Easy to use and setup. Single thing I don't like is that you do not have option to disable it, and to connect only when you want. App remains ON, even if I set sleep time interval. Or maybe I did not find option to disable it during non-working hours. Thanks.
Its a Conversations clone/fork. That being said, its great for onboarding people to XMPP/Jabber because its free and includes a list of servers to create an account on. Would be great if the persistent notification was invisible by default though.
It connects to external server and works fine with text messages. But when i tap on file attach or pic attach. it does not work. same for the audio also.
After updating to the version 2.5.1 the application crashes on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Please, Cristian, fix this bug which, I suspect, is the same you had to deal with this spring (March-April). Thanks!
Okay so I'm going to say this, the app UI is very use friendly and the settings are pretty simple to understand everything is very clean, you can use different xmpp servers i highly recommend this over other apps that use xmpp as pix-art appears made .
Giving a 5 . have two questions: 1. can I send pictures in private group chats encrypted with OMEMO? I do not see the attachment button. 2. for user2user chat if I use OMEMO the file is transfered 99% than fails UPDATE: Using http_upload or http_upload_external in prosody works very well.
Best XMPP/Japper Client for Android. I've tested around 16 clients and this is the Winner. I will continue to test and try things out - but this is a very sane choice if you wanna try this platform out.
It's Conversations but with useful extra features - and it's for free in playstore.
Continued updates AND support for OTR. Also works beautifully with Tor. This is going to be my new daily driver.
A fork of Conversations. Not just a fork but a very good 1. Besides encrypted backup also the possibility to export your chats to plain text 👍👍 #XMPP #OpenSource
Nice app, but I was not able to logoff one ID and login with other one. Where is this option?
Supports OMEMO and has a dark color scheme. It's great!
Prefer this fork to the conversations I bought in playstore: roster availability coloring, avatar instead of contact image, better defaults for sociability
can you please get rid of the persistent notification? edit: OK I learned from Daniel Gultsch that google makes you put it there. I will update my review since this is the best free XMPP client in play store and my friend has to use play store.
Nevermind. I figured out how to add an existing account. First run is confusing though.
Chic, Beautiful, Aesthetic and also great Working client for xmpp. This is the best among dozens of verified chats for me.
no longer crashes but i get randomly disconnected now
Does not connect with desired server. Waste of time.
xmpp client with the best interface.
Install, sign in, works! Thanks!
Guys why i cant voice call or video call make? Aint see this option
Open source and does what it says on the tin
I can't find disconnected key
This is a good fork in general. The settings menu alone is so vastly improved over conversations, and just having more options at your finger tips in general is great. My main issue is that when in the app it will vibrate on notification even when vibration is turned off. This does not happen if you're outside of the app but if you're in it and a conversation you don't have open gets a message it will vibrate. I would like to be about to disable all vibrations before I can really use and recommend it
This app is basically ok (it is conversations afterall) but the pix-art service as a jabber provider seems shady If it's used with another provider like draugr or the conversations.im service it might be ok. But srsly get conversations.im from f-droid or just spend 2 euros on it. The developer needs to live from something. Also the conversations.im service is payed and has much more consumer friendly terms of use for example "no unrestricted rights of use for uploaded files" no "we can change whatever we want whenever we want it" AND there is no "if you delete your account we will still keep your data" smells extremly fishy
Nice app. I like it much more than the original Conversations. Major problems: images shared with 'http upload' are shown as web links, if sent from many non-Conversation clients, this is ugly (server certificate is okay). Great it supports OTR, it is still widespread on desktop clients and has its own benefits, e.g. forced 1-to-1 communication, strict auth, no 'blind trust', support for transports. But SMP verification is broken. Reconnection is slower than other clients.
