Phonics: Reading Games for Kids & Spelling Apps

UNINSTALLED! Only 2 free mini-games out of 23 other paid games & 3 links to other apps. This makes it difficult for a toddler (the target market) to maneuver the games independently and frustration-free. So they think we should be blindly suckered in, after being shown less than 10% of the product? No thanks!! Since our issue with the app is more a matter of principle, I left 2 stars, as some parental controls and the little bit of gameplay shown were decent.

I would have gave it a 5 start but it doesn't have the option to change it to lower case. It is an amazing app but most children start learning with lower case. Should be able to switch either or. Other the that it is one of my favorite for sure!!! Great work guys!

The animations seem aimed at the preschool crowd, but there are so many pop ups, a preschooler is definitely going to accidentally install other apps. Only the 1st level is included for free, that level doesn't keep your progress, and there are sooo many ads. Overall, not a good fit for younger kids OR older kids.

GOOD APP BUT COULD BE BETTER, #1 - there isn't a option to pause so your child can have time to understand the formation of the words #2 - The lesson is going so fast that my 4 year old daughter doesn't get to spell the words herself #3 The app quickly goes ahead and spell the words by starting at the second or third letter before the first letter which is a huge confusion for a 4 year old! With those improvements the app would be much better!

Great app, help my child to learn basic letters. Sometimes there's a glitch, and the letters keep repeating. Have to restart. Otherwise, worth the purchase. By the way, there are no ads if you buy it.

Too many ads Edit: maybe kids apps aren't for you then if you can't make them without excessive ads. What about a free trial system then a paid app? If the trial is good and parents think the app is beneficial they'll pay for the full version.

Very basic, The app title say phonics. But when drag the letters, it's only says sound of the letters. It will be best to say the phonics. Also playing full length video is not helping my kids to close. Add can be placed on some corner or give big button to close it.

It's a good app but when choosing the games there are additional apps that show up alongside the choices when they don't need to be there. I don't want my kid wanting other apps like drawing or funny foods when I just want him to pick from what came with the app I purchased...

It is adorable! And it really makes it fun and exciting for my son to learn words with this app! I just get such joy seeing how much my little boy absolutely loves playing it! He loves spelling and reading even though he has special needs and can't talk right now. But he does laugh and even cracks up while playing it and it's just adorable for him to enjoy it that much!

Even after paying to remove ads, there are still prominently displayed ads for other apps. Thanks for making my 3 year old cry that he's not allowed to click on icons such as "DRAW YOUR PETS". These additional apps are made to look like they are part of the regular app so of course a child wants to click it. Really it's offered for DOWNLOAD with more purcha$es, a scenario I sought to avoid by purchasing the app. This kind of false advertising should cause this app to be banned by the app store.

NOT PHONICS. This game asks children to drag letters to match the letters of a word, for example s-a-t for sat. They do not have to drag the letters in order. When the letters are touched, a voice says the LETTER NAME NOT THE LETTER SOUND. When all the letters are matched, the letter names are read again and the word is announced. There is no connection made between letters and sounds at any point. I teach first grade and am deleting this app immediately. It does not reinforce any phonics.

Best app because it help children to read the words......and if children can read words they can make sentences easily... App should be more customised..I think this app should add more things in it like to help children learn to make sentences and they can learn alphabet easily......

Waaaaay too many ads to even be functional for a child to play. Very distracting, takes away from any learning that might have otherwise occurred.

Your advertisement banner is in the wrong place for little people. Can't play your game as every time he tries to play he clicks your ad banner and I have to start him again. Frustrating. Uninstalling.

The app is really good but the alphabets are not pronounced properly for kids to learn how to read. The alphabets are instead named. So kids don't get to hear the true sounds that make up the words. Three worda per session seems little. Maybe 5

This is not a phonics game, it uses letter names! Also the letters are in capitals, surely children should start by learning the lower case versions. It might be some use in some countries, but this is no use for the way children are taught to read in the UK.

Kids learn to read easier by spelling phonetically... not ABC.. rather abc... it's easier for them to sound cat .... bat... pat... they form letters and put them together by sounds. This app confuses that sounding ability for them. Good graphics though

I paid to remove ads. However, the app keeps showing links to other apps on Google Play. I don't want my preschooler going to Play store and installing apps. Even though I paid, I uninstalled the app. The hassle isn't worth it.

Poorly thought out. For example, when it's teaching phonics and you grab a letter to build a word, it says the letter's name not the sound. Also uses upper case when it should be using lower case and contains some spelling mistakes!!

Not good for kids. It doesn't actually teach anything. At most it's spelling practice. The ads are deceptive and made to look like part of the game. It's pretty low to fool kid like that.

Fun game for young children or kids who process slowly. However, the letters are in all caps, and while naming letters isn't wrong, a phonics program should present the sounds of the letters. Cute game, but not the most research-based for phonics practice.

Kids love this app! Finally something that they want to do that teaches! I had to download it on all my devices so all the kids could play. I'm ok with that as long as they are learning! I truly hope this never changes...thank you!

Absolutely disgusted with this game. First word, FAT. Then 2 minutes into the experience it starts advertisements. This is intended for young children, advertisements being forced down their throats is deplorable.

It is wonderful application with a user friend interface if you designe such an app with full course for an English learner so that the we can use it as a digital course in our schools.

I was hoping this game would give my son a chance to choose the letters that go with certain sounds. Instead children are just finding the letters that are already given to them requiring very little thought about the names of the letters or their sounds.

Ok. SOOOO many ads. Useless for a kid. Ok to do together. 1.99 to remove ads, open up the different levels.

There is no phonics instruction here. The sounds of the letters aren't even addressed let alone taught??? Graphics are great but such a waste.

One thing that I would love for you to do as an improvement to this APP is to make the letters say their actual pronounciation before saying the full words because kids learn blending better. If you are able to that, that would be great APP.

Good for learning spelling and letters, but the app is a bit buggy. It got stuck repeating a letter over and over and letters were spinning or of control

Unlock all, remove ads is bullshet! I want a refund. You don't unlock anything. You still need to buy the downloadable games and purchase the no ad on top of this app that's telling you download something else. I am upset you waste my time.
