During my year long world trip, I missed an app with my requirements as a backpacker. This app is especially useful for independent travelers who want to research and plan their own unique trips.
Easy concept
Start in any country or more than 14.000 cities and read and explore the plenty of information and guides provided. The second step is to pin your favorite places from the guides and create your itinerary, schedule and budget. The travel planner will assist you here. Last step is to enjoy and follow your itinerary on the provided map.
No log in, No personal data, No unecessary permissions

Read all guides from Wikivoyage in a mobile friendly way. Take places directly from the guides into your travel itinerary as you read them. And everything also offline.
Interactive map
See all guides and places from Wikivoyage on an interactive map based on OpenStreetMap, so you can easily find not well known travel gems around you. Also track your itinerary, schedule and places on the map.
Community based
Not only Wikivoyage and OpenStreetMap allows you to share your travel knowledge but also the internal recommendations system is based on how much a place has been pinned by other users. Share your trips with friends or fellow travelers via WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter and many more.

The app is about 80% to a good trip-planning app. It lacks a few features, but mostly only little things. The major issue I have with it is that it only allows national or city-wide plans. States, regions, provinces, etc. should be included, too. Some nations, like the US or China, are too big to see in a single trip, and others that serious travelers usually only focus on one region at a time (France and Greece spring to mind). Please add in-between planning abilities!
Nice travel planner. Easy to use with drag and drop. I plan on country, city and daily level and this app allows me to do so. I also get country insights straight from Wikivoyage. Sharing the trip with friends makes it easier to talk about without writing down everything. Cool end to end planning that lots of other apps lack. I planned my Canada, Morocco and Germany trip with it and will continue to do so. Plus, the app doesn't require unnecessary or loads of privacy permissions! Can't beat!
This application automatically create optimized day plans with your pinned places. You can customize it with setting like, how long you want to stay generally at sites, what your time window for the day is and many more. In short very good application to plan your journey.

Absolute garbage. Lost my entire itinerary after an update. Worst travel app I can imagine.

The app used to be very helpful 2 years ago but unfortunately there haven't been much development (probably due to corona). It seems very unfinished. Difficult to use, I needed maybe 5 minutes to find the option to set the correct dates for my trip. This should be the very first setting after creating a new trip. The magic stick is not helpful, it creates a chaotic itinerary without any order. So I still need to set every POI manually by checking the map.
