My son is in kindergarten and he has this for homework every week... my only issue with this is the voices overlap, you have one voice saying what the object is and then you have the great job voice and they tend to overlap to where you can't understand the object voice... worth 5*s if that gets fixed.
There are a lot of errors in the pics and some other stuff..for ex..insect and ice cream don't have the same sound..one is a short 'I' sound and the other a long sound. Also the pic of a flute is wrong..it is a trumpet..needs a lot of fixing.
This is not a beginning sounds game. It features incorrect pairings such as "eight" and "elephant." Do not use this product.
Easy to play and gets right to the point. Will try with my 4 yr old soon.

Should pronounce words better
There are just two things that stop me giving 5 stars for this - Firstly a spider isn't an insect! Secondly it would be better if things started with the same sound rather than the same letter. Kids need to distinguish between phonemes before they understand that two different phonemes can be produced by the same letter (i as in insect is the same as in igloo, but quite different as the sound it makes in ice cream). I would happily pay for the full app if that was fixed.
The short and long vowel sounds need to be separated. Even some consonants have two different sounds and should not have be together in the same letter category as far as pictures are concerned especially for early readers. Not too great.
Also doesn't keep the same sounds grouped together (for instance, it mixes hard and soft g's together)
More attention needs to be given to the phonics rather than the letter a word begins with. The sound setting cannot be changed and it is very loud!
I can't even open the game and let my son play it because it continually forces me to rate the game and download others, before he can even TRY it. None of the other apps did this. That's cheap! And very disappointing. Can you tell my little boy why he can't play this game??!
The game is ok. I gave 2 stars b/c of the conflicting voices, there's no organization, there's no levels to play to learn new words; and its constantly" stopping" by itself! I'm not going to uninstall b/c my daughter loves it, but, I've downloaded better games that are less confusing.
Very good for the kids..time to learn so many things they never learned before.

Its ok.american accent...phonemes are not consistant...arm is sorted with alligator...short /a/ sound is not same as /ar/ sound etc. Nice images & simple for kids to use.

The letter shown is too small and in wrong place. It should be right next to each row. The sound should be pronounced not the name of letter, as its a Phonics game. Including images such as numbers is absurd - too complicated for a child.
