The 500 rule and 600 rule are outdated now for the new DSLRs. They held good for the film era. This application uses the new NPF rule to calculate the exposure times. It uses the Aperture, Focal length and most importantly the pixel size of the camera's sensor to calculate the exposure times.

Just select your camera's manufacturer and model, followed by the planned F-ratio and focal length of the lens. The app provides you the best exposure time to use.

The camera listing is out of date..... e.g., the Nikon D850 (which had been out a while) is missing.....and it's a top camera for nighttime photography. Spring for 10 bucks to get Photopills....

Simple to use and practical
Does what it claims, so it's useful. One big pain in the neck is that it won't remember your camera so you have to set it through the cumbersome list Everytime.
