Phone Finder for Alexa
Can't find one of your android devices? It's on silent? Alexa saves you: your device will ring with full volume and vibrate.
This App has to be connected to the Alexa Skill "Phone Finder". This is really simple:
1. Install the Skill on your Alexa device. Say "Alexa, activate Phone Finder". Alternatively, use the Alexa App to do that
2. Open up the skill. Say: "Alexa, open Phone Finder" and request to add a new device
3. Alexa will tell you your personal PIN code
4. Open the Android App and enter the PIN code
5. Your status becomes "Active". Done!
If you like, you can set an alarm tone. Then, you can ask any of your Alexa devices (on the same user account) to find your Android device. If your device is online, it will quickly start to ring loudly and vibrate.
Repeat these steps for any additional device you want to add. You can add up to two. Connect your phones, tablets and smart watches and never worry about losing them again!

Search for device by device-number:
"Alexa, open Phone Finder and find two"
"Alexa, open Phone Finder and search for phone two"
"Alexa, ask Phone Finder to find device one"
Search for device (if multiple devices connected, Alexa lists them first):
"Alexa, open Phone Finder and find my phone"
"Alexa, ask Phone Finder to find my device"
Add a new device:
"Alexa, start Phone Finder and add a new device"
"Alexa, open Phone Finder and connect my phone"
Remove an existing device:
"Alexa, start Phone Finder and remove my phone"
"Alexa, start Phone Finder and disconnect my tablet"
Ask for the PIN code:
"Alexa, ask Phone Finder for my code"
"Alexa, open Phone Finder and give me my PIN"

works exactly as it says. and when it asks for a seven digit PIN remember, you wrote it down on installation. I was confused but then I read documentation and saw exactly how it works, again :-) thank you for sharing this skill with everyone
Alexa's default "find my phone" doesn't find your phone on silent, because the call comes in from a unknown number so no way whitelist it. This app does work. It's a bit clunky saying "open phone finder and find my phone", but hey, I'm just glad it works.
installed and set up my Samsung Note 8 and it did not work. if you know that it does please post how. edit: I installed it on my Note 8 and I told Alexa to find my device and it never set off the sound on my phone. At the time my phone was the only phone installed. Later, I installed the app on my wife's LG G6 and it worked fine. Edit: Got contacted by the company and they updated their app. it now works with my Note 8. I'm giving 5 stars due to the customer service.
Does not work on my Xperia! Followed setup to the letter, entered pin, enabled Bluetooth (just in case) and asked the app to find device 1.... "Sorry, could not fibd device. Please try again soon." After multiple attempts without success i had no choice but to uninstall. đ¤ˇđźââď¸
It was working great before. I wish they hadn't changed it. I'm sorry you worked so hard to "fix" something that wasn't broken. This was difficult to install and there were no notices that the old version was deactivated.
The only screen I get is "could not verify your status. Choose update status to try again". When I do that the message is "Android token not found. Please try again." Have uninstalled and reinstalled several times with the same outcome.
Hello dev team if you are really reading this mail, I would like to request few things: 1. when I ask alexa "Find my phone" or "Search my phone" it goes to phone genie app which doesn't have multiple numbers support. Can you guys ask Amazon team or do something which make your app default for searching. 2. It would be great if user can see all devices added to list in one place and use rename feature for devices providing meaningful names. 3. Keep phone finder always running in background.
Finds my phone via echo devices. Thats pretty much what I ordered. There was a persistent nagging notification to "turn on offline notifications for phone finder"... turned out not this app. Dev. got on it quick and professional.
This app used to work a cpl years ago. Now you can only add 1 phone reliably. I just set up a new phone number with a new voice profile and it still only tries the first number. Too bad because this is actually something useful that got ruined.
Can't set this up unfortunately. I get a page saying "Could not verify your status. Chose update to retry". I click update status and get an message saying andriod token not found. Shame, seems useful.. using Pixel 2 xl
First day using, but so far very good. Unlike another find phone app I had been using, THIS one works even when your phone is on silent. That makes all the difference in the world. Very happy.
So far it's a very crude app !!! During installation the app brings you to a place to enter a pin, but the pin must be generated by the app because my pins do not work.. I cannot complete the install process... I'm uninstalling it...
It's a little difficult to figure out how to use this Phone Finder app. The app came with no instructions on how to use it in the Alexa app. So that's why I gave it a low rating. BUT WOW once you do figure out how to activate Phone Finder in the Alexa Skills area of the Alexa app it is awesome đ
It will not work if volume is down like it claims it will. Alexa even says if it doesn't ring it's because it can't connect or it is on silent! So why does the app claim it will work? ALEXA EVEN SAYS IT WONT. WHAT A JOKE
Seems to work fine. only issue i have is allowing strangers to access my photo library - im sure most people are similar. Why ? adding 2nd device is like this i assume? ⢠Download app on 2nd phone ⢠Use command to Alexa to add 2nd device - she provides new pin ⢠Add pin to app on new (2nd) device - Call Alexa and ask to locate 2nd device (command) ?
First you need to have Amazon echo device, enable the skill Phone Finder. And then ask ,Alexa, open phone finder and search for my phone. It will give you a pin code. Now launch the app in your android phone and enter the pin. Your phone finder app is ready to use. Now ask Alexa to search your phone, and see the magic.
I would certainly love to give this app five stars, but it only rings my Pixel 3 XL running Android 10 when the app is open. When the app is closed, nothing!
I have an Alexa device. I installed this application for a phone finder and the 1st thing and asked for was a pin number which I never received. I tried this several times never getting a pin number that it requires. Please help.
works better than anything else, lost your phone somewhere in the house but its on silent so phoning it doesn't help? With this app your Echo device could be the solution.
It works but... Alexa says that I've exceeded the limit of 1 device. So not for devices (plural) as in the description. Disappointing.
The app has to be always open in the background in order to find your phone, but it works very well when open in the background
Just cannot get the app to transfer onto my Alexa Echo plus cylinder, it won't download to my Alexa facility, & keeps blocking any or all info that i try to stream/send over from my phone to the cylinder, so i cannot give it any commands at all, the only time Alexa speaks to me is pre-programmed words & most of those are foreign language greetings, it keeps asking me for my email address or a mobile phone number plus a pin number and an Amazon password, so I'm totally out of my depth with it,.
I read the instructions for a third time and finally got it working and so far so good all, to anyone who can't get it working try and try again
I asked to find 3 times and not once did it ring and in the skills it says if phone is silent mode it will raise volume but Alexa said it doesn't ring she is either unable to connect or it's on silent đĄ
Works great but randomly opens another app afterwards. I will update after adding a second number to it.

The app works, but even after I subscribed to the paid version I am still getting an ad, that's not cool
Works well with Alexa for one device, so I upgraded to the pro version. No matter how carefully we entered the codes, the app always rang only one phone -- meaning it was wrong half the time. That's a fail. The app itself is inadequate, with nothing by way of settings that could correct phone identity issues. I cancelled the upgrade and will look elsewhere.
