Photo Text ASCII Art
Find a cool picture while browsing the net? No problem, just long press on the picture and select "share image" from the pop-up menu and then select Photo Text from the list to convert it to ASCII art.
This program creates a shaded mosaic representation of the photograph or picture you selected, where the image pixels are represented by different letters, numbers and other text characters. Before converting the photograph into text, you have the option to crop and select any smaller region of the picture to use.
With a single press of a button this app creates elaborate ASCII character text art from the photograph or picture you selected and displays it on the screen. You can then experiment with various options, including font size as well as the desired number of characters used in the generated ASCII art before saving the results. You can also specify the background as well as text colour used and whether you want the image to be a negative (light text on dark background).
The generated ASCII text art can be exported to social media, shared as email or saved on your device different formats:
1. Render to a png image file. 2. Save or share the ASCII art text as simple text.3. Save or share the ASCII art as an HTML document.4. Copy the text to your device's clipboard and paste directly into any other app, such as email, text document etc.
If you saved as text or copied to clipboard, remember that the text must be set to a mono-spaced font (each character is the same width) to correctly view the ASCII art.

Why I chose 3 stars is because you cant really select the pictures that uses the back camera and it only works for the front camera for selfies but I have to turn the phone backwards to take a picture and add a update so the ascii could read the back camera
Awesome app. Works well. A neat addition would be to allow more than 1 color of text. Say I wanted purple and green. I don't see anyway to do that currently. Great app 5*
This works as described but could you please add a way to lower the ASCII resolution? It is too wide to be properly pasted into most things. Apologies if I just simply missed it.
It doesn't format properly for any texting apps I use, and I tested it in Snapchat, Instagram, Gmail, and the standard Messages.
Well, unable to use it. When I try to load images, it doesn't load. Nothing happens.
Doesn't works, it always stop answer when I try to share the image....
I would of rated it a 5 starts buttor doesn't work on texting apps that I use

very neat utility. I like it a lot. The ability to choose my own text works well for me (if not for some reviewers) and is a neat way to encode subliminal affirmations into images for my desktop wallpaper - if I wish to. Only obvious thing I can think of that I'd like added is to be able to set the default save folder.
The app is very nice and very useful, but i gave 4 stars for a reason. When i put the max limit as 1024 it loads and after all the loading i get a black screen, it gets me annoyed because i want pictures that are high quality but all i get is a black screen. Please fix.
Whenever I tried to copy the text to a different app, the picture that the text created wasn't there. It was just a jumble of random symbols.
How to lag your phone:step 1 put 1024 as the max limit of numbers and things.step 2: put a picture and tada your phone (atleast for me) will lag like mad
I love it but I won't let me copy more than 1,500characters if they can get this fixed I would love it
There is no way to choose what text makes up the photo. Why wouldn't u let people choose the text that makes up the photo. This is retarded
Edit : use this calculation to use it without lag 4096 ÷ fonts size = width[character] or change 4096 to 8192 work everytime!

App does what it says, But I would love to have the feature of custom text, where the whole image is made out of one word. Overall great app.

It doesn't allow you to type in your custom text. Although advertised that way, it doesn't let you do so.

This app us amazing. It creates perfect ascii renditions of your photographs in seconds... the look like black and white photos.... until you zoom in and see they are made up of lines of typed characters!
