Picarto.TV

It used to be the best app to watch Picarto when you were away from your computer, now it seems to be just an afterthought as the devs never update it anymore. Sometimes it fails to load streams on any connection which can't be simply fixed by clearing the cache or deleting the data. You have to uninstall the app in its entirety and reinstall it, which is very annoying, not to mention the buggy splash screen that hangs unless you tap the screen to force it to go away. What a shame.

Actually just a hunk of junk that never works. If the main menu doesn't load, you can sure bet that the stream you click on won't instead, and it's not even a WiFi issue. I've been between two houses, one with way better WiFi, I've used data and nothing works. I'd say use the browser version, but it's hardly an upgrade.

This app need an update. The last time they updated it was in May 2016. The app could be so much better. If you hit the full-screen button, it turns like it's supposed to but keeps the video playing at half the screen size. The video stream cuts out often. They also need to add split screen from Android so I can keep watching while doing other things. Also, where is the Android TV app? This is a video app so why don't they have that also. Besides all of that, it's a bit less than an okay app. It just needs some work.

EDIT: since the recent update, the app has stopped randomly crashing. However, the newest problem is that it randomly and frequently force signs out. Closing out the app and opening it again after it does this causes a black screen. When this happens, I have to delete all the data for the app and sign in...yet again. Trying not to complain much about the issues this app sometimes has, but they can be a little frustrating. Otherwise, I can see streams and interact with others just fine.

Update: Better, the livestream itself is running a lot more smoothly then it last was that's for sure. Still getting a few jumps just not as frequent as they use to bt to the point where I forget. One problem with this though, the only way for me to watch a stream is through the emails I get. Whenever I try to open the app it still doesn't want to load. And when ever I do get to a stream, the chat box doesn't load at all so I don't know who is talking. But it's getting better.

This app is extremely unstable. When it does work it's fine. But after a few days of use it black screens permanently. Only way to fix this is to uninstall, redownload and relog. Please fix this. The whole point of an app like this is to improve the mobile video experience. This app does the opposite, it makes everything worse. Might as watch picarto using your web browser on your phone instead.

Well, it works, but there are a few problems. I always have to sign in again after a few days, and if I'm watching streams in full-screen, there's a vertical bar on the right side of the screen where i still see a part of the screen (e. g. the explore screen).(mi 9t pro, 19.5:9 screen ratio). Besides this i haven't experienced any problems with the app.

It's good but needs work. Quite buggy and unpredictable sometimes. Some features like streamer notifications won't stay on when you click it and picture in picture mode may not be working? It could use a section that walks you through the app, it's features and how to use them. Basically the app is a bit fidgety and annoying but works for the most part. Edit: this app is terrible. It doesn't send notifications and it's so buggy..

App is completely unusable after the most recent Picarto update. Stream previews appear on the main screen, but streams do not load. I get "Video Unavailable" and "Channel does not exist" errors when opening an active stream. My only option if I want to watch on mobile is to do it in browser, which is its own flavor of awful. Given that the app was last updated in 2019, I think it's fair to say at this point the app's a surefire uninstall for anyone who still has it.

It's a good app, I can watch videos with perfect clarity, but most times when I want to get back it, it won't load anything on my screen of what is going on and the artist I follow if they are live, and it always happens around the evening times everything goes dark in my area. I know this is an app bug, (not to mention the site too having its own problem with me but that is another post all together) but for the love of God fix this so streaming can be more functional.

I would say the whole UI needs an overhaul. It works but is no where easy to navigate through channels I follow and the only way to get to it is to jump through hoops. Also, notifications for when someone goes online never works and the app always logs me out. There is not permanent log in feature so I miss my channels that go live. It DOES, however, work. Hence the 2 stars.

If I can actually get into the app, it's fine! Works great! But roughly 8 times out of 10, when I open the app, I get the Picarto splash screen, then a blank black screen. I have to close and restart the app multiple times until I can get in. And now it seems I can't get in at all.

The worst app for streams. It does not show notifications. You have to go to the in app settings to turn on notifications everyday (which does not work, it would be better if they remove the feature). Each day you will find new heights of disappointment which will amaze and infuriate you at the same time. If I could give it zero stars I would do that GLADLY.

The application is often unstable to the point of crashing—resizing the application's window forces Picarto to restart (and therefore kick out of the stream it was showing)—login info does not save if the app is unused for a few days. Not to mention, the experience, although functionally identical to the browser version, is just slow in general. Picarto can do better than what I have experienced in using the mobile app.

The app currently is still pretty broken. I don't know what the team keeps doing. Why the home page doesn't display correctly. People I follow aren't for some reason the first thing I see. Why video streams infinitely load and chats simply don't work. There are countless issues. Picarto needs to really step up and do patches now. But instead they're painfully slow in comparison to other apps that had the basics down from the get go. Picarto still can't seem to even find that in their own app...

The app is usable, but it's very buggy and needs to be refined much more for mobile users. A lot of the time it'll spam me notifications over a period of a few hours that a streamer is streaming, in this case it's one that I specifically turned off notifications for and it sends them anyway Meanwhile I try to turn on notifications for other streamers and it doesn't work. I would recommend using another app to stream on.

Nothing works, can't search streams, watch any recommended, nor any I've followed in the slightest. Anytime I try to open my account settings to maybe even see what if nsfw filters were bothered with and automatically changed, it crashes completely. I guess I can be thankful it signs me in perfectly now, that much works, plus the click to start welcome page, everything after is a disaster.

Picarto's app is one of the worst made apps I've ever seen. It's buggy, never knows Howe to get it right in any iteration they put out, doesn't stay connected when in bg on Android or ios which makes their whisper system garbage and frustrating. It overrides portrait lock, not even YouTube does that, and it's landscape format is garbage. That being said it's the only app for the platform, but it has never been made right in any version. Download if you want, but it's definitely frustrating.

Finally actually works semi-consistently, but like others have said constantly having to re-log makes using the app super tedious, I can't rate this higher than three stars till theres some kind of remember password function, or fingerprint login. (ideally both). It would also be a plus if you stopped telling me people I follow dont match my preferences when theres no controls for "my" preferences.

Garbage! Twice now this thing goes into this weird state where the streams you follow don't even work. And it gets even better, now it doesn't recognize one of my friends who has a page like she has none when I search for her, yet I still get notifications when she goes online, and of course when I try to click on her stream it just sits there and loads and never stops loading regardless of internet connection. Rhis is the second time this app is gone haywire, I've uninstalled and reinstalled.

I have had a much, much better experience after the updates. Streams seem to pause if you tab out of them, so we could really use a button to return to the live time without closing and reopening the whole stream. Picture-in-picture would be cool for multitasking as well.

Doesn't let you stay signed in. I have to log back in every day I want to watch a stream, and if I don't log in for a while it stops giving notifications of streams starting. I have to reinstall the app about once a month because after that much time it loads to a blank screen. Force quiting the app or restarting my phone does nothing to fix the issue.

App never works. Try to launch several times and results with nothing happening. The off chance that it works, I have to sign in several times because the Remember Me function doesn't work. It's incredibly frustrating when I follow my favorite artists on Twitter and the links they put launch straight to the app that does not function.
