Pioneer Smart Sync

Pioneer! You can do better! The app would be ok if it would connect automatically to my phone when the Bluetooth is on and i get in to the car, and, its few days now when i switch from radio to app music or bt music the app stops to work, i can connect the phone via Bluetooth and play the music but i cant acceed to the app to change sound preferences etc. So guys, if you do an autoradio which should work with app,then do an working app! I will raise my stars swear if you're going to improve it!

The only thing this app is good for is showing a song title and a clock. The 31-band EQ is good, but you have to know to hit the magnifying glass to adjust individual frequencies. It doesn't work with Android text messages, only Facebook and WhatsApp etc. It fails to connect about 1/3 of the time. You can't set up the "dash mode" - it just asks you to "accept changes" you didn't make, with no escape feature. Don't buy a Pioneer product based on this app. And FYI, Pioneer does not respond to tech support emails.

Does not work with Samsung Messaging app. Option to automatically connect stays on when out of the car and chews battery life like no tomorrow. Also does not always connect straight away when the car is started. The idea is good. But the overall execution of the app is poor and it appears that there isn't much more support. Gets even worse with update. When its running you cant pull down from the top of the screen to access your phone settings.

Sigh....a much prettier interface for watching the app refuse to connect. Toggle Bluetooth several times. Restart service. Because THAT is super convenient for a device that's supposed to be used constantly. My old radio connected when the car turned on, and played the music. Technology is supposed to get better, not less convenient. Looks nice, especially when it does connect. Just extremely rare.

If your having trouble connecting your Pioneer Deck to your phone, make sure you go to; SmartSync app on your phone; Settings; System; turn on BT Audio, and App Auto Launch. Also go to the Phone settings in the same app 4 buttons below System and turn on Auto Pairing. I don't even take my phone out of my pocket, and it starts playing Pandora within about 10 seconds after starting the car. You might have to uninstall the app on your phone if you have the previous version. Hope this helps all;)!

Never buying another pioneer product . Deck is fine but REQUIRING me to use this broken app is awful. App decides what its gonna play when you turn your car on. Spotify playing? Nah, we're gonna go find an obscure sound file on your phone and play that instead. Says it supports Spotify directly but doesn't actually connect to it. App is great for doing settings and what not, but don't try and take over my music. They're trying too hard and not delivering

It was okay and got on really well with it but now its so long winded now that Spotify doesn't work directly with the app or the head unit. There is alot of room for improvement but it doesn't seem like it is going to be. If the connection with Spotify is once again supported then i will change my reviwe but as for now having to wait for it to connect twice before being stable is a massive faf.

Was previously the most frustrating App ever. Not sure if the peeps who write the software have ever used this in the real world. It has improved slightly but I can't help thinking that the App bods haven't considered checking with users to see if it meets real world operating requirements. I've given it an extra star for more effort - at 2 now. I'll update if it performs as needed with Android 12.🙏🙏🙏

Giving a 5 only because I believe in its potential. I was immensely disappointed with the BT connectivity upon first purchase but April 2022 update make a vast improvement thanks for the wizard 👍 I was losing my mind and considered just buying a new car and be done with it but now it connects faster. Keeping my BMW. I do have a issue with connecting my veepeak OBDCheck BLE scantool. I bought it extra as it was on the compatibility list. Can you help me out? Or make a video tutorial perhaps?

Used to have no problems connecting to my stereo. Doesn't seem to work anymore after Feburary update. The Spotify function seems to have disappeared completely. No matter what I do, I cannot get the app to recognize that the phone is connected even though the standard Bluetooth function of the radio is still working fine. The app itself feels antiquated, but when it does work it's nice to have the the ability to fine tweak the equalizer.

Really great idea and would be a great app if it worked better. The mileage and altitude stopped working for me and time the app starts back up again. It's super annoying for those of us who use miles per hour. 11/17/20- The new face on the app is terrible. All it shows is what I'm listening to. Please fix the face. 3/23/22 Update: still has the same issues. Will not start up the app unless conditions are perfect before the car is started. ANNOYING APP!!!

The newest app update is causing my phone(galaxy S21 ultra) to show cpu overload(causing cpu to hang) from the newest version of the app. The receiver connection is much better and having an option in the app to connect is much easier. Would be 5 stars not for the cpu issues.

This version worked for a few weeks but it does not want to connect anymore. I have written programs for Androids and could have done better than this application - but you would not be able to afford my work. Get it together as it can be an awesome app! Thanks in advance.

The radio works excellent. The app not so much. Some days it take several tries to get the app to connect to the car. If the app worked better it would definitely be 5 stars.

Works well, I like the customizability it provides me. Most of the time it is able to connect and play music when I start my vehicle, but there are times where I have to manually do it. Other than that I am happy with the app and everything works like it should for the most part.

New interface is still a bit over crowded. Some updatea have helped this. Simple is better for when you are driving. Let us customize things, remove all the icons we don't want, add font size, etc. The new icons are hard to see, especially in sunlight. The only good thing so far is the swipe left for menu (so get rid of the settings icon on home screen) and swipe right to see the playlist. Still issues playing the last few seconds of songs, and no replay gain support.

Always had problems with this from the start like the 12k other people here, connection is the biggest downfall of this. When I seen the new update I thought it was finally fixed. Nope, it actually made it worse. Crashes the app every time I try connect. Now my Pioneer radio is junk because it was built exclusively to work with the app. Time to change the unit for something else.

This app was fine before the update to 3.0. The app connects when you start the vehicle. You can not connect to the app manually. Once you connect to the app, it works wonderful. This app still has issues even after the lastest update 4.0. When you start your vehicle, it'll connect 50%-60 % off the time vs 10%-20% on the 3.0 version. Bluetooth without the app still works perfect.

Initial review for the sph-c10bt using app version 4 and the recent firmware update: Bluetooth connection is now reliable (!), and possibly faster than before the updates. Haven't had a dig through all of the app settings and features yet, but those I have used worked nicely. 5 stars doesn't seem warranted, as it shouldn't have taken this long to address the Bluetooth issues for a flagship device.

Pathetic piece of software. The app Syncs once in a blue moon. Support is equally bad. Pretty much blaming the user despite the fact that the newest firmware addresses the very same Bluetooth connectivity issue. I gave it 2 stars only because when the app does work it gives you an amazing granular EQ which is on par of better than dual din full screen units from any brand.

Since the upgrade I can no longer play Spotify and it STILL doesn't connect seemlesly via Bluetooth every time. It would also be the civil thing to do to respond to your customers.

I've had this app 5 minutes and I hate it already, doesn't keep my settings and takes an age to connect every single time. Thinking about taking the head unit out and starting again.

Hit and miss, it connects itself very occasionally, the rest of the time I've got to force it by disconnecting and reconnecting repeatedly. The strange thing is... Even when it doesn't load up the main screen, the blue tooth link allows me to use my phone for music.

Just bought a new stereo tried to just use Bluetooth but kept pausing couldnt play anything so tried dl the app and wouldnt u know the App is terrible!!!!!! It shows my music is playing but have no audio

Connection phone-radio is fine, but OBD2 connection is breaking often and reseting all stats that I wanted to see at the end of a trip. Waiting for instant or avg. fuel consumption "l/100km" OBD2 option. Update: Thank you.

Since the new update I can't connect to the head unit can't even find where to uninstall the updates, Was working flawless untill this new update was done. The issue I'm having now is I can't even use the head unit. What ever it has done it's locked me out from using my head unit with this app, please fix
