Phonemic Chart

Still laughing. This app has good content. The basic charts are compete & pronunciation is good. BUT.... click a symbol to see examples/hear it, and the app takes you to a new screen for that symbol. And no way to get back to the chart. You literally have to quit the app and restart it to get back to the chart. Someone thought that was acceptable! (or simply didn't test it?). The pictures in the app store are misleading, there is no X button to close screens. Fix this & 5 stars.

The app itself seems to be fine in terms of navigation and UI. The problem is that the sounds have been recorded by a non native speaker. They are an approximation of the correct sound but some are quite a ways off. Making the app useless for teaching / learning purposes

I'm an English teacher and I often forget how to write some of the dipthongs used to represent English sounds. My 3 year old grandson also likes playing with the app - listening to and "reading" the words featured under each sound and then repeating the sound. There's an app. idea for someone - very simple story books with a sound button on each word.

Disappointingly incomplete, both phonetically and mechanically – there's no back button once you click a phoneme. I was expecting the actual IPA when I downloaded this, yes, but once I did I was looking around for all the sounds there is in English Phonology. There was no glottal stop 🤔 and having to reset the app every time I checked a phoneme was annoying.

Helpful...sorta. Had it for all of 10 seconds, you can't control the volume and takes you to a second menu when you click onto a new sound. Speaking of clicking...the clicking noise is loud and can't be turned off. This ones is a hard pass

For the users who have issues finding the button to return to the main menu, I've discovered that the app has to be opened in full screen mode, and then the button is visible. Very clear pronunciation and simple, clean interface. Useful app.

In the top row, the third sound from the left, the oo sound as in cook, or book, or took, the sound is mispronounced as oo as in food, shoe, or boo, however the sound is pronounced correctly when the words are clicked. please update it with the correct sound, and get back with me, other than that, its a great app, good work. (hard to find good phonics apps)

As mentioned in other comments, there is no way to go back to the main chart after listening to an individual entry, so you have to restart the whole app. Why the designers would not include a back button is absolute beyond comprehension.

Simple but perfect app. Lite, no ads, no clutter and extremely clear loud vocal samples perfect for non English speakers or children learning to write.

Very useful to learn phonetics with sound and example. It would be perfect if developer design a quiz game for phonetics also. Thank you very much for this wonderful app that I am looking

Is there no "back" button in the App? Everytime I've opened something I am unable to go back to the main directory and have to restart the app.

I wish that it was updated and few more options to enhance the process; consequently, I acknowledge articulating the process of sounding words is essential for one's improvement as a better and informed person!

This app is very good for teaching 2nd language learners of English phonology. It has really been of great assistance to me.

It's really awesome app that guides you, how to pronounce English consonants and vowels. I humbly recommend this for L2 learners.

Nonsense developer 😡 No back button after clicking on sound chart. If we click on back button it exists without conformation.

It could have been better if separate pronunciation must be there without popping up if touching or click on the letters

The sound of /ɜː/ printed to /əː/, that's incorrect, please update it on the new version. The sound of /ə/ pronounces incorrectly, the schwa sound is very weak, but it pronounces as strong sound in the app. The additional sounds of /ks/ /kw/ /gz/ are not IPA sounds, please remove it.

It is good to learn the sounds of english alphabets,nevertheless,the app needs to upgrade more.Many thanks

I don't know what is going on, but it close when I try to open, I already downloaded, installed and Uninstalled but the error still happens

It is for beginner. It should take users's word also to make more practice and undersranding.

Can't really type out the phonetic symbol though. Rather then that it works perfectly.

My kids now know how to learn their sounds because they are learning more about diction and they're getting better.🦃

I can learn phonics very clearly and easily because of your phonemic chart.

If you add some exercises, it'd be great. But overall is impressive!
