Piktures - Beautiful Gallery

Sounds like a nice replacement after years and years with QuickPic. I tried many times to use another gallery app, and there's always something missing. What I needed was : organize my pictures in « physical » directories, making cut and copy moves, and having a good UI. Piktures seems able to do that, so yeah ! Good app ! Yet, I miss being able to use a whitelist of directory instead of having to exclude those I don't want to see : a lot of apps (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) store images here and there and I don't want to see them in my gallery. And I was wondering : is there a way to change the accent color ? I love having a dark theme, but green isn't really my color. I'd love to have some possibilities to change the application theme.

Probably the most beautifully designed photo album app out there. Sadly, it didn't work out for me. A few annoying bugs appeared when trying to select and manipulate large folders (100+ photos per album) but most importantly, I ran into a problem I couldn't solve when it refused to upload my galleries to Dropbox.

It's a shame that was once the best gallery app out there has now become so plagued with bugs and annoyances. 1. I get a "Permission needed" prompt every other time I delete a photo/video. 2. The sort by function doesn't work properly, some photos that I took years ago show up on this year (I have not edited its metadata and the date is correct) 3. Sometimes it takes minutes for new files to show up (Eg I download a photo and it doesn't show up straight away) I hope they fix it :/

Used this app for a while now and it's been perfect up until this year. It now decides what pictures I get to see. I thought maybe the pictures were corrupted, but my default gallery app has no issues displaying the same pictures. At any given moment, about 30% of my pictures are not able to be viewed (black screen). Extremely frustrating

Im noticing a bug where the upper buttons (bookmark, select, options) disappear and can only be seen if I kill the app and restart. Im disappointed there is no option to view files by folder, instead everything is jumbled together. Im also not a fan of the Apple IOS type UI where the back button is at the top left corner.

Loved it for years, but since the update it won't move photos between folders, which is crucial. I get the message, "An issue is preventing Piktures to write or delete in this folder. You might need to use the native FileManager to complete this action. Thank you for your understanding." Pretty useless without this functionality! I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling. It will sometimes move one or two & then fail with the next batch. I'd love to continue using this app but this is awful.

Videos in the secure folder are *still* not playing, despite the latest update saying it fixed this. It did seem to, for a short while, and then went back to the same old issue. Outside of this, it's a 5* app Edit: fixed

Used to be great, but now it's becoming more buggy every day. When scrolling, you can still accidentally long press image. You can accidentaly delete image, since sometimes it actually shows wrong image. Etc.

Great app. Easy to use. It's what I've been looking for. But the choice of color is terrible. Pink and green together in one app? I couldn't even change to dark mode. I deleted the app because I couldn't stand those colors. I'm done.

Works well, have been using it quite a while. Does have a major drawback in that if you add a cloud account it just scans all if it. Not allowing folder selection, it tries to scan my entire dropbox pro, heats up, fails and displays some random images from a small folder. Doesn't appear to resume, it just tries again when accessed. Too bad, I was looking forward to dropping Dropbox app. Still good for a local gallery app.

I'm not usually one to leave reviews, but this app stopped being usable. It used to be pretty good. Poorly tested updates have rendered this app useless though. Paying customers are now used to test the app. Rotating results in black screens and swiping back doesn't work. App stops responding and sometimes freezes the phone. Not sure what the dev is doing lately, but the app is becoming increasingly annoying. I'll switch to a different app that is capable of showing photos in a stable way.

I used to really love this app, used it forever. Like many others, I find the last update utterly broke this app. :( In a way that it could've just been replaced with a simple "please stop using our app" image. There's so many issues that suddenly popped up that weren't there before (from ignored preferences, to non working interface buttons, to almost losing my files...) and apparently the devs can't roll back to a working state nor fix it. I hope I find an app as good as this used to be...

One thing missing... This stops me from giving it 5 stars.. The only thing i don't like is that the side bar option for displaying album previews is slim only. There is no other choice. I'd love to be able to choose the look of the whole app. Squares, list, grid etc, rather than just the tile type.. I paid for premium so would have assumed more options would be available in the pro version.. Any chance of adding these different layout types in the next update??

This app used to be great. Had half of my family using it and now it's barely functional. The constant "access" issues has made this pretty much unusable since I had an auto backup feature set for specific folders that now can't be accessed and simply hang when trying to give "permission". Not too far away from uninstalling and using something else.

This is the best photo gallery app that I have installed on my device because it contains a "secret compartment", which enables me to organise my images into secure albums with the 4-digit PIN. The other feature I like is access to my images on cloud storage, which can only be viewed when my device is connected to the internet, unfortunately. What I also like about, and that is the app itself can be moved to an SD, thereby saving space on my device. I absolutely love this app. It tops the bill.

Broken. This app gets worse every update and now every time I delete an image it prompts me again to allow or deny it. There's no way to stop this in the settings. It also tries to share images other then the one I've selected since recent updates. All favourites have been wiped. Won't share files online via Google Drive anymore, it just hangs. Would give 0/5 if possible.

Tried other gallery apps, lots of them open the raw, over 20mb size, saved on the SD card, files quite laggy. But this app can open every photo immediately. But could we have the filter back that shows just the specific day of the photos?

An update a few months ago broke this app in numerous ways that made it nigh unusable. I decided to ride it out with it to see how it goes. Fixes have been slow but steady. I opened the app from time to time since then to find every now and then one other problem fixed and it's getting there. It was nearly perfect before and it can be again.

Videos moved to secret space,after a while it begins to show the error message "can't play back" and this is really annoying. Fix this please.

Was the best Now the absolute worst. Can't delete photos or it minimizes. Can't set wallpaper. Can't play anything. Wants special rights to send "analytics" (denied and blocked from firewall). Gets stuck on Delete for infinite amount of time. Ridiculous! Win earth is going on over there. 🤬😠😡You guys messed EVERYTHING up for EVERYONE. And what does Piktures have to say about it, "fixed on next release"😾, it was fine years ago WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!!!!!!😡😠🤬

I've had this app for 6 or 7 yrs now, & I'm TRULY disappointed in how horrible it is now, I've been upset with it for over 2yrs now but this last update done sealed the deal. Also, why does it take up so much storage space now? It's ridiculous, everything that was awesome with it is now awful. Smh, now I gotta find a new app, thanks to yall F'n up a good thang🤦🏿‍♂️

It would be the best gallery app, but I miss so much the grouping feature - most of the gallery apps do -at least by months. Also, did I do something wrong that the calendar view disappeared?

New update broke favorites and previous settings. Also broke image metadata, setting the date to dec 1969. Remember, never have auto uodate on, always update your apps manually. Edit: Former one star review to 4 star review Dec 1969 bug seems to be fixed with this latest update without favorites breaking either. It's still probably a good idea to turn off auto update and have a back up/take note of your favorite folders and any other personal settings you may have set.

It's better than the native gallery at all forms and perspectives. It's just that it shows black for PNG images with no background. I think it have to be fixed. Other than that, you're the best gallery app I ever had. Thank you!

Best gallery app I've tried. The ability to take pictures or scan barcodes within the folders is nice. I enjoy the design but would like more theming options, like dark mode, etc. I love the folder organization options, the bookmarking of important folders to show first is great.

Very poor app experience. Even if i have portrait mode enable in setting. Home page showing properly portrait but when open photo it rotate to landscape.

Revert, Revert, Revert. This app used to work great, now it's completely broken. It should be obvious from the comments that you need to un-do whatever code features or security "fixes" that got you into this current broken state. What's happening now is WAY worse than whatever was happening before

Good but not great! This app was working fine & it was one of favorite gallery app for years but from last few months things got worse. Now there are lot of bugs & crashes please fix them asap: 1.Sometimes app doesn't refresh newly added/deleted items automatically. Need to clear cache or close-open app again. 2.Deleting is painful, as it takes more time and app gets hang. 3.In app video player is not user-friendly. 4.Crop function is just a joke now, the saved crop image isn't found anywhere.

Why I can't directly head to this app from the system Camera. To do the same, the system shows 'enable default gallery app in the Settings' (I had disabled the Google Photos app). And for doing simple tasks of deleting a photo why it asks "allow piktures to delete the photo". I understand it confirms deletion of a photo but I think it confirms too much to do any task. Not good!

I paid for premium to get access to SD card using USB otg. But it doesn't work! Don't know why it doesn't work in my case, but apparently the feature is limited, which I only found out later reading the Play Store description, not a word about limitations when using the free version and when it suggests to pay! Used with Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, Android 12, 128 GB SD card formatted in Nikon D850. UPDATE: So be honest and tell about the restriction openly!
