Keeping things simple and easy to use is THE supreme priority for the developers involved. Though still subject to improve, PhotoCast in its current state is exactly that
- easy and straightforward. Saying that, PhotoCast nevertheless claims to make use of a very unique feature provided by Google Chromecast. With Chromecast being in fact the first cast device allowing for easy and simultaneous interaction of multiple users, developers took care to keep this possibility.

Seem to have problems with folders containing too many images. These folders won't even appear in the app.
There doesn't appear to be an option for choosing folders to display. I would like to be able to select multiple folders from my device and have those cast, and repeat until I stop. Will we see such functionality?
You just said sorting is now included with the update a few days ago. There is NO sorting available anywhere! Please explain. What about sorting the folders themselves??? This is Apps 101 for heaven's sake!
BRILLIANT AP. DOES WHAT GOOGLE PHOTOS CANT DO ON ITS OWN WITH LOTS OF MY DEVICES. IF YOU HAVE A GALAXY S8 THIS AP WILL SOLVE YOUR GOOGLE PHOTOS CASTING PROBLEMS. NOW ALLOWS ALL OF MY SAMSUNG DEVICES TO CAST GOOGLE PHOTOS AND VIDEOS PERFECTLY. WELL DONE TO THE CREATORS FOR DOING WHAT GOOGLE HAS FAILED TO DO...
It would not detect local video movies, only stills. However, I needed to cast the videos. Turns out that only videos already uploaded to Google can be cast. That requires you to first upload to the cloud then download again to view your video. Very inefficient from a data flow standpoint. If they would fix that it might be a good app. Seems like an artificial limit since it can see the stills saved locally.
I love the idea of this app. Major problem is when casting to Nvidia Shield the app does not fill the screen ie black bars at right side and bottom. Also random shuffle of album would be nice. I would love to see this app eventually get pan and scan and transition options.
Better resolution than casting from Photos, but as others have reported, does not fill the screen when casting to the ShieldTV at 4k, so doesnt work for me.
This app does not work at all it don't even have a button to cast to my TV which is that's what I need to cast to my TV
Works reliably from Google Photos. Would love the option to select multiple folders and also display photos in a random order. Thanks for a great app.
I loved this app. But haven't showed thumbnails on the phone and I have located difficult the position on maps view
Excellent supplement to Google Photos which doesn't continue to cast when your device sleeps. PHOTOCAST DOES! and allows a mininal 3 sec per slide and different display formats. Appreciate the minimalist approach, however an Album Search and Scroll by Date feature would make the app perfect! Thanks
Fast and easy to watch pictures on tv with chromecast. BUT I do miss sorting option. It seems the sorting is kind of random. Otherwise very nice.
To cast pictures from your device - Works fine, simple and effective user interface. I love it. However it does not cast your local video clips. I hope that ability will be added soon.
Work !! straight away and has viewing option... after too much frustration trying another apps
After a while with the slideshow of Google Photos, I find it freezes the slideshow on the Chromecast. I don't mind to pay for this app if the developer would fix this and also improve the photo resolution. I have tried the same slideshow with Roku and the photo resolution is fine the way it is.
It's not working at all it doesn't even tell me what the cast do I can't do it to my fire stick TV nothing it won't work too bad I'm deleting it if it has some updates to know like you who pick which TV to go into and it will actually work I will I will rate five stars!
Excellent app works better than google photos app, excellent picture quality and smooth video playing unlike the google photos app that buffer a lot. Would be nice to be able to search google photos though.
Great app but there should be an option to sort the images based on file names, date etc. Until then only worth 2 stars since the transferred images appear randomly even if numbered sequentially.
Works really well. Upload of images quite fast compared to some other apps. Three second slide show is great. Having ability to create a play list would make this app even better.
A little leery at first, but it has proven to be a good way to cast images to the Chromecast dongle. Local videos seem to work, too...

Wanted simple app to cast photos. No ads. It is exactly what wanted.
Hi!!! Is there a way I can cast a image folder, and this folder can be re scan, so if theres new pictures, they will appear on the chromecast? Right now it works fine, but if I add new pictures to the same folder, it does not re-scan the folder, so I have to go back and open the folder again to do the re-scan... Thanks!

Useless app. Pl donot waste time
Nice, easy to use, and works well last I'm very pleased. My only request - can there be a setting to let the slideshow loop? It displays each image and stops, so I keep having to restart it!
