It is very accurate and indispensible if you love nature's creatures. I highly recommend the app. However, sometimes i open the app and it wants to know what the correct identification is and I have no idea what insect it is talking about? The frustrating part it will not let me get off that window to use on another ID. The only way I've found is to restart my phone which is very troublesome!

Very good system for identification, but you need to use this to enhance your own taxonomic knowledge. Do t depend on it 100%. Had a scenario where the app was convinced it was looking at a bedbug, when the animal was clearly some type of beetle. Know your bugs a little first, or at least the difference between flies, true bugs, arachnids, hymenoptera, and mites is a good start. Then snap away and see all the neat little subspecies you can find!

Amazing and Perfect! I just put a photo of a bug and it tells me what it is! Even old pictures of random bugs i thought were cool from months ago sitting in my phone gallery. Instantly and correctly identified. So far it's worked for bugs in different life stages such as a caterpillar that becomes a moth. It tries to get you to buy premium, but i just closed the pop up and it seems to work just fine for free so far! Love it!

Perfect 👌 I can't see how anyone can say any different. It does EXACTLY what it is meant for. I haven't had to pay for anything and it still accurately identifies the insects I take a picture of, with tons of details/info and relative pictures. If your looking for a all around functional bug identifier, then this app is where its at. Period

Picture insect is the coolest app I've ever used, oh, besides the plant identifier app, I appreciate both. I'm glad I thoroughly made sure I new what kind of bug that was in the cravises of my couch before attempting to do kill it. I have been having meanual problems with a couple of critters in the dark corners In my apartment.. using the picture insect bug app feels me in on good information on the critters. it gives me collection of up to day info. and alows me to take action if needed...

Cla. H. May 21, 2022

was able to identify my first bug within seconds off a blurry photo. When I compared the result the species was definitely the same one I had taken a picture of. if you need to identify bugs, this app works.

I downloaded about 8 insect identifiers that had tons of ads and this is the only one (not so many) that correctly identified my catapiller BUT it took 13 tries to get it right and I'll give most of the blame to the device camera so out of all I like this one best.

Unfortunately the insect flew away before could use the newly installed app because of the app's registration processes, Google Login etc. Maybe less bureaucracy next time. First three snaps for free right after installing the app would be an idea. Now I have to go search for the insect. Other than this it is probably a good app but I will look for another one. And the insect.

I just got a new phone and when I tried to log in it charged me for a yearly subscription even though I already have one that's good til August. How do I get a refund? This app really isn't worth the $60 I've paid for it. Update: I tried contacting customer service and they ignored me. Big surprise. Bunch of crooks!

It satisfies my curiosity, but there are limitations. It would be nice to have the option of selecting what stage in the life cycle the insect is before taking a photo to identify insect. At the very least, when an insect is identified there should be pictures of it in all the stages of its life cycle. The app will often show photos of every life stage except the first one, egg. When I'm trying to figure out what bug is eating my clothes knowing what its eggs look like would be very helpful.

Maybe I haven't given it enough time, but couldn't identify a common local anthropod. Maybe due to region (South Africa). On attempting to correct the find in my collection, App says thank you for your contribution, but does not correct the incorrect label on my collection photo.

Very spam filled. It wants you to sign up at a expensive premium and it can't even identify basic things. Almost like it's just guessing. Not worth even trying out since you're better off using Google Lens.

After years of crippling arachnophobia I have started making giant leaps. I just found this app and I'm excited to learn about the different spiders and my yard. Not to mention the other cool bugs we have. First bug identified....Giant Wetland Wolf Spider. For someone that's suffered arachnophobia most of her life.... I'm pretty proud I got close enough to get a good picture of Charolette to get her identified....

The app has a lot of potential and works well for basic bugs, but it lacks information on a lot of insects outside the US. For example, it can't identify most South American insects and confuses them with American ones, which are neither rare nor poisonous. I believe this app will be great in a few months/years as long as they keep updating their insect catalogue and improving it to identify insects all over the world, not just the US.

Immediate free trial, app requires payment after 3 days. Does not even identify insects, tried multiple times with different pictures. Gave up, deleted it, didn't cancel trial and got charged 21 euros for a subscription of a year, on a trash app that doesn't even work properly. Then all of a sudden, my previous 1 star review was gone, so here's a new one to make sure it stays

I work in Pest Control and this app helps me a lot. I had a problem identifying an insect I've never seen before and emailed them. I received a response and sent them a video. They were able to help me out. I highly recommend this app.

Lez. C. May 4, 2022

I expected to have as much difficulty identifying this insect as I normally do identifying plants, but it went right to it and they looked exactly alike and I'm so relieved. thank you for developing a program that is actually helpful.

Kai. May 9, 2022

If I could give this app 0 stars I would. It has failed me many times so I decided to try one of my tarantulas thinking there's no way it could get that wrong, and it couldn't even identify the correct species. Completely useless.

Dan. S. May 29, 2022

Okay, just to get this out there... it's not very accurate. Let me explain, I took a picture of my sister, just to see if it'd say"no results" but, that's not the case. This app called her a bed bug. And yes I got a good laugh but it isn't accurate and that's the only important thing.

Joh. P. May 17, 2022

4 stars because it sometimes do not scan what insect i scanned. but good app it is helpful for people that do not know what that insect it is.

jak. k. May 15, 2022

Very accurate very fast my wife Had been bitten by a spider and I could not figure out what it was this told me right away what it is she's highly allergic to anything poisonous. I'll still found this beetle still alive in the grill of my truck look like a beetle And hornet mix Found out it was a burying beetle I recommend this app for anybody needs to know there bugs.

Luk. M. May 7, 2022

Not convinced on the accuracy of this for a paid for app. What I'm looking at isn't a Sawfly larvae. Don't know what it actually is to correct it (duh) so will be cancelling my trial and uninstalling the app shortly.

Hoo. B. May 9, 2022

App is super easy to use. It's also is fast and accurate. I finally got to know what spiders have been roaming around my house and how harmless they are.

Jen. C. May 5, 2022

Update 5th May 2022- I still love this app! Does what it says. Only 2xs that it was unsure on a pic & that I'm sure was due to pic quality. I don't love bugs, but I'm not a hater anymore. Rather than smashing everything I see, I look em up, and determine if its beneficial for my home environment. I've also used to educate. Definitely takes the fear away when you know what you are looking at. Great app! Highly recommend!

Gam. S. Feb 14, 2022

some scans are a real miss, I tested it out with a few of my scorpions and spiders and it really doesn't have much info on Australian species clearly. it even suggested that one of them was a tubular worm??? for common species of invertebrates it does ok i guess, but really misses when it comes to identifying anything outside of the family of invertebrates it belongs to

Ver. H. May 26, 2022

Not Free. You must add a Credit Card or PayPal immediately after installing. So I immediately uninstalled.

ant. c. Mar 6, 2022

I do have the free version. I am not an expert at all. Yet, when capturing insect I am curious to know... At the moment, this app never failed! It is nice to see something working great even if it is out of my area of expertise or hobbies. I think is the first time that I cast 5 stars.

Bai. F. Mar 8, 2022

It's a little pricey for what it is, so that's why I took one star off, but the people saying they want to cancel subscription, all you need to do is go to your Google play app, subscriptions, and cancel. No need to contact support. Hope that helps anyone else!

Dan. H. Mar 8, 2022

probably need a better camera than my phone has for it to work, and/or the bugs you're trying to photograph must be bigger. still, I was trying to snap pics of dead (and therefore immobile) bugs whose bodies were still intact. not great that it just didn't work...

Win. W. May 30, 2022

Seems to be pretty accurate. We have some interesting looking insects where we live, so it's great to have an app that helps to identify them.
