Picturesque Lock Screen

This is a great lock screen. I especially like the bing wallpapers, changing all the time. For those worried about security, NO lock screen will ever be as secure as the system lock screen, and you shouldn't expect it to be. This one works for me because I have a fingerprint scanner. I disable the the security on the lock screen and use the default system one. Because i use fingerprint unlock, it is seamless, but I get that without that it could be a pain. But, you should never rely on a third party lock screen to actually be that secure.

This is a terrific app. Much better than Microsoft's other lock screen app Next and a lot of launcher apps that are on the play store . Has security, handles notifications brilliantly and search for apps, contacts (can call text or whatsapp) or perform a bing search all from the lock screen. The wallpapers are mostly beautiful and keep changing regularly to keep things fresh. Hope they keep it available. Hasn't been updated in a while but I find it the best lock screen /launcher app and I've tried a lots of them.

I've been using this lock screen app for over 2 years now and am upset that they are retiring the app. It deserves a long overdue update, not retirement. The app is simple, light, beautiful and it mostly works as intended. I hope that the MS Garage team behind this app will have input on the MS Next screen lock.

I review apps on the google play store on a regular basis. Picturesque Lock screen is in my opinion, a great lock screen replacement. It has a design that I quite like, has easy to access, settings shortcuts. All of this is amazing, but my favourite feature of this lock screen replacement is the notification organiser. The main reason that I don't like the stock lock screen is that it shows all of your notifications in the most cluttered way possible, this replacement is much more easy to use and is less cluttered. I like the bing wallpapers. However one thing that could be improved upon is to add a feature that sets it to change to the daily wallpaper daily, much like the Microsoft launcher (formerly known as arrow). Another thing that I think need to be addressed is to do with the notifications. I get the chat heads active notification for Facebook, but it says I got the notification 47 years ago...? Apart from that, I absolutely love it and would recommend it to anyone, and I have. Great job Microsoft.

I have recently downloaded the app so not sure of details but its a wonderful app and the most important is it never crashes. Thanks developers and keep up. Regards I have sent emails twice about a problem but didn't get any response. The problem is that I cannot attend any incoming call unless I follow complete procedure of unlocking the phone and sometimes due to delay the call terminate. Also on completion of incoming or outgoing call I need to again unlock the phone to terminate the call. Please modify the app and oblige. Regards Bari

Along with Microsofts other lock screen called Next , it's the best I have ever used. No ads it's free and loaded with features. It has beautiful wall papers and works flawlessly. Works on reboot and on turning your phone on. You can also decide on which app short cuts you want on the lock screen or none at all , just navigate in settings. Get it now and see for yourself !

Love the concept & promised features, but unfortunately at least on Sony XA1 running Android 7 this app can't meet my needs as it doesn't fully/properly replace the system lockscreen. That means you need to manually turn off the system lockscreen & rely on this app's security instead. For most that should be fine, however there is a short delay to this lock app starting up on initial phone start... But big issue for any phone like Sony XA1, that has a limited allowed apps Ultra Stamina Mode (or equivalent), would disable this app when the phone was in that mode, and therefore leave your phone without any form of lockscreen security 😕

Update- just noticed News feature on lock screen is 5 months out of date! Server error maybe? Please correct! Great integrated Bing search including phone contacts, very useful, think this feature is better than the similar Next lock screen, which is also good. Not quite as Productivity-oriented as Next, but in some ways better because of integrated Bing search, news headlines etc., hardly have to unlock the phone if you're a regular Bing user. Do wish it had a a way to input Contact info for lost phone as LG lock screen does. Also need to get Feedback and FAQ links working again! Update 2-Android Messages notifications don't seem to work with this lock screen either, really too bad.

Can someone tell me how to lower the enter pattern lock screen so it's easier to get to on a larger phone such as mine (Samsung S8+). Love the app, if it had biometrics as well I'd give it a five. Also can't for the life of me get SMS notifications to work, questioning myself they ever did now.. Other than that fantastic. Feedback contact me directly with a tweak to edit it somewhere?

I really like the potential of this application. A big downside with this application and other applications like it is that it does not replace your phone's system lock screen, rather, it overlays on top of your phone's lock screen so that you have two lock screens. Simple solution: set your system lock to "no lock" and add the Next lock. The problem with this is two-fold: 1. Android Pay will not allow you to disable your system lock and keep your cards on Android Pay (Android Pay will delete your cards from your phone for security reasons). As a work around, delete Android Pay and use a less secure payment application (if you are okay with have a less secure payment application). 2. Because this does not replace your system lock, the application can actually be deleted altogether if someone has access to your gmail account (and consequently, your Play Store), and someone can access your phone - this is the reason Android Pay does not consider this lock secure. Unfortunately, it is simply not a secure lock. And isn't that what you really want from a lock screen?

Big FAIL! News Feature has not worked in over 3 months, consistantly fails to update. Have uninstalled & reinstalled app to no avail. Shame on Microsoft for failing to update app-no updates since June 29, 2017-almost a full year of neglect. When it worked, there were several functional problems with it. Some of the problems were = Frozen screens, Non-existent news stories, Time-out set way too short - forcing one to constantly touch screen while reading a new story or the phone would shut down. NOTE: No Notice of app being discontinued to date March 18, 2018.

Awesome app! It would be great if pin entry auto clears when entered wrong, so I don't have to backspace. Also please add "smart unlock" features like unlock/stay unlocked when car bluetooth detected.

I gave 4 stars because I cannot launch the camera app unless I unlock with pin code. It should launch the camera app WITHOUT unlocking with pin code. Also when snooze or stop the alarm clock when it rings I can unlock without entering a pin code! This is a serious flaw. Kindly address this problem. Thank you.

This is almost perfect! Doesn't show persistent notifications (this could be resolved if system notification bar was supported like in Next lock screen) and only shows notification summary, not full notification. Also doesn't support landscape orientation. Fix these and is 5 stars... Also when will soccer updates be included in the lock screen?

Microsoft has decided to retire this app?? This is an excellent app deserves a LONG due update, not to be retired. This is one of my favorite apps and use it every day on my phones. 1. Make the search capability available even when the device is unlocked - may be provide a widget / floating icon / available on swipe etc. 2. Improve search functionality to search everything on the phone. - like a full scale desktop search. Thanks to MS for making this available.

It's the best when making calls it helps its easy to use and very fast I love it cos it makes my phone 📱 more easy for me

This app is beautifully designed and has good features. Now I don't need to change lockscreen wallpaper as it changes automatically and keeps updating.

Best lock screen and would receive 4 stars if the news feed actually updated. Unfortunately it doesn't therefore 3 stars until this is fixed.

This lock screen app makes your phone much attractive. A lots of new features can be added in this app as in Microsoft Launcher. Microsoft must combine Picturesque with Microsoft Launcher. Great new opportunities for this app.

SO much better than the Samsung Lockscreen. Sometimes the system lock screen will show up instead though. Running a Samsung Galaxy S5

App is really good but the search bar is ugly.. And there is no option to disable it.. I accidentally keep hitting search bar.. Its annoying

Better than other custom lockscreen (including next lockscreen) but why on earth do I have to tap on a music icon to access the music controls each and every time? This is the Chinese way of thinking (I use a Huawei phone) and you should know better. Use the standard android way of directly showing those controls with no extra step. That can't be hard. I'll bump to 5 stars

I would give 5 stars, but you have disconnected my account, I have been requesting a code so I can connect again. I do not know what suspicious activity you are talking about?. No one has my phone but me Please send me code ASAP!!!!. I would like to continue using application, or I will uninstall and get another app. Thank You, this is very annoying!!!. Love it, closest thing to windows mobile lock screen on android. But is not a suitable replacement on the Galaxy models for corporate users that must have securiry in place for domain accounts. Therefore you are left having 2 lockscreens.

Works well with my android. My phone's automatic settings dont allow you to change the lock screen picture, so this is nice. Wish I could change the base color (bing yellow) though. Doesnt match exterior of my phone.

I am a tablet user, lock screen works in portrait mode only. Can you please give an option for auto rotate lockscreen.

I like the app, no ads and nice pictures. Seems to work well and got rid of the emergency button on my lock screen. Unfortunately, it seems it will be retired by the end of this month. So sad.

I would absolutely love this lockscreen if Discord notifications would actually show up. I get my ringtone, but not the notification itself. I uninstalled it and discord notifications worked fine.... I don't know what the problem is.
