Picmonic

Using pictures to help remember things is great and all... but it would be FAR more useful if what was going on in the pictures was somewhat consistent to one overarching scenario. The things going on in many of the pictures are often times so random, that I'm more so just trying to remember what was in each picture than the medical topics they're supposed to help me remember. The information itself is good though.

Picmonic saves a ton of my study time! All the hard work is completely eliminated. I just play them and take daily quizzes and soon, I have memorized them all. AMAZING!! I also love that I can see how I am doing against fellow users and motivate myself to do more. All I do is to setup my Playlists by selecting the chapters of my book or searching specific picmonics relevant to the lectures in the Browse or Search feature. I would NEVER be able to memorize so much so fast without Picmonic!!!

Lots of bugs in the app. Sound plays independently of video image and they rarely line up. I've closed the app and the sound is still playing.

Best learning resource ever!!!! Well there are a few suggestion I think are crucial for making picmonic a complete package. 1 - During quizzes there is a blue box that covers part of the drawing. Please add an option where the entire picture is covered entirely. I find myself looking at the blue box most of the time to find the answer without reading the question. It defeats the purpose. 2 - Allow us to take quizzes in order. This is a very helpful feature for biochemistry and cycles.

I have to say haven't gotten fully into the app, but I'm already disappointed. I downloaded the app one time trial. I was able to engage in 1 lesson. I was absolutely in love with layout as they were broken by subjects and areas of study . I really excited. However, after paying for the subscription the layout is totally different. It is not broken down by areas of study, as in the free download. I'm going to play with it for a few days. But I'm seriously thinking about unsubscribing.

Throughout med school everyone has always talked about SketchyMedical but there were so many times where I felt like it was just as much effort (if not more) to memorize their intricate drawings than it was to just memorize the facts. I have a very short attention span and always struggled with pure memorization. Picmonic seems to be doing a great job for me while I prepare for my first round of Step/COMLEX exams. I really love how concise the videos are but also the variety of topics covered!

Wonderful app. Disappointed that the paramedic package skips essentials of any paramedic or EMT program. Anatomy pathways are lacking complete systems for comprehensive review. Graphics and audio are exceptionally creative and well done. But aspect ratio issues cause image distortion. Inability to zoom onto images makes mobile use tedius. Having flashcards with individual image elements would be a nice touch. To be useful, buy the MD/DO package and make playlists.

The 7 day free trial is a con and a trap! I subscribed to the free trial to see if this type of thing would help me, and though it was beneficial, it was not the best study tool for me, so I canceled the day before the end of my "free trial." But the Picmonic folks and the Google Play folks obviously teamed up to make money by tricking people, because even though I canceled my subscription one full day before I was to be charged for the year, it was too late and I was forced to pay for a year.

Effective app for visual learners to consolidate memory

Best app for retention of information. During exams I'm able to recall information because of picmonic. Stories are short, simple to the point, easy to understand and most importantly easy to remember. I love the quizzes after the picmonic. It's like a game! Learning this way is so much fun!

Yeah, there are some weird stories and things on here. But it makes you remember!!! It is accurate and really amazing. When I am taking my tests I think back and can sed all the pictures in my head. Do each story and quiz once and you wont forget. Dont regret subscribing to them, great content and affordable. I went from Bs to As!

I opted for the paid subscription without trying the free version, as I had read a lot of positives about Picmonic online. This app really helps me learn and recall information quickly. I wasn't sure if the images in this app would help me retain info, but they absolutely do! I'm in school for RPN (Ontario, Canada), but selected the RN stream because it was more comprehensive, and also offered digital parts of several of the textbooks I use in my RPN program. Worth the money.

Great website, but not a lot of options in the app. Would love to adjust the size of the quizzes or be able to block out whole picture when taking the quizzes and just show them after you answer. Step 1 isn't going to have pictures like this to jog your memory.

Most effective learning tool I've found. I'm learning considerably quickly. I would recommend this app for anyone. While this appears to be the best tool out there for learning efficiently, I hope to see improvement in the Quizzes and Reviews. At least for Anatomy (That is mainly what I've studied so far with Picmonic.)

In nursing school and this app allows me the ability tostudy anywhere, anytime. Even with my busy mom schedule I am able to tackle the difficult topics easily

I reached out to customer support & they helped me gain access to the medical terminology section which currently isn't listed as an option in the app on an android. They're looking into it & were super helpful, caring, responsive, and kind. I really appreciated that. Now that I have access to the med term module, I'm super happy with it :)

Love it, I feel like I'm actually learning/retaining the information instead of just being sucked into a vortex of confusion. The stories/explanations blend perfectly with the pictures and if I'm not sure of the answer to a quiz question as soon as I see the picture I can immediately associate what the clinical term is. I wish all my testing for school was like this.

So far really useful. Breaks information down in an easy way to understand and remember.

I haven't yet decided for free trial, I don't want to waste it right now. Someone said it was like $13/month. When I went into it, I saw 1 video. It was really funny, entertaining, and informative. I will use this app in the future.

This app has been a great resource for nursing school. I have a hard time memorizing, but I'm great at understanding the bigger picture. Picmonic helps me fill I that gap, and I love the structure and extra help they give to maximize learning. They seem to really care about their product and care about helping its users.

It's engaging and helps me remember diseases and assessments as whole systems instead of isolated facts. It's addicting to do, so even though it's not the most rigorous, it's great to use in combo with other, detailed study materials from your professors. It's the only app I've felt compelled to pay money for so far, and it's worth it.

Picmonic is the best study companion. I am a nursing student and I was extremely nervous about the NCLEX. Lectures and reading I was having a difficult time retaining the info. Picmonic saved the day! I am a visual learner and this way of studying is by far the best plus the daily quizzes on past slides totally help retain all the info for NCLEX. Thank you Picmonic!

I just started using Picmonic for RN. So far I really like it. It was crashing very frequently. I emailed the team, and an update to the app fixed the issue on my phone! Thank you for the quick and effective assistance and fix. I subscribed and look forward to learning!
