• Must bid to win. The winner must make the last bid of the game in addition to reaching winning points.
• Junk points. The defending team may/may not score points taken.
• Minimum bid. The minimum required bid may be set from 1 to 5.
• Low point. Choose whether the point for low trump goes to the capturer or the player who was dealt the low trump.
• Jokers. Choose to play with zero, one, or two jokers.

• Last trick. Choose to score the last trick as a point.
• Leading. Choose between: the makers must lead trump on the first trick; any suit may be lead anytime; and trump may not be lead until broken.
• Following suit. Choose whether or not when following one may play a trump instead of the suit lead.

The computer is okay at bidding, but lousy at the play of the hand. With any of the top 3 cards, the computer should lead out the highest. If it has K or Q high, it generally finds a different lead. When to rough in is seriously wrong as well. Many times I see computer rough a worthless trick with the king. I still love the game, especially the customizable rules. I've never met two groups who play pitch the same way. Nice to play by the rules I know.

Overall a good game. It's fun if you like pitch, and the ads aren't bad. However, the AI can be idiotic, even at the higher levels. The AI players have a tendency to make terrible bids and will sometimes will give 10s to the other team when they have no reason to.

Nice offline mode. Great when flying. Something changed with AI since my last review. The AI does not lead with highest card anymore and just plays different. Still like the game. Great time killer.

Pretty good, but the game no longer works on the Pixel 6 pro since the March security update. It crashes when I try to start a new game. 3/28 Update: excellent developer response. All is well now.

Excellent representation of classic pitch, with lots of options to customize. Absolutely worth downloading.

I like the game a lot but have noticed that it isn't always accurate in calls. In one example: diamond was Trump. There was a 9 diamond, Jack heart, 10 diamond and 10 spade. It claimed the jack heart as winner. 10 of diamond was correct winner.

This Pitch game app is the best I've ever used. It is so good you feel like you're actually playing with actually real people. Whoever programmed this must have spent countless hours studying this game and watched many different people playing in real life so as to program the bots. The bidding is great, the way they play their hands are great, the mix of the cards is good, it's just a good place to play Pitch with all the comforts of real life Pitch. Great site and LOTS of options.

Good updates... Perfect timing on ads...just need to switch up the AI on team and solo play but perfect other than that.

Have played pitch for years. This game is great! Almost as good as playing with friends. Only thing missing is the laughter & the snacks.

I'm from New Britain, CT, where "Setback" is an essential card game. We have a variation also called 9 5 (I'll defer to Wikipedia to give the explanation). It wasn't until I met people from elsewhere in the US that I realized they call Setback Pitch. This application is awesome, and has so many rule customizations. It was easy giving this 5 stars.

The built in strategy is not the best. They play the 2 of trump as a lead card which inevitable gets taken. Then they trump the next play with a high card. 🙄 They save an ace to play at the end but let other plays get taken by the opponent when they could have taken it. Just bad strategy programming, in my opinion.

LOVE this game!!! It's so hard to find people that play cards these days. I grew up playing this game (I made it as Setback) & have always loved this game.!!!!!

Game is decent but playing the 2 can be taken from you although 10 point pitch the 2 saves itself.

Was a great game and then all of a sudden a few weeks ago I cannot play. When I hit new game, the app closes out. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing with no luck. Hate to see it go.

My last review seems to be lost. I love the game but it no longer lets me select a card to play after upgrading to android 11. I can start a game and all game features work with the exception of choosing a card. Cleared cache, data, uninstalled/reinstalled and it doesn't seem to be working. Edit: restarting the phone will fix the game for a bit. I was able to play it last night, but now after about 10 hours, it broken again. A reboot fixes again, but that isn't really a feasible option.

I love the options that are available for user. Love draw. Love the back button. I've been waiting for a great pitch app and finally found it. In my youth SHOOT THE MOON was the high bid and if you took all the points you won the game. If you were set you went up the number of points that the game went up to. Usually minus 11 points. A variation that some used was you also had to take all the tricks to win. Love playing with 5 of trump counting 5 point. In my later years I played with the 9 of trump counting 9 points and then sometimes playing with both 5 and 9 and bidding up to 18. Some other options you might think about. Thanks so much for giving me back the awesome game of pitch!

This is the best, most complete version of Pitch aka Hi-Lo Jack I have seen. All the different variations and rules are customizable. It doesn't matter how obscure your house rules are, there's probably an option to set it here. And the computer opponents are actually not bad. I just wish there was a way to save the custom rules as presets to make it easier to switch between variations.

I haven't been able to play this game for weeks. I've done everything possible, and I can't sign on. It changed the rules on me. I can't change them back. I cannot do anything with this game. Played it for a year with no problems. Now, I cannot play again. It won't even let me delete my account and start a new one. The game pretty much blows now.

C. M. Mar 13, 2022

It gets frustrating when partner makes senseless moves, i.e. wasting trump cards unnecessarily on hands that I would win anyway. Also, no need for winning bidder to choose trump suit, just play the first card to select trump.

Joe. P. Mar 22, 2022

game just stopped working for me, also. crashes when you select new game. reinstalling or cleaning cache don't help.

Ken. L. May 22, 2022

Very good, enjoy the different levels to learn

A. G. u. Feb 9, 2022

Game is ok. Partner sometimes makes senseless plays by underthrowing (wasting) Trump when not called for and reckless bidding when only needing 1 point to go out and opponent has low score. Game seems to not consider not bidding when holding potentially setting hands.

TA. A. Jan 3, 2022

Good game play, but the computer is very loose with Jacks and 10s even on the hardest level. Just not good strategy.

Dav. E. Jan 19, 2022

Great app! Diverse series of options. AI gets a bit confusing to play with from time to time, but overall a fun app!

Mar. R. Jan 3, 2022

Was good at first. Ads after each game, but after a week or so, there were ads after each hand. Too many ads.

Mik. A. Mar 23, 2022

Game really lets you down when it won't start. No rhyme or reason but looks like an unhandled exception.

ric. h. Dec 31, 2020

This is really nice. With the setting options I was able to nearly match the 9 card draw rules that me and my friends play by. I have noticed the computer makes mistakes though sometimes. I don't know if that's intended. Could use a few more rule options but I'm nitpicking.

Chr. C. Jan 2, 2019

I'm lowering my original rating. Its not even fun anymore with the extremes the computer goes to predetermine the hands. I've played tens of thousands of real life card games and this isn't how cards get dealt. --------------- It's ok but playing at the harder levels can be frustrating as the cards seem VERY predetermined. The opponents always have cooresponding cards. In every hand the 2 of trump is in play, as are at least three 10s. It's fun to play but more randomness would be appreciated.

Chi. S. Feb 6, 2021

Enjoyable game. Good practice when I can't get 3 friends together. UPDATE: Very frustrating that the game makers haven't figured out how to incorporate strategy into the play. Why would my partner lead with a Jack? There is certainly strategy that plays into this game and partners are able to play off each other's hands. This game, although fun, does not do that's. If my human partner played like this, they would be ridiculed and run off the table.

A. G. u. Mar 13, 2019

My computer partner makes really stupid moves way too often. For example: winning the bid and then leading with five of trump or using a king to trump a worthless hand when there's still points that could be gotten out of the trump suit such as a two or a Jack. Not even a novice would make moves like that but my partner does it more than not. Very frustrating!
