It's excellent - but with a significant limitation, it works great for smaller folders, but it always times out with a large folder (over wifi), that wouldn't be so bad except that it doesn't actually transfer anything before it times out, so that you can't just restart the transfer and finish up. If it can't handle large transfers, it needs a way to break them up into smaller ones, either automatically or manually.

Five stars for efficiency, three stars for initial ease of use and learning curve ... the documentation is below average. Once you figure out that both devices have to be on the same network **AND** that the receiving device is set to RECEIVE (the default is SEND), transfers of stills and/or video is fast and painless. The sender chooses where the files are stored. You simply select the images to send, hit the send icon and ... voila! I purchased the "upgrade" for extra utilities and no ads.

So far, I'm loving this app. Does what it says. I'm backing up all my photos that are on my phone, to my Home NAS Cloud. All my folders are going up as they are on my phone, invoicing my SD card. I only wish, it would back up data (documents, music, downloads, etc) I'll update review after it finishes uploading all 38,338 pictures.

I've really enjoyed using the app. It backs-up my videos and pictures flawlessly! My only complaint is the lack of HEIC/HEIF to JPEG and HEVC to H264 conversion that is present on the IOS version of the app. Newer phones, like the S20, can take HEIF photos and HEVC videos and they're great for saving space on one's phone. The problem is that most back-up solutions and playback software currently lack compatibility with these newer formats. Devs, you have a great product! Please just give us this little bit of functionality and it'll be perfect!

Was going to try it to use to back up my photos to an NAS but it requires the upgraded version. Which I was still interested in depending on the cost once the 7 day free trial was over. I looked everywhere in google play store, in the app, etc. and nowhere do they tell you what the cost will be even after clicking on ok for the free trial. Well I will NEVER ever agree to an open ended purchase like that. So I immediately uninstalled it. A shame because if I knew the cost I might have purcased it

The app works well and has a lot of customization to allow moving photos and videos to many different devices, and services. The developer has been quick to respond to questions and issues. My only complaints are that the auto sync add on doesn't always, but that's probably partly to do with background task control. The bigger one is while the service will move videos, there is no way to automatically have it put videos in one place and pictures in another. I have to do it as two transfers.

I have been using this app for many years now and it is superb. It simplifies the management of photos and is great for transferring images to/from a computer and mobile device. Ads are non-intrusive if you use the free version and the premium addons also work very well. This is one of the best apps for this purpose and it does what it advertises superbly.

I have had this app for 6 months. I also work in I.T and am very confident in my ability to work and learn in much more complex programs. I have not been able to get this app to work automatically a single time. No matter how I set it up, my computer, nor my home network. I am currently reinstalling the computer side of the application. I'm going to continue to assume I have been missing something and go take another look at the help pages. 3 stars because while the automated part doesn't work it still backs up my data which is the most important.

Has a problem sometimes with trying to get it to go to the right folder and doesn't tell you how to delete albums from the list otherwise it does transfer and send. I like it but wish a manual came with it. But is good if you can't download from your phone to your computer and vice versa and can do a transfer of just one without going through a whole file to get one photo or file. Up to you how you feel about how it works on your devices. UPDATE: My laptop broke down and had o buy another. This app, will not let me out it onto this new device. No idea on how to change it . Tried uninstalling but the store keeps saying it is installed and will not recognise the device I am using. Anybody got any ideas?.

I give up. I've tried this app for 3 weeks and it's never been seamless. It usually cannot find my computer despite the 2 other options it gives to try to do so. Today, I was able to get it to work. Thirty minutes later, I needed to transfer new photos and all of a sudden it could find my computer. I tired every suggestion given, did a force stop, shut down and restarted both my computer and my phone. Nothing. Such a good idea. Bummed it didn't work out for me.

Looked great, has lots of potential but let down in operation. I have thousands of photos on a SD card. I have several destinations, including my nas, google photos, amazon photos to name a few. I want automatic upload to all three, just in case something happens to one. Unfortunately, you can only pick ONE destination. Why allow many destinations if you can only pick one? Then, i may upload to different destinations at different times. I dont want to have to remember what i uploaded to which device. This app makes you select photos to upload first. Why cant it remember what you uploaded to which device? Looked very promising, nice layout, nice design but functionality is just not up to it. Also Amazon drive connection doesn't work, despite it working via my web. could be just a glitch

Essential app for transferring photos and videos from Android to Windows and more. I'm using the paid version and it automatically copies new photos to my NAS. The Windows Photos app keeps freezing and won't import from my phone, probably bc there are too many photos. Photosync bypasses that and lets you choose what to sync from your phone, plus it works over wifi so no USB cable needed. I don't want to go through a cloud service to transfer photos.

Right now PhotoSync does not talk to other apps, but it would be nice to add integration with other popular apps. I receive a lot of photos through messaging apps, like WhatsApp or Messages. It would be great if it was possible to sync photos from certain WhatsApp contacts, but not others. Right now, I can add the folders where these apps store their photos, but this is not ideal since not all contacts send me stuff I'd like to sync (for exame, pics of my nephew vs memes from a group chat).

This App is amazing!!!! It really deserves TEN STARS. Copying photos to a new phone has never been easier and that's only the start. You can back up photos to your PC or your NAS drive or to the cloud and it can all be automated. I got stuck when I first started using it and sent an email to Hendrick and got an almost instant answer. So TEN STARS for support also.

License is per device? sure, I've seen it before, but I don't like it, especially for an app that is meant to sync across multiple devices, implying the functionality should work for all. But I can't even buy a second license for my second device. I try to go to the app store and buy it, but Google says I already own the app and just blocks my purchase. so... that needs to change.

This thing does exactly what it says it will do. That's not as obvious as it may sound if you have tried any number of similar apps, and Lord help your sanity if you've struggled with Android Transfer and a USB cable. I've held off rating this app expecting the worst. It works - I've now transferred hundreds of full resolution Pixel 2 images to a MacBook pro. (WiFi via Verizon G1100 dual band router @ 100/100).

It is an excellent app to backup the phone photos and vedios on laptop / PC. It would have been better if the app showed the actual progress of transfer on the laptop screen while the transfer is going on. Another suggestion if the filter opotions of the app on both the phone side as well the pc side, were more easy to choose, and more filter options.

Mic. M. Jun 18, 2019

Works great but... Easily copies selected photos to my computer. However I frequently need to restart the service on my computer as the app frequently does not detect any devices running the service. Even when I just successfully copied a handful of images to my computer only 5 minutes earlier. Also it would be nice if the app remembered the device type and I did not need to select "Computer" each time I was ready to transfer additional images.

Fantastic app! I have it on both my phone and tablet. Syncing to my NAS using the SMB plugin works flawlessly. Highly recommended. The add-on mechanism is very well done. I really only need the NAS add-on to allow SMB transfers. Even better: only need to purchase the one add-on, and it works on both devices. I'll likely get the full bundle to do syncing to Google Drive. Author responds quickly to my few questions. 5 stars!

Love it. Reliable, versatile, easy to configure, easy to use. Its ability to remember what it has already uploaded, and not re-upload a photo that has been intentionally deleted from the server is really useful. That allows me to prune photos on the server without having them reappear.

I really like the convenience of this application being able to transfer media data wirelessly to my PC.. One caveat I discovered and was cause to change my rating from 5 star to 4-star. When I attempt to transfer media from smartphone to my Google Photos (GP) account I consistently get an error message 'Error in resumableUploadGetSession' I am properly logged into my GP account but still the same in every attempt to transfer. Furthermore, PhotoSync settings does not allow change to the GP upload default album 'Photos'. I even created a 'Photos' account in GP but still the uploads fail with above error message. This is a bug that needs to be fixed. Also, the settings are a bit difficult to follow. They need to be rewritten to somehow be more intuitive to understand. I did upgrade to the bundle as I have cloud accounts as well as a home NAS. Even so, I can not connect to GP. Also, I can not upload to my Google Drive (GD) account either. I am told 'My Drive' can not be loaded. So, don't expect sync'ing between PhotoSync and cloud services to work properly. Smartphone to PC works, and then I have to necessarily syn from my PC to GD and GD. A suggestion for improvement. Add the ability to transfer data files (i.e., PDF, etc.) as well.

Gad. D. Jun 2, 2019

its easy to set up and use, however if trying to back up all albums, it lumps the files all together in one folder removing the folders that they were originally in. you also cant select multiple individual folders to send to target, you're forced to do them one by one. this is an ok app for simple backups, but if you want to back up all albums, this app likely will make you want to pull your hair out.

Really useful app but I have one issue. Videos transferred from Windows to my Galaxy S8 show up in the gallery with duration as 0:00. The videos play fine in media player BUT when posting videos longer than 60 seconds to Instagram, it does not show the "post to IGTV" option, because it doesn't recognize the true duration. If this can be fixed that would make the app perfect.

This is the best photo transfer app that I found so far. It's very quick and I love the fact that if there are new photos added, it recognizes them and adds only the new photos when downloading them. Sometimes it misses some of the photos though. I'm not sure why. Overall it's a great app & easy to use.

Shi. N. May 15, 2022

Great app. However, it's sad you can't autotransfer to mobile even after upgrade ("autotransfer" description does not claim phone, but it's natural someone to expect base functionality in the free version to be carried forwarded to the paid upgrade, but sadly not!). Other than that, great app!

Ale. G. Aug 26, 2019

Very disappointed in the app description. In a section titled "ABOUT 'FREE' PHOTOSYNC" it has a bullet point that states "Automatically backup photos & videos in the background to pre-selected targets (computer, NAS, cloud and photo services)" but this feature is NOT free. Or I couldn't find a "backup" feature that was separate from the "autotransfer" feature. I understand it not being free, but you shouldn't SAY it's free if it's not. For an app with this much credibility, it's very disappointing.

This is not a sync app. You can transfer files but it will just makes duplicates of everything you send. It uses no remote file checking to synchronize files, only local flagging. There is no file deletion synchro either. This is just a good file copy programme. This app needs more work and add some smarts before calling it a synch app.
