I really want to give this a 5* but I just can't. The develop for DNG files creates artifacting. With the same tweaks in LR, I get significantly better results. Edit: So I edited a jpg and the raw file, cranked the same adjustments (lifted shadows, dropped highlights) I got the same results with both. Apparently this doesn't work with DNGs captured with smartphones. Shame :(
Finally, a great photo app, photo viewer and editor for DSLR camera photos. The best features are: Raw file support, local storage ~ not a front-end to subscription file storage with the monthly fees, high customization, and best surprise feature ~ local network storage file management system!
UPDATE SINCE LAST REVIEW Still trash. Now I can't even make a single white balance edit without the app crashing. No refund. No contact from developer. πΊπ SCAM APP ππΊ Original review. Pretty poor UI and experience overall. Looking for something to easily batch edit photos. All this did was bug out and corrupt my files. Well worth the $15 I paid π
It's slow on my phone (Pixel 5a) and the interface is ugly (but intuitive). However, it actually opens Fuji raw files, does localized edits, and costs the same as one month of Lightroom mobile. I wouldn't make it my primary editor if I had to process a lot of raws, but as a travel editor for when my jpgs aren't good enough it's worth the money.
App is now completly un-usable and I paid for the full version. After 5mins if I can edit the photo without it crashing it crashes when I try to save it. Using a Galaxy Tab S6, Android 11.
Great App BUT. I'm seriously impressed with the feature set in this app, I was not expecting it. However, there seems to be no option to select photos and perform batch operations when in the quickview mode. You can rate them, but when you enter slection mode it disables the rating overlay. This makes it very cumbersome for culling, which I hoped to use it for. Also it's quite prone to crashing. Great file support. This is a real pro tool. If the selection could be fixed I will happily buy it.
I'm surprised this app has such a low rating. I tried it because I read that it would edit the nef raw files from my nikon z6 on the go which most other editing apps won't. It works absolutely fine, I don't have much experience with the free version as I got the full version for the layers/brush tool function once I established it worked. The only slight complaint is that it is a bit laggy in previewing adjustments which is probably down to using a mid range phone with a fairly powerful app.
EDIT 2021 MAR: My version was ad free for a while. There's ads now which cover images if I'm viewing them in landscape. Lost 2 stars. ORIGINAL: excellent, makes viewing photos so much easier incl, particularly, when files have been renamed, & can see the new filenames in full. ta so much for this app being available. it solved huge issues for me in seeing images in a sensible order. android pie can't even put some of them in alpha order, but this app can. it handles folders EXTREMELY well.
This is an absolute powerhouse of an app. Any problems mentioned in these reviews is 100% user error or being cheap. I have used this app for years and can't imagine working without it. With a calibrated field display I produce files for clients same day, often before leaving. It can do everything. I don't even bother to use my laptop anymore. If you want to be a photographer then get used to tools that aren't shiny and cute. Or stick with using an iPhone so you won't have to think so hard.
It looks like it would be very useful, but after one use where everything works, 'Develop' mode just tells me I must have an internet connection, which I do, so not clear what its problem is. Reinstalling fixes it temporarily, but is not very convenient! To the dev: full-screen unskippable video ads are the reason I have an ad-blocker. I WILL NOT watch such garbage just to use your app, so I will never know if it worth paying for.
The only reason this app is getting a lower rating is that it's simply way to much app for a mobile device. This is basically a full blown photoshop like app which is really only usable on something larger. Would be great for a chrome book, and better if compiled for MS Windows or iOS. The other problems that arose during trial were mainly associated with folder and file access. It was extremely hard to get the app set up to find and use folders other than the default.
Oof, no updates in a year? This app is the best app for viewing raw files from my camera on the go. But it doesn't properly rotate portrait or upside down thumbnails. Really annoying to get within 1mm of what I was after.
I've only been using this a day and love it! I've been able to ditch lightroom and totally support paying for this as i can get pretty much all the features i need and the ability to organize my photos and actually Export as for lightroom mobile you can even use it fully without an internet connection, which totally defeats the purpose for traveling photographers or airport layover time. For any professional photographer this app Highly recommended! You can even watermark!
I really wanted this app to work, but it keeps crashing on Google Pixelbook. The hardware should not be the limitation here... not sure what's going on, but when I try to load in a few dozen .arw (raw sony) files it crashes before I can even start eding. If this gets fixed by developers I would definitely be ready to buy the full version but as of now it's not functional...
If using an SD card adaptor plugged into your charge port and edit directly from the card, be careful. While editing from the card, it must've came loose and it deleted 3/4 of my photos! Now I'm not blaming the app soley but I've never had this happen with other apps..
Purchaced for the network browsing function of raw files located on my server. This app is very glitchy - often freezing and crashing. Some functions clearly dont work - not able to copy/download image file from server to device for editing. Cant seem to remove network devices from within the app itself - albeit a fresh install might do this. Clunky and glitchy - hope my purchace and review goes someway to the apps development. I'll be dropping it from my workflow- dissapointed.
Really great app for this price point but can't combine images. My oneplus 6 has a good processor but still the app crashes everytime I try to combine images. Tried panorama, HDR and noise reduction merging ( Nikon raw files) . Please fix asap and get 5 stars π
I have been using this app for a few weeks now and it's great until today. for some reason it won't load my images completely like it's still buffing. it's making editing impossible as it's made my clear shots pixelated and I have purchased your full app. please can you fix
Fujifilm raw processing doesn't work properly. Many images (in develop) appear colour casted with a dotted grid. The app also crashes when entering develop mode when in a folder full of Fujifilm raw images. Latest update has made no difference to Fuji raw problem.
One star because app won't open JPGs on a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 created with a Sony RX10 iii. The specific error msg is "Error reading image data. The file file_name_here.JPG may be corrupted." Other apps open the JPGs without errors indicating the JPGs are OK.
Delete button is right next to develop button with no confirm delete dialogue. I wasn't able to get an HDR in post by combining 2 images. Now one of them is deleted by this app so I'm done for now and uninstalling. Bye!
Seems perfect, but I cannot give it write access to ext SD card folder. The message explains what to do on the next menu, but there is NO next anything and I can't get out of the instruction dialog. How does this work?
Intrusive apps. I was just looking to see if the DNG denoiser for Samsung recent phones would work better than Lightroom mobile but it's not worth the hassle of enduring a 30 seconds ads video.
It will read the raw files in the viewer but when I go to develop the app crashes, it also says the PEF Pentax raw files are corrupted which they are not. Was going to purchase but I won't bother now
The free version of this is great. And the paid version is astounding! This is like getting the power of Lightroom for $10. Perfect execution on this app thank you so much.
best purchase I made on google store. it has all the Lighroom features but at a better price. when traveling (without notebook) I still use to shot raw with my Mirrorless and Dslr camera and edit than the pictures with my Phone.
Miles ahead of Lightroom for Fuji raws, very close to desktop Capture One in its rendering. Some odditys in the interface (the curve panel mind-bogglingly lowers the brightness of the picture it is superposed upon for exemple, so it's impossible to use full screen and see the final result - you can use it on the side as any other panel though) but otherwise a very full fledged piece of software. I even ditched my laptop and use the app only for photo editing, the "derawtisation" is that good!
