I really want to like this app since it has a blacklist option which I really need and doesn't have ads but it can't seem to find my downloads, where most of my music is. I double checked my blacklist and I had the app scan the correct folder, still no luck. My last added playlist also remains stubbornly empty, which was never the case with other music apps.

There was a time this was the best music app but is now riddled with bugs. Cannot change song in the playlist except if you scroll a little before changing the song. After opening the playlist you cannot change song in the library, have to close app and open again. Album art missing. Current song name and artist truncated, etc. It was better before the update

Got this as an alternative for Amazon music and in general I like it. Some interface issues that aren't as intuitive as I'd prefer have me at 4 stars instead of 3. Unfortunately (probably due to amazon, let's be fair), music I purchase there can't be easily found on the device now, so I have to download to a computer, put into cloud storage, and then download to my phone so I can get it into phonograph. It's a pain, but not enough of one to make me switch back to amazon music.

Great app, the interface is simple yet it has plenty of features. Edit: Lately, songs will refuse to play at all and I can't reproduce it consistently. It will try and fail to play every song in the current playlist until it reaches the end. I have to restart my phone for the app to play songs again (force stopping the app doesn't work).

I loved this app and paid for the Pro version to create and manage playlists, but after transferring to a new phone, the app stopped letting me create playlists. I contacted the App provider to solve this problem and have had no response after 3 months. So; it's a great app, but no support. Just stick with the free version, DO NOT pay money for this app. After sales support is non existent. Just use VLC.

i love its simple style. just perfect. the only things i'm going to complain about is the fact that you can't change the apps' colors without having to pay for them but also the fact that when displaying an artist's profile the songs and the albums are not listed in alphabetical order; so if you made that option free the app and fixed that order thing, the app would truly be flawless.

Very nice app, but I can't add songs to a playlist anymore. I have to make a new playlist, and then add that playlist to an already existing playlist. Disappointed since I recently paid for the pro version too. I've been using this app and I like it, but every once in a while there is some annoying bug.

Pretty good so far, however it likes to split albums up, and in one case won't put them back together because it refuses to match up the spelling of the album title. Although tag editor shows them both as being spelt the same (I copy-pasted from one to the other) one is displayed as "Märchen & Mythen", while the other (incorrect) one is displayed as "Märchen & Mythen". Remember, the correct one was directly pasted to the other and shows in Tag editor for the broken one.

***Edit 03/05/22*** Now totally unusable, every time the app is closed it deletes user created playlists, this is a serepticious way of making you leave it running in the background, probably gathering data. *** Almost unusable now. Constant drip outs via Bluetooth, when opening my CCTV app to check on my dog the player shuts off even though the camera app has no audio stream, and the interface hasn't gotten any better either, clearly the Dev has just given up.

Was working great, but now I'm having the same issue a lot of people seem to be. Can't edit or create playlists anymore. quite frustrating and makes playback very limiting. Think I need to find another app if they don't fix the issue. I've been trying to find a simple music player to replace Google play music, since I don't stream and just want to play my own music. This is by far the best so far. Interface is simple and very similar to google play, so feels familiar and easy to use. Bonus ad free too. This works great for me, exactly what I was looking for

I really like this mp3 player app. Not only is it pretty intuitive, but the color customization is more fun than I'd have expected! You can create your own playlist on the fly using a visually pleasing surface. However, I recently started having a strange and pesky issue where, after having the app installed for a while, whenever I try to open the app, it will just instantly shut down again. Please help/fix

Works really well and has a great design! Although there's one bug with compilation albums - instead of listing them as various artists, it chooses an artist and lists it as that, and it inserts it in a really odd order (for example, it chose an artist beginning with 'p' and insert it under the 'a' near the top of the list. They are out of order like this throughout, and I think it's a system problem that compilation albums have). Otherwise it works great!

A fine music player app with great design and great widgets. There's a good deal of customization that anyone could get used to it. However, when playing an ogg vorbis file the volume goes absurdly loud and gave me a scare. It can't be controlled with the volume slider and behaves as if it's constantly at full volume, making most of my music unbearably loud for my ears. If it weren't for this, and the potential of other bugs, I'd give it five stars. Be sure to stick to MP3 with this for now!

Great App, Poor Support. The interface is clean and works well. Nice touches like the tag editor are present although it won't matter and won't affect your sorting depending on the time type (FLAC or WAV files for example). This also hasn't been updated since January 2020. The update since hasn't solved the playlist issue (not being able to add songs to and edit playlists) which has been an issue for a while now.

Moving over from YouTube Music and this was recommended by a friend. It's a really nicely designed app and has a good layout. It's easy to use and intuitive. I have one gripe, and I don't know if it's the fault of the app or my hardware, but my bt earphones can pause playback but then cannot resume playback once paused. It's such a shame, because it would be a perfect solution for me if it had full integration with bt.

Such a nice app! So I am not one to say that something is perfect, but this fits my use case exactly. It works well by grabbing files off of my SD card and adding them to my library. When new files are added they are added in order and new songs playlist (something I like a lot personally). Fast scrolling is really great due the the large letters on the side the tell you where you are in the alphabet so you don't have to stop scrolling to read a title to tell how much further you have to scroll only to realize you have already gone past the song you want. And it's all free with out ADs. You can pay for the premium version or just compile it yourself. Not Issues at all with this program! 10/10

Mostly good. I've been using this music player for some time and enjoy how it works quite a bit. Since the last update though I've had an issue of new music isn't always pulling the album cover in the music folder, and when I go to add it in the Tag Editor the app crashes when I click save. So I have a growing collection of near-blank, grey albums in my list which is getting very annoying.

Hell of a lot better than the default Samsung app, at least for me. I don't stream much audio and am using this simply to transition to using my phone from my old Sony Walkman, and so far it's exactly what I needed. Highly recommend! Note: If you're syncing music from your computer and are uptight about album art and tags, I highly suggest mp3tag on Windows as a companion. It makes my life so much easier.

Great music app, looks nice and works well overall. However, there is a huge problem: if you connect to your PC using a USB cable and delete songs off your SD card, the app doesn't remove them from your library. You can't play them and you can't delete them (though it says you can), so they just sit there clogging up your library. Even uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't remove them, and this happens with the pro version as well. Fix that issue, and it's an easy 5 stars from me.

Ben. H. May 23, 2019

The app is really great and looks fantastic, but it has some minor bugs that keep me from switching over entirely. All album thumbnails are replaced by random images on my phone when I'm scrolling through them all on the "Albums" page. Disabling media store covers as recommended per the GitHub page resolves the issue, sure, but it isn't ideal for everyone. Lack of casting support is a real bummer too. Only real feature the app is lacking!

So far my favorite music player. If you want a music player for local music. This is it! Beautiful, all the features you'd ever want. Does use Androids MediaStore and no DYI solution, so it's easy to integrate with whatever music synchronization solution you have. Chances are it probably works. And it's open source to top it all off.

I would like this app more if I didn't have to keep reinstalling it. This is the 3rd time I have had to do so, it keeps crashing. Also a fast forward or rewind button would be nice; if I'm listening to a long podcast and miss something it is hard to just go back 20 seconds. Otherwise this is a pretty solid app for a local music library.

I moved from Google Play Music to Phonograph and have decided that I like it much better. The customization is appealing and allows the user to easily adjust the app to their liking. However, there are some features I'd like to see added in the future. The first would be the ability to organize playlists into alphabetical order, and the other would be an option to tell the user if they're adding a song to a playlist that the song is already in. Thank you!

So i got this app for the OnePlus 6T, since it doesn't have its own player. Y'know, it plays music, but what really crawls under my skin is the Favorites playlist and playlists in general. The function of adding songs to a playlist or Favorites works, but when I go in to add new songs, I'd find that that playlist gone. Disappeared. This happened at least three times. So I thought it'd be safe to turn a regular playlist into my Favorites playlist. Nope. Playlist also disappeared. 400 songs. Gone.

Mic. K. Jan 16, 2021

I just paid money for this app, spent over an hour thinking I was loading a Playlist with songs only to discover it was empty. Also, completely unintuative. I paid specifically because I thought it would allow me to simply select folders, but it seems to only allow me to "blacklist" ones. Maybe this feature is possible, but if something so simple isn't obvious in the main settings it's not worth wasting my time to have to learn how to work a basic music player. Will be demanding a refund.
