and amazing tuner! I use this as a backup to my other Peterson tuners (clip on as well as pedal) Peterson tuners are the gold standard. So this app deserves to be 5 stars right? Noooo! One reason: no sweetened tunings! Sweetened tunings are a must! The iOS version has them, without this then this is just another ho-hum tuning app. That's why I'm rating it so low. Peterson, there are way more people using Android than iOS, why would you write us off?

This tuner app works perfectly. I am a perfectionist when it comes to tuning, and I am completely satisfied with this tuner.

Great tuner! Certainly better than any of the others I've tried. With the inexpensive input cable it works like the $200 pedal version.

Calling this app inconsistent would be me being nice. This thing STINKS. You pluck a string twice and it gives 2 different reading that are eons apart. 1 will be -10 cents flat and without tuning the string, pluck it again and it now says it's +22 cents sharp. Pure garbage.

does not read pitches very well. my free tuner app works much better. Not worth the money. I contacted them about a refund and they passed the buck to apple.

I recommend this app because Peterson is the gold standard of tuners. I do, however, hope Peterson gets the memo that we Android users want our sweetened tunings like iOS users get with this app. Four stars for an extremely accurate strobe-style tuner on my phone, docked one for the lack of sweeteners.

Results fade from the screen rapidly. Not as visual as needle and numbered scale.

Calibration not working. Developer hasn't updated for current Android os. Seems they're only focused on iphone/apple users. Why not just take the app off Google play?

very dependant to quality of your phone mic but if you pop your phone on the speaker enclosure it will do the job just fine

It wouldn't open. It said it was made to work with an older version of android and might not work. I couldn't even check because it wouldn't open.

I really really really need the sweetened tuning for Android Galaxy S7. Other than that this is pretty good.

they dont tell you its a stripped down version for samsung s8 phones but charge you same price. unstable to say the least.

No BFTS - which is why I downloaded it. Can't upgrade to the 2.0 version - it does not have that option

Nothing like it. I tune using the twelfth harmonic on a six string acoustic. Neat perfection!

Easy to use. Tuner always with phone. Remembered I had paid during phone upgrade [Google play & Android].
