It loads slightly better than the website, but that's about it. It constantly logs me out, it's unresponsive even after force closing, the photos are weird, and the re-fresh is so slow.

Just like we are able to favorite shelters and adoption agencies, I would like to have the ability to block certain shelters from showing up in my feed. Some of them clearly do not have the animal's best interest at heart. It would also be nice to report some listings as well with questionable photos.

Was a great app (and still is I suppose) but they seem to have eliminated all other species and animald like birds and reptiles are much harder to place (and adopt) than dogs and cats. Unless I'm just not seeing it with the update, a VERY bad move.

The website version is better. I am looking to adopt, and the formatting for the app version isn't the most convenient when filtering results. You need to choose one at a time and let it adjust and then pick another filter. Also, for some reason, it sometimes glitches when scrolling and when looking through dog pictures. If the dog happens to have a video, it's compressed to a tiny version that's pixelated. But other than that the app isnt that bad.

I absolutely love this app. Recently I've been trying to find a dog, and it's been really hard to find one. But this app is very helpful it takes dogs and cats and other animals from many many many shelters and shows characteristics and description like age.. size of hair, if it good with kids, or if it's shy. I love this app and recommend if trying to find a pet!

There's some light refresh problems when i login/logout , but the app has had beautiful work done on it in the years I've peeked at it. works great to find local rescues.

Update: 01/29/22: While my app was fully updated at the time of The Breaking(tm), an update was pushed not long after the reply. It's fixed! Changed the rating to reflect. App broke 01/20/22, physically unusable, no interaction at all, might as well be a screenshot. Tried to reboot the app + my phone separately, didn't work. Please fix!

Love it. Looking for a new pet this is a great tool to browse many rescues and to keep up with the ones you like.

This app is NOT optimized for various screen sizes. Difficult to use. Search function works fine, but the filter options get cut off the bottom of the screen. Poll function only works for other people who have the app, this seems pretty short-sighted.

App has glitches. It shows photos of dogs when I search for cats and then it shows photos of the same cat for other cats. Now it's showing dogs in my favorites. Fix the damn app already. Web site too!

Excellent app! I found the newest member of my family through this app. Made my search so much easier when choosing what shelters and rescues to visit. I did ended up finding my fur buddy out of state, but I never would have known about him if I hadn't used this app.

perfect in every way, allows us to search for our perfect cat from all the shelters in our area.

Love how they have the description of personality. It has helped us really narrow down our searches. I would hate to have to surrender and this helps us find a better fit.

Missing descriptions that are on the website version of pages. Also when trying to apply certain filters to your search they appear off screen and are unclickable. Lastly, I found out that Petfinder is operated by Nestle, so I am changing my rating to one star. If I could give less, I would, considering it's Nestle.

The app can sometimes be a bit glitchy, especially with searches, but all-in-all it's a great and intuitive way to connect one with local pet adoptions in the area.

Keeps kicking me out when I sign into a Google account. Can't see my favorites I saved from the website. Can't use the app only website

App is very easy to use and convenient for searching adoptable animals.

The app is not as good as just going to the website. You have more control over searches on the website. Also, in the app, a lot of the photos never load so you can't see them. I have trouble with the scrolling. It's very sensitive so if I touch the side of my screen, it suddenly scrolls down and skips a bunch and then all the photos disappear and won't come back until I close the app and go back in. The website is much better.

sometimes it works just fine. other times, it randomly freezes on the homepage immediately once you open the app and you can't tap the search bar or anything. it chooses random times to do this and refreshing the app doesn't help. you just have to wait it out a few hours until it decides to work again. just going to the website is easier. and I expecting downloading an app to be the easier one.

The searching for pets is great, but you really need to be patient...when searching for a decent amount of time, the app REALLY slows down!!!! The scrolling is choppy; it sometimes goes up, when I'm scrolling down. I can't swipe through pictures on the main search screen anymore; I have to go into the animals profile, and then click on pictures. Even then, it is really slow. Functionally, the app is great (if you're not impatient or in a hurry), but technically, it has a lot of flaws!

2 stars because I'm sure this is a fixable bug but currently the app isn't usable. I could only scroll if I started the motion in empty space (i.e. in the thin, gray area between profiles). I was not able to select a dog unless I tapped directly on their name (the "details" or "profile" option which did nothing). At this point, it was technically still useable. Technically. In an effort to fix it I reinstalled the app. Now it's completely unusable as I'm not able to get past the welcome screen.

The website is fantastic and honestly one of the best services I've tried. I was curious if they had a mobile app which was even more refined than the website. However, this app is outdated beyond belief in comparison to the website. They only have the bare minimum for filters and the entire navigation feels mid 2000s. Only positives are that it works (kinda) and it loads quickly.

Ever since the app was 'redesigned' there were problems.. it was better when there was a visible list of dogs to click on. Now it keeps freezing while scrolling down and when I want a larger pic to look at it freezes, which stops me from continuing the search. I wish apps were left alone when they work instead of the constant need to redo. Usually it is not an improvement. Can't think of one feature that is an improvement

Has potential but is lacking. Caps search radius at 500 miles, when the website has an "anywhere" option. Logs you out. Loses saved pets if you get logged out. Often after looking at a pet profile you try to go back to see all the profiles and it starts you back at the beginning of the list. Plays most videos incorrectly (blurry, no sound, cropped or zoomed in randomly).
