Great game for the first week or two. Once you get to a certain level, it takes more than 24 hrs to upgrade anything on your ship unless you watch countless ads or pay for it. While the ad strategy is brilliant and unobtrusive for the first week or two, once you get to that point, the game just become monotonous trying to advance at all. The graphics, story and gameplay are quite enjoyable. Reminds me of a significantly more robust FTL. I'd love to buy a version with no waits over 12 hrs.
It's an amazing game so far. The game isn't that pay to win and the optional ads and Market system allows players to gain reasonable amounts of in game currency. The combat and AI is fun, and customizing your ship's layout is challanging and engaging. The touch controlls are kinda werid, it's really hard to press certain buttons, it also makes combat fairly difficult.
I'd say it okay. But there really isn't that much to do. Mostly because you can only queue two constructions at a time and then you wait, come back later and queue another two. Micro-transactions are fairly costly. Must of the battles always feel the same and are lacking the tactical depth I'm used to from "FTL: Faster than light". But I'm not giving up on the came yet.
Disappointing game. It starts with a pixel themed game with resource collection, pvp and pve elements, achievements with rewards, a market, and a starship that is gradually upgraded and customized. Excellent beginnings, but quickly degenerates into a pay to play game with long timers required to advance (and the option to speed up those timers with in game currency mostly acquired by buying packs).
Fun enough game I guess, at first everything moves pretty fast and battles go quickly but after ship lv 4 everything grinds to a halt and you have to grid everything to as high as possible to stand a chance and beating most people in pvp. Battles are alright but get very annoying fast due to the AI room. This game is just not for me
Got "Hilled" by the marketplace banning system which prevents you making purchases because I seemed to have been levelling my ship up sensibly rather than racing ahead. I will, again, be maxing all units & not entering pvp since I don't want to & that's my decision to make. If the far too stringent and overanalytical security system isn't muzzled, you've thrown away a second chance at keeping a player. Don't waste it. Yours, a security operative.
This game is awesome. Managing your crew and ship, the pvp battles, joining fleets, PvE missions; it's all there. The only think I have to complain about is the wait times. I'm only two weeks into the game and most of my upgrades take a day or two at a time to complete now without throwing some money at them.
No way to backup your account. If you have to delete your app for whatever reason, you lose everything including your screenname. You might have to get through the tutorial to get to a login portal and retrieve your account but the tutorial is now impossible to pass. It doesn't fit to screen properly, so there are buttons I have to press to advance through the tutorial that I can't. According to the devs response. You need to email them in order to log in, instead of having a "log in" button.
Almost 3 years of gameplay. Almost a F2P player. (spend a dollar on thanksgiving cause it was a very tempting offer that I have been waiting for). It's still the best game I have ever played. The only game that I played this long. The game is "buggy" but it just means its being polish. Edit: Games has leaned on being P2W. But being F2P player is still very much viable.
so far it's a lot of fun and pretty engaging! After getting to level 5, there is a pretty steep curve in upgrades and gaining levels and weaponry. Still fun, but it's a massive time investment
not a bad game all things considered. ads not crammed down your throat, but still optional for rewards, which is a huge bonus on the mobile side, plus the steam account linking and cumulative build rush while on PC is a bonus. you can do the more intricate tasks and ship building on pc which is perfect for somebody like me with laborer hands and fat fingers, out of all the mobile games I've played, this is definitely up there.
Very fun, a great design and battle game that is always interactive. When you find it hard to get resources just sell materials from mining drones or things in storage.
Love the games, especially the offbeat humor. At lvl 10 and up the upgrades get to be insanely expensive and long. Still never bought a single star buck, just not necessary.
Honestly, I can't tell how amazing this game is, the tutorial is welcoming and goes through the basics pretty quickly without explaining too much, although I'd say it's a bit bugged. Also the graphics are extremely good and i hope this game keeps getting better and better! ggs! :)
I'm crazy about this game , been a premium member since the beginning ,i find it really fun , like ve the art , the comedy and characters, battle controls could be improved but I suppose they are like that to push you to use the AI system, join us! 😄
This game has a lot of bugs and server/connection issue. I got directed to the opening part of the game so many times. When I try to get in the game, the connection timed out when I don't have bad internet connection. When I do mission, I get 'fail to receive data'. I can tolerate this at first, but this is getting annoying, especially when I've spend so much money for this game because I appreciate the developers of this game. Please appreciate the players too by fixing all the bugs. Thanks.
Was way better than I expected. You can freely customize your ships, and there is strategy involved with the placement. The numerous battles can get very intense. Huge variety of things to suit every play-style. The game is very welcoming. To top it all off, the game has a very nice storyline. If you like sci-fi 1v1 strategical combat games that still allow room to breathe, this is perfect for you.
Love everything about this game, does have a very steep investment curve. I'm not sure if it's just me, but the tap boxes don't work well? Like I have to tap above and a little to the left of most of the buttons. It's only this game so I don't think it's my phone
I have a few problems. You could possibly look into it. When you collect gas or minerals from your collectors and your storage is full the excess amount disappears. The ads dont work in the new update. Other than that it's a great game and I would suggest it to anyone. I especially love the fact that you can add AI to the game to protect you for when you're gone. It's something completely new which I would not have thought of.
Great game that reeks passion and quality from its developers, the gameplay is really strategic, players even being able to code simple AI for hoe they want their ship to behave, and the worldbuilding is incredibly nice too. In a sea of mobile trash games, Pixel Starships stands as a bar of gold in the giant heap of games made just to make money off of adspace. Would recommended, great game.
This is a good game to play. Nice mini storyline and battles. The controls need tweaking so you can target better. Major downfall for me for this game is the PVP. I don't feel it's necessary or required; just opens up unfair advantage play. Random enemy ships in star systems of varying levels would do. So many games have the pvp element, and for me, it ruins the game
Fun game overall, decent story and cool characters to assign to your ship at will. The images for each character is a nice touch I particularly enjoyed. Only issue I have had however was when moving crew around occasionally it won't read as me selecting the individual crew and rather trying to move the entire module around. Maybe an edit ship layout mode instead of tossing everything into one screen?
At the moment, I cannot get past character creation. When I try to download the required assets, it starts showing all sorts of error messages until it sticks to one: cannot connect to destination host. My connection is perfectly fine and my phone has surprisingly good performance so that can't be the issue. The game doesn't seem bad so it's a shame
