Woke up today and two of my lights were full on asked Alexa to turn them off but it says that they are not connected, tried to use this app but couldn't get it to turn them off either, I've disconnected from the app I've unpaired them from the phone I've then tried to get them to reconnect, searched for them in the app found them got them repaired, but they just will not connect, all I get is "connecting, failed to connect" over and over it's driving me mad. Not on FB or Twitter, don't do social
Lately the Hue BT app has been extremely unreliable. Bulbs fail to connect. The next day they connect, then fail again. Daily software updates are pushed which make it worse in terms of reliability. Don't waste your time or money on Hue smart bulbs. They're not consistent. I used to use the bridge and it was more reliable, but requires a modem with wifi Connection to Work. Disappointing!
I have one of the multi-color lights and I love the large amounts of settings within the app. I would love to add more hue products to my house but they are so expensive that I think I'll be looking at the other options out there unfortunately. Big fan of the product but you guys are selling this stuff for way too much and now a ton of other companies jumped into the market for basically half the price 🤷♂️
This app is great. Love the options available and control I get over my homes lighting. Can you guys please add a feature to set a group of lights/scene on a routine instead of just one...? I'm trying to set it so my lights dim down/change color at the same time and it's hard to set them all the same hue/brightness individually.
It will no longer connect to my android 11 phone. I have rebooted the phone, deleted and tried to reinstall the app but the app will not connect. When it does connect it takes anywhere from 5 to 10 seconds. I run a hue hub forever but this is disappointing. I hope it works better on a newer phone.
BUYER BEWARE! The Bluetooth App was just what I was looking for when I purchased my house. After purchasing 10 Bluetooth bulbs for around my house, I could only get two of them to be successfully be found and added to the app. My phones Bluetooth finds the buld no issue, however the app continues to say connecting and won't add it to connected hue devices. This was a horrible investment as I was very excited to continue my journey with adding philips around my house. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED NOW
Not bad, the bulbs are good and the app is reasonably stable and generally works. However there the Philips Wiz app supplied with the WiFi connected Wiz bulbs had far better functionality such as being able to switch between scenes by switching off and on on the standard wall switch, debating named scenes such as Daylight, warm white and cool white alongside the more pretensious ones. Philips, add these in and it would make an okay app so much better.
Routines reset everyday.... if they will reset everyday why you call it a routine... (It feels like, it is just to force you to buy the bridge) There is a fade out mode for turning the light off, but there is no gradually brighten mode for turning the lights on. This app is the most dissatisfying thing about Philips Hue.
I previously rated this app 5 stars. Downgraded my vote to one star due to 24-hours of the app being unable to connect to my bulbs via Bluetooth. And no tech support available on the weekends (according to the stated hours on the Philips website). Unplugged and re-plugged the lights, checked and adjusted Bluetooth settings and nothing. Not the first time the app has crapped out but this is the longest time it's done so.
Why do all bulbs have to be in all scenes? What happened to rooms? I need to automate light changes based on custom times. I need to set the bedroom light to reflect the times of actual sunrise (change each day). I can't see my signed in settings to connect to Google hub. A lot of features I had with my old hub aren't reflected in this app.
hue go v2 on a v2 bridge already but i need this 2nd app to be truly portable which seems dumb. the 2 will coexist, however. v4 hue interface is awful in general taking too many taps for simple things. the brightness slider is way too tiny now. horizontal scrolling scenes on vertical phones is *super* dumb. bluetooth, pairing, comms etc very good on a s8 running pie. no way to access the go's built-in dynamic scenes on either app or voice assist. button only :-/ does not get same scene updates.
The app works fine and the lights are amazing. I'd love a few functions though. I'd like a scene that fades the light in over time. (Not through routines per lamp but all lights in the scene). Would be great for waking up without a set timer on those lazy sundays. I run 4 lights perfectly fine on my N20
Shocked this app doesn't have widgets to quickly change scenes. Very outdated. Also frequently has problems connecting to lights even when I'm a few feet away. Google Home does better. Considering Philips lights are the most expensive brand I'm unimpressed. I "upgraded" from old Sengled bulbs and it feels like a downgrade.
Constant, daily issues with app failing to detect and connect to lights that are already on when I'm trying to either turn them off or switch colors. Everything is up to date. Disappointing.
Works okay - opening screen of app could be better. Any chance that you can put a larger gap between "Restart the app" and "Open app" buttons. Thanks to my sausage fingers I clicked on "Restart the app" and couldn't back out.
If I could give less than 1 star I would! It took half an hour to pair them the first time I used them and haven't been able to use them via the app since. Everytime I try to load the app it asks for a name and email address as though I'm a first time user and on there rare occasions the app shows the bulbs just constantly get failed to connect message on. Buy another brand if you want smart might bulbs! Complete rip off
Pretty easy-to-use and easy to install but that's just my opinion as I am not new to technology. I enjoy helping others with this technology as long as they are performing the actions themselves as I educate them on the item item at hand as well how it will simplify their lives daily. Thank you.
App is great, haven't found any issues yet after almost a month and love the morning wake up features. Lightbulbs on the other hand are very expensive compared to other brands (especially when it comes to the bayonet style lightbulbs made for ceilings).
This light along with the all has improved my sleep and waking up. I'm also able to have alarms set for when to turn so I'm able to come home with lights on. Not having a dimmer switch at home this has a made I so I can set a more fitting mood for movie night. Would recommend.
I bought these as an expensive alternative... I'll be lucky if they work 2/10 times with Alexa... Shocking Update. These are still shocking... One out of two works... Manually have to turn them on. Do not recommend this to anyone, half the price Chinese copies work better... It gets worse, now nothing connect's.... Absolute rubbish
Bulbs no longer connect. For over a year I used my Google nest mini to control them, set up through this app. I recently reset my Google device for reasons and had to re-setup these bulbs as a result. At first this app was recognizing the bulbs when I'd scan but wouldn't connect. Then I cleared this apps data/cache and tried again.. no longer finds the bulbs at all. Nothing. Now the bulbs are worthless and so is this app in my opinion. I bet if I had never updated the app they would connect.
Certainly not an alternative to Wi-Fi lights but it does work in a sort of fashion, bit slowly to start. The app never stays on on my phone, and so the delay, as it slowly fires up each time.
Works less than reliably. It won't be offline forever mainly and the Facebook team help, which is essential, a big thank you to them. But it's a bit wierd when smart tech seems less than smart for no reason. No idea.
It normally works, with the exception of a few times when it fails to connect. However, it has now been two weeks since it has failed to connect at all. I tried removing and reinstalling the app, but now I can't even connect the light bulb to it. Frustrating and disappointing.
I love this app.. The only thing i would say to add is to allow for reoccuring routine sets. So you dont have to turn them back on after the routine set time has passed. Please add a reoccuring option to the routine settings please! :)
Lights used to connect don't any longer, when they did the voice assistant didn't work. When trying to add aight you have to add your name and email Every. Single. Time.
These bulbs are amazing. And the app makes it so convenient to operate each one individually. Set schedules, change colors, brightness, or even premade themes! I want one in every fixture in my house.
The service doesn't work as advertised. Integration with Google home doesn't work without additional 70$ "Bridge", despite what is written on official support page. The whole set up is designed to upsell you more otherwise useless products. I strongly do no recommend buying Philips lightbulbs and will think twice before buying anything from this deceptive brand.
Pretty bad for a controlling just a bulb. Bluetooth only connects if you're not using BT for anything else (like wireless headphones). The Routines automatically disable themselves for seemingly no reason (I have to use a hardware outlet timer when out of town). My guess is it's made this way on purpose to get you to upgrade/buy a Bridge, and this app will never be good for us bargain-bulbers. Still, it functions ok as a remote control for my lamp. Meh.
