PHOTO COUNT

The applications has an algorithm that separate the objects from the background, count and show in different colors the contours of the objects counted.

It was tested with good performance in the cases:

Pellets, dash's, coins, petri plates, balls, screws, nuts, washers, Holes, etc.

The app see the brightness differences between the objects and can be used in a lot of real situations but due photo quality and analysis is not 100% efficient.

Some photos will take some time to process for the smartphone.

There are two types of counting algorithm. “Similar Size Obj” will count objects separately even if it is touching each other but the objects need to have similar sizes. “Any Size Obj (No touching Obj)” will count objects separated, hence touching objects will be counted as one. Filters like noise reduction, invert and adaptive threshold are available.

This app use OPENCV library.

This sort of worked but it won't detect by colour to isolate. That would be a great feature to add. At the moment I'm trying to count sprouting seeds and it sees perlite as them. Came back to say it needs an upload photo feature. I could then use image editing to get better definition and remove noise.

This is the only app I've found that even comes close to counting a large number of items. I would happily give it 5 stars if I could use it on photos from my gallery instead of having to take a new picture each time. Is there a version for Windows? If I could just see the screen better it would help me determine if I'm getting the proper count.
