Pinochle Classic

Improve your skills and become a Pinochle pro! Play single or double deck games with three different difficulty levels so you can work your way up to playing like a pro. Pinochle Classic has many settings so you can configure the game to play with whichever rule variations you prefer including: single/double deck, scoring in multiples of ten, game winning score, minimum bid, passing cards count, hints, undo button, and adjustable game play speeds for slow, standard, or fast play.

An analyze button can be turned on to help you evaluate your hand and pick a smart bid by simulating thousands of games and showing you likely round score outcomes. A hint button can be turned on to help you see what card the computer Pro player would play in your situation. Extensive statistics are kept for wins/losses, average contract, average meld, and average counters and success rate in making your bid.

All cards are dealt randomly to all players, so the difference between the Easy, Standard, and Pro computer players is in how well they remember what cards have been played and how they choose to play the cards they are dealt.

Tried to play this one for the first time, but was impossible! I selected the 4 cards to pass back to my partner but those 4 and my remaining cards covered any button to actually pass anything. Had no choice not to delete. Oh, also wasn't very sure what my partner passed me. Maybe my phone's horizontal/vertical control was locked?, but I've never had an issue with that before.

I've played several different versions of pinochle on both IOS and Android. This one has the best logic. It's almost like playing with human players. The bidding is unusual because it only goes up one point at a time. My only real problem is there are way too many ads and when I play on my IPhone the ads sometimes lock up the game. I would pay something to get rid of them. Would be 5 stars if not for the ads.

As a beginner, I could benefit from a "beginner" tutorial which would show how everything is counted in slow motion. And I could also benefit from an explanation of what a bid would be based on. It would drive a good player nuts, so maybe a beginner setting could be added? Anyway, I am learning it by bit.

First, game is laid out beautifully - the graphics and animation are nicely done. That being said there are fundamental flaws to this game which make it unbearable to play. The biggest issue is that during the passing of cards phase, your partner will ALWAYS hold trump cards if they count towards meld in their hand! This is absolutely poor gameplay and the algorithm needs to be fixed. The other big issue is the ads - I understand that they are there for revenue, but turn off the damn audio!!

Cool game to brush up on your skills, yet in the "Pro" level option, my partner keeps getting us "set", (which means he didn't have enough power cards in his hand and had no right staying in the bid just cause he had an ok amount of meld (points) dealt to him. People have to learn when & when not to try and run the board with no power cards, right.... Even tho it's only an electronic simulation of the real game, one should always shoot their best. Oh yeah, and I really do dislike going "set" !

Very basic but fun pinochle game with a few issues(in my view anyway) most glaring is doesn't require a marriage in the bid suit. There is an ad after each hand but they are mostly short and it is a free game so not really a problem. Opponents play at easy level seems to be totally random but at medium and pro the play improves nicely. The bidding gets out of hand quickly with no way to signal your partner.

This is the my favorite for learning. The ads are annoying. The apple version has no ads and is better with text bubbles over cards for trading, telling why the cards should be used. Please put such text bubbles on this version. This app would take first place hands down if it had a tutorial on how to determine the value of your hand for bidding. Really nice layout. Thanks.

... it is excellent! I feel like I'm playing against real people... To the point of laughing and talking table crud. I wish I could reset the deck of cards like shuffling and cutting to get a better deal. After playing for a while the cards are not good and I had to reset the statistics and I might reload the app. To start again... Did I miss something?

Fun game, although the discards opponents make are odd, especially for easy games. Algorithm insists you keep points even when passing a card to partner which would break up a pinochle or other meld might give partner a set. Not the rules I remember for this game, but it will help you learn and the analyze button helps you learn bidding skills and strategy.

Would give 5 stars, except the ads are noisy, and between every round. Game play is good, UI is uncluttered, I have to keep referring to the rules for the points, but that is my limitation. The hints are ok, and the analyse option for budding, although conservative, is very helpful.

Fun game with non-intrusive ads. I have played over 1000 pro games and only found one minor bug. (Changing hint selection sometimes fails) I would love to see an option so that the game does not highlight the cards that you can play. I find myself relying on that which make transitioning to a table game a little difficult.

Game play is good, AI challenging. There are some questionable AI bids, where the AI has a fixed max bid and can run you off a good hand, not bidding out at the end of the game...but otherwise pretty good. Missing 5th star cause you have to play offline, otherwise, it's one ad after every hand, that's a bit much.

Good to learn. If we could swap computer players that would be great. Starts off good, then the other players bet up to 40 or more unless you give up. Our partner doesn't bet much, not like the others. Finally got discouraged and uninstalled the game. I will try again, I think that maybe the computers you play against get too used to their partner and know what the other has.

Thank you developer/s for not killing us with Ads! Never played Pinochle in my life but this app has a beginner level that analyzes the cards so you can figure out what would be the best strategy to assist your partner or block your opponents. Wonderfully built so that the game speed moves up as you advance through the levels. Even has a Pro level.

This is the best pinochle app that I have played but I am looking forward to the developers making even more improvements on it! On the so-called pro-level the other players still make idiot moves such as leading each other out of trump instead of cross trumping and opting to throw away Aces even on opponents' leads. I wish more than anything, however, that the system employed a jump bid because that is the single issue that would add both skill and depth in lieu of frustration to this FUN app.

Would give it 5 stars but too many glitches. Size of cards changes from normal to huge making screen unreadable. Have to exit game and re-enter to reset deck to proper size. The game itself is almost life-like. Just a couple of programming hiccups that don't follow real life play. Otherwise this is probably the best Pinochle app out there.

This Classic Pinochle is great playing... and straight up classic. Cannot add alternate play rules... One I wish could be instituted is trump must contain a marriage... Which we always played. Love the classic feel of this game issue and seems to keep accurate score. Also like that it displays in written summary form what is contained in each players meld.

Good game, plays 2 or 4 decks. Doesn't seem to do meld bidding and only does 1 point bid raises, so takes a bit longer to get through the bidding. Bidding team passes 4 cards, wish this would be an option. Overall it plays well and is fun.

My partner is an idiot. Doesnt understand bid signals. The algorythem for standard is horriable. In all the decades Ive played this game, Ive never had such a run of useless hands. But it helps pass the time. Had to add to this. How is it possiable that the guy to my right gets 100 Aces 4 times a game. I also want to strangle my partner. Need to find another game. No longer fun at all.

It's a real good game. But I don't understand why Amelia my partner never passes any part of the Pinochle, or passes part of it and holds the other part, But I have never Played with against the computer before. Also they do not follow suit in the play, which I don't understand.

Col. C. Mar 30, 2022

It's a pretty good app,I don't like the fact that every time your computer partner gets the bid, they expect you to give them all of your trump cards or they make you lose, and that"partner"immediately throws out all of their trump cards so it draws all of your trump cards out and you can't play a normal game, anyone that knows how to really play doesn't just immediately throw out all of their trump cards.I don't like that "partner"goes set on the bid losing us points, people hardly ever do that.

A. G. u. Sep 23, 2019

Game play graphics are cool. There are a lot of rule settings options that need to be added such as not getting your meld or any pts if you don't make 20 pts, setting if you win the bid and don't at least make 20pts and bidding in increments of 5 after a 60 bid. I also would pay a premium one time payment to remove ads.

Game is well constructed. Players have the ability to set up the different game options to which they're accustomed. It has the same feel as a full desktop game program. Downside- no way to upgrade to get rid of ads.

Best pinochle app i have found! Easy on the eyes, nice stats info, a hint/analysis button and good settings options. Would be even better if the following options were added: blind pass, surrender and shot the moon.

Car. B. Apr 26, 2022

Too one sided .we already know what the trump will be. And that it will be a very large meld.I watched for two games and eight games they named diamonds trump. It's not challenging it's boaring .I know the game well because I love it. The movement to play is great, Butt the challenge is gone .

I've downloaded a number of Pinochle apps and this one is by far my favorite. The screen is very easy to read. I like how you can play at different levels. I also really like how they have the analysis and the hint option which helps improve my game. The only criticism I would give is sometimes my app partner make stupid moves. I would think that would not happened on an app.

Great game! Easy to play, and seems like a great way to improve your game. Love the Analyze feature - I just wish you could use it on a harder difficulty than Easy, to get the learning opportunity without having to play with such lousy players.

Joh. S. Aug 6, 2020

This game is superbly programmed. There are some variances in meld i would like to be able to change (like triple pinochle as 90 pts) as well as taking all tricks is an instant victory. and last trick counts as 2 pts. also the easy level opponent should never throw aces unless no other option is available.

Rob. H. Apr 15, 2021

Fun to play. Non stop action, and features like hints, analyze, etc. makes you wanna keep playing. And with different skill levels....makes me feel not so much the novice I am. I haven't played in years. And this app keeps me right where I want to be.....In The Game! I enjoy it. Thank you.

This is a good game overall, especially since there are so few pinochle games available. The graphics could stand to be upgraded. It would also be nice to have a choice of players and opponents. It's pretty realistic play and doesn't seem to start cheating when I win a game or two like other games do.
