Horrendous waste of money and time !! After spending a couple hundred bucks on a bunch of sensors for the PhoneWorks system for Ryobi. I finally get around to installing the PhoneWorks app on my Samsung phone, with the latest Android OS one of the latest model of phone. The app installs ok but when I go to run it I get an error telling me that the app is incompatible with my phone, but then opens the app but none of the sensors registered ! Installed the ver for BT and it does the same ! Thanks
Seriously!?!?! The May 2021 update killed the meter as it disabled the bluetooth connection. The Bluetooth button in the App is disabled making it impossible to use the meter. It's now almost September with countless reviews indicating this and the response from Ryobi.....crickets
No longer pairs with meter - Since the new update, i can no longer get the app tpo pair with my moisture meter. This is why i really don't like these devices that require an app, they usually quit working just when you need it.
Basically Ryobi made the meter useless. All help disappeared from website. No more bluetooth connection. I can't use the meter anymore... Irresponsible behavior for a company that is selling working tools.
What's the point of buying Ryobi products when they can't get the app to work. As countless other people pointed out it doesn't want to connect.
Won't sync to bluetooth device. No warning that device isn't connected. No option to even attempt. Can't exit app. Very amateur.
I can NOT stress enough how much of a piece of garbage this is. I know Ryobi is low end to begin with, but the fact that the Bluetooth on a Bluetooth device doesn't even work is just pathetic. I will stop everyone I see from buying a Ryobi product from now on. GARBAGE, ABSOLUTE GARBAGE
Can't keep the pairing for longer than a minute if you can even get it to pair in the first place. Not sure if its the app or device but either way, does not work.
Garbage, should have bought the meter, waste of time trying to get it to work. Cool idea poorly executed...dont waste your time. This product shouldnt be for sale yet
Having a ton of trouble getting my moisture meter to function. Bummed out about it really. Cool idea but needs work I guess.
For a $20 device this is a very good option. Question for RYOBI: Would you consider making the app open source? It's been over a year since it was updated, and some tweaks would sell a lot more devices.
What a great device that no longer works because the app won't connect to the device through Bluetooth anymore.
Doesn't work on my Samsung Note 20. Bluetooth does not connect. The Bluetooth button does nothing after I give it permission.
The bluetooth app works. 3 stars because, in the new iteration, they left "wall" out of the settings for surface to be tested.

By far the absolute biggest piece of garbage I have ever encountered. I wasted almost 100 dollars on a scope that relied on this pos app. Thanks ryobi you were my go to until you screwed me with this garbage.
The fact that every single review is bad and this big company is doing nothing (not even responding to the complaints ) I won't even steal a Ryobi product from Home Depot anymore. Moisture meter is the only icon that exist on my app. Feedback page: ERROR 404. Go suck the NWO's nuts

I got it to pair once. Never again despite app reinstall. I will be returning this junk immediately.
My moisture meter has been a paper weight since the update. Ryobi yall are better than this.

They should have finished the app and written the manual before selling this. There is none and the best available is for the non Bluetooth version. Also the Bluetooth app is clearly missing most of the features of the wired version! Loses connectivity whenever phone screen turns off. Measurements are reported in .1 % increments but are really much coarser, and worst at low values. Missing settings for most common woods, fir, hemlock, cedar, redwood. Humidity adjustment is totally bogus.
