I recently returned from Europe on a very early flight where manually presenting VAT forms at the airport wouldn't have been possible. The user experience is a bit clunky with the various image uploads, but overall provides me as a busy traveler with greatly needed flexibility once I'm back home. My hope is that more merchants adopt digital tools like VAT.
App streamlines the tax refund process, making it painless and fast for consumers. I received my tax refunds the day after I returned! Hopefully more businesses will subscribe to it. App interface was also fairly easy to navigate, so thumbs up!
Very simple and quick to use - uploaded details and pictures, and had the refund back in my UK bank account 2 days after returning home from Norway. Excellent service - so much less confusing than faffing around with loads of forms etc.
Wow - this was really easy. It took them seconds to process it in the shop and then the app gave really clear instructions on how to claim. Then the claim was approved the same day and the money in my bank account instantly! Couldn't ask for more.
I had a small issue in that it could not load a picture of bought goods when back home, it thought I was still in Norway. However the help desk quickly sorted my issue and made payment. No problems using the app and personal details requested not an issue. Far easier than old paper system.

Good design and intentions, but minor bugs in user flow. Example, try entering invalid credit card under payment and then press back while it validates.
Pretty seamless, but there are quite a few steps. Shop owners didn't know I needed a printed receipt so I had to go back to two shops to get it reprinted. Also, in the first round of steps, it didn't say we needed to take photos of each item too, so I had to unwrap items I had gift wrapped just to take their photo.

Be Careful. The store I purchased from forced me to use this App. Extremely uncomfortable with all the personal data I had to upload to an unknown entity. Then took 2months to receive my refund. Attributed to COVID-19 but the whole premise of this app is digital, so not a valid excuse.
It is more definitely convenient than the office at the airport because the opening hours are very limited and you do not always have the time. There are many steps to go through before you get your money, but it works.
Due to complications with COVID there were complications, and I understand the delay. Issues were overcome and resolved. Due to the hard work and great commitment I have re-rated. Thanks for your service.
This refund system works well, and is much more practical than the competition. All issues I encountered were quickly and effectively addressed by the friendly Pie VAT team.

Very time-consuming to set up an account. subsequent purchases should go better, but this system is far less user-friendly than the old system. On this same trip, our other purchases went through global blue, we showed our items, ID, and receipts at the airport, and had the money in our account 2 days later. just saying.
