So disappointed in this app. Connectivity constantly drops off. App says one or the other is disconnected when it is not. Most times even when both are connected I hear only from one or the other. If a podcast is say 20 minutes long, the sound will cut off 2-4 times in the course of the broadcast. I'm ready to pitch them! Costco says it's the fault of Android. I don't care who's fault it is. I'm fed up with the performance.

More could be done for the hearing aid finder app. How far it is and a directional mode. These would require a different phone I think. Near and far are a bit inaccurate. The switch from near to far is about 20 ft. It is the best function in the app for me . I Iose aids all the time. I still have the original after a year or 2. During covid, the masks can slingshot an aid 20 to 30 ft! I have learned to take the mask off in a car or be super careful.

On behalf on my father in law, I am leaving this review. The app itself is easy to use and the different profiles are great. The infuriating thing is when you switch between devices the profile defaults to MAX volume and there is no way to change it. When you frantically try to turn the volume down, the app cannot keep up with the button presses and the volume indicator jumps all over the place. PLEASE FIX THIS.

This app is not current with the Android operating systems for smartphones. Also both my husband and I wear hearing aids and it is very difficult to choose the default hearing aid for telephone calls. Both sets of aids are controlled on this smartphone. The Phillips tends to dominate but it is my hearing aid that I need to choose.

This app is great for adjusting the volume, BUT it does not have a way to quit the app, keeping it running constantly on the Android. In fact, when my hearing aids are removed, batteries out, it still reports the hearing aid. When it is wrong (says an aid is disconnected), you have to restart your phone because the app doesn't refresh. Needs improvement. Doesn't appear to have a way to email the developers.

App is useful, but needs improvement. The bluetooth connection goes down often--several times a day--and when the bluetooth link is broken, often it will not restore itself without rebooting the phone. Simply turning bluetooth off and on sometimes works, but often not--the app hangs at 22% for both hearing aids. This is unacceptable. My wireless headphones connect automatically every time. When using the TV adapter, volume should default to the previous setting, not begin at a high volume. The audio signals when changes are made are annoyingly loud. Briefly, the hearing aids themselves are great. The app is not great. It is useful, but flawed. It could be and should be seamless, but is not, requiring lots of fiddling with bluetooth. I have to use it, but don't like it.

Would not keep a stable connection on my Moto G5+. I have new Philips Hearlink 9010 RIE hearing aids, and this app would be great to use as a remote control without having to carry another device in my pocket. But aids would not stay connected. One side or then the other would lose the connection, then turn off, play a tune that got to be annoying and turn the aid back on and try to reconnect. Often unsuccessful, Problem was much worse in a store, presumably because of more electrical/bluetooth interference. Had to close the app for the aids to keep working without interruption. The list of Android devices supported is very small and many of them are several years old. Wish it would work on mine.

each morning when I take the hearing aids out of the charger, I use my Samsung galaxy phone to turn the volume down. bout once a week, they will no longer connect to phone. I try turning blue tooth off and back on, but no luck. I find myself having to uninstall/ reinstall the philips app and pair the hearing aids to the phone again. what a pain. I don't understand how or why connecting each morning should be a hit or miss. I do not have problem with any of my other blue tooth devices

I had the same trouble that other Android users have left comments about: "Unable to connect" or "waiting on left hearing aid". I called Philips cust svc. Apparently, if you establish blue tooth connection with the hearing aids through the phone's "Settings" first, then use the app to connect to the hearing aids, it works great. I'm using a OnePlus 7t Android phone. It's on Philips' approved cell phone list. There's nothing wrong with the app. Problem is with sequence we use to connect to it!

Just bought today and very disappointed. The Bluetooth experience is horrendous! Only 1 hearing aid stays connected while the other keeps cycling on and off every couple of minutes staining the battery of the right hearing aid. If there isn't a fix soon I'm going to return my hearing aids and return to Phonac. The last pair I had lasted 7 years and they worked well, unlike the philips I just purchased.

Does not work with older android or apple systems. I had to replace a 1 year old aid. This app on my older Apple or Android phones won't register the new hearing aid. Phillip's reply that I should check their compatability list is no help. My ipad pro is listed as compatible, but detects and connects to one hearing aid, the same issue as my other devices. The older aids connected. The new one does not.

Bought a pair of MiniRite TR 9030 aids at Costco. Using app with Samsung S9 and so far so good. Connectivity and Bluetooth streaming work fine. Wish you could turn aids off with app. UPDATE! One year later very disappointed with this app. Same phone and hearing aids yet at times totally worthless. Lost connectivity is a major issue. Had 2 firmware updates on aids but still won't stay connected. Please try to do something.

This app really sucks at maintaining its bluetooth connection. I frequently have to restart my phone to get it to work. Have tried restarting my hearing aids, force stopping the app, etc. Sometimes have to uninstall and reinstall the app. Love being able to control my hearing aids with an app but this one is frustrating more often than not.

Love it! My mom is in her late 70s with a bit of dementia. If the TV is on too loud, I hop on the app and turn up her hearing aids and if it doesn't make a difference I know they need to be cleaned or the batteries need to be changed! The geo location to find misplaced hearing aids is pretty cool too.

Dan. L. Mar 25, 2022

Failure to connect or when connected there is a frequent disconnect on either side. Beware if using on Android device. It's only compatible. The hearing aids and app are made for IOS/Apples. Review update After dealing with defective Philips hearing aids the dropout/disconnect problem with the app continues. Still can't rate it any better.

I need to hear when I need to hear. While the hearing aids themselves work ok (somewhat tinny), The app has a mind of its own. Today the left one decided to stop sincing with Bluetooth. I cannot hear my phone calls without trying to hit several buttons. Not professional when my client doesn't understand. I've Uninstalled the app and restarted my phone. We will see if that works. If not, I will have to rethink this device. I have to be able to depend on it, not just hope it works.

rob. s. Dec 8, 2021

This is supposed to work with android v10 and up but does not. It will not allow sending audio to hearing aids from any app and there is no way to change that. It pairs and can control the aids but that is all. Evidently, this was designed for iphone and Android was an afterthought.

I got these new hearing aids wednesday afternoon 4/27/22 and the app worked fine then today it connected then disconnected alot then the right one disconnected then reconnected. I repaired them and the same problem. If you can't fix this issue I will return them to Costco! I am REALLY FUSTRATED as I only have had them since 3:45 pm. The 27th. I am guestioning the reliability of these aids as the app sucks! Thank You.

We had high hope's for this app and Phillips hearing aids that we got at Costco. But we have been very disappointed in the way it all works with Android. I have a Galaxy Note 9 and my wife a Galaxy Note 5. The aids frequently lose their pairing with the app and the only fix is to uninstall and reinstall the app. Seems like all we do all day is stop and restart our hearing aids and try and reconnect them with bluetooth and the app. I think these were oversold a bit to us. Returning

Partially works on Samaung A51 5G. The Samsung A51 is listed on their website as a supported phone but the A51 5G is not so perhaps there are enough differences that the Phillips HearLink app does not work completely on the A51 5G. This app cannot find the Philips hearing aids so we connected through the ordinary Android bluetooth screen. After that the audio (such as from Pandora) will play directly through the hearing aids so thats good. But, there is no audio to the hearings aids (via bluetooth) when the phone itself is on a phone call. So ya, it sort of works. I wish it would work when making an actual phone call. Would really appreciate a software update to make it fully compatible with the Samsung A51 5G. Thanks.

Very happy, probably because I'm using a Galaxy S10 and current version of Android. I'd love to have the same capabilities the audiologist has, however all the advertised functions work just fine and it's nice to use Bluetooth for phone calls and notifications.

Using Samsung Flip 3 phone connection with right and left hearing aids is not consistent. Sometimes, it takes a number of tries to connect. Also voice comes through only on left side.

Ric. K. Jan 6, 2022

False advertising for Android. Per my hearing aid specialist, the frequency adjustment is only available on iPhone. Works OK for program selection, volume control & battery status. Have not tried phone audio sent to hearing aids.

Æbe. S. Jul 29, 2021

That the price of a hearing aid is high I can understand, but that then the app has to be this bad I can not understand. Keeps falling out. Disconnect one of the hearing aids (most of the time left) Not really good. 1 star for effort. Need a real update that makes this much better. Ps it was already bad before Android Security patch. So do not blame a bad app only on that.

Ken. L. Apr 3, 2022

This app is terrible. Hearing aids won't connect and stay connected to Samsung phones. On my third phone to get this to work and still no luck. Planning on returning aids to Costco and going another direction

Ral. B. Apr 24, 2021

Useless. Can't even find the hearing aids when held directly on the hearing aids. Says I need to turn on the hearing aids when they're already on. It was a nice idea to be able to adjust volume from the app, but it's not possible when the app doesn't even know the hearing aids are on. I recommend finding a different brand of hearing aid. Engineers and app designers at Philips are permanently out to lunch.

I did a really deep dive into Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids (ASHA) and necessary hardware and compatible phones. Basically, reviewers here are taking their frustration out on the software (the Hearlink app) when the real frustration is with their phone manufacturer and a much smaller degree the Phillips hearing aid. But the app is fine. The bottom line is that software (this app) cannot enable functions that do not exist in the hardware. And it's simply not true that any phone running Android version 10 or higher will support ASHA. What Android 10 and higher supports is BLE - Bluetooth low energy. A standard Google set in place in 2019 specifically for use with hearing aids. But just because your phone supports BLE doesn't mean the phone manufacturer built in ASHA support. THERE IS A REASON for the supported phone list on the Phillips website. Sadly it appears to be near impossible to find out if a particular phone supports ASHA by looking at phone specifications. Phone manufacturers don't mention it. Basically ANY Google Pixel phone 3.0 and higher will work. High end Samsung and One Plus. I had a Motorola One G5 Ace - Android 10. The app installed and I could do stuff like adjust the volume of the hearing aid, but Audio Streaming didn't work. I purchased a Google Pixel 5a and now everything works as it should. Phone audio, music streams. I deduct a star because Phillips could be much clearer on their website that Android 10 or higher by itself is NOT enough. Additionally, if Phillips wanted they could enable audio streaming via "normal" Bluetooth support. Almost no hearing aid manufactures enable this because regular Bluetooth drains the hearing aid's batteries very quickly. It should noted audio quality is fine for phone calls, but music streams are low quality. Google has a fix for that - BLE Audio, enabled in Android 12. But there are virtually no hearing aids on the market yet using this standard. When hearing aid manufacturers roll out hearing aids using the new standard, it promises much better sound quality and still lower energy usage. BTW, if it feels like hearing aids are designed to work with iPhones and Android is an afterthought, that's largely true. But it's not the hearing aid manufacturers fault. Apple developed a low energy Bluetooth standard in 2013 and actively worked with hearing aid manufacturers. Android is late to the party.

Just started using this app Dec 2019, and it has been an amazing life changing app so far. No app problems noted, only issue has been when I use a business that for whatever reason does not provide Wi-Fi, and I start to loose features provided by this app. Very useful app, which I am still learning and discovering unknown features with each day.

With a Driod, the hearing aids constantly disconnect requiring a reboot of the phone.. Sometimes, the right disconnects other times the left disconnects. No rhyme or reason... very frustrating!!

Ter. H. Jul 7, 2021

So frustrating, hearing has become more of a challenge. Left ear drops out multiple times a day. Have to uninstall the app to re-pair. Even then it's only good for a few hours. Considering returning the aid for another brand.
