Pixoff: Battery Saver
Saves battery by applying a filter that turns off pixels of AMOLED screens, also incorporates the possibility of make a filter night decreasing so damaging blue light and you can further reduce battery consumption with facility to put a wallpaper to true black.
AMOLED screens doesn't have a backlight at all. Instead, each little sub-pixel is like a tiny red, blue, or green colored light. If the screen is instructed to display black, it doesn't need to block any light, it simply doesn't light up any of the little colored sub-pixels.
Black pixels save you a lot of power because those pixels can be turned completely off. There is a relationship between brightness and power, but to really save juice you need a true black.

working well but doesn't cover the entire screen with the pixelfilter on a Galaxy S9+. no matter the resolution or orientation of the device, it always leaves a small, fragmented/artifacted area on a small portion of the screen, usually the top with 10-20% not turning off. other than that great app with neat ideas.
Great idea, buggy execution. The flip pocket feature turned my screen black and kept it that way until I restarted my phone 4 times to turn it off. The "sticky" notification in the notification panel didn't work many times to enable/disable. Overall I noticed increased cpu usage (slower phone) while this app was installed. Samsung Galaxy S8
Really cool app. Can't wait to see the difference in battery usage. The different donation methods for premium is really cool too. After using it for a while, there's a bar at the top that doesn't get affected however other apps don't have this issue like Pixel Filter (I have a Note 20 ultra). This doesn't overlay all of the Settings app, the lock screen, and the edge panel. The pure black wallpaper doesn't seem to work either for me (I prefer my wallpaper but wanted to report this too)Pls fix:)
PROS- Great idea! Save battery during the day and protect your eyes during the night and NO ADS! CONS- Not fullscreen (does not effect status bar). Create shortcuts on homepage and Notification does not work for me (Poco F3, Android11). Wish it comes with Quicktiles or Widgets.
the app works perfectly but I encountered something strange, everytime i go to the playstore and download any app, it shows an error that another app is restricting the action. It works just fine after I turn off the working of this app. developers, please consider
Works great but not perfect. On my Note10+ app does not fill all the way pass the selfie camera and leaves it lighter in color. And the app frequently flashes the screen with the filter disenabling by itself. If those 2 bugs get fixed, 5 stars is good, now it's about 4 stars.
I don't know what is going on with this app. Seems like a great idea but it keeps crashing and keeps reloading, also the filter doesn't stay on...looking for something else, just a headache. I have pro version as well...just avoid
I have tested other apps, but I keep coming back to this one. I like it. It's working on my phone. It keeps my battery longer than ever. I will appreciate if the density of graphs are reduced to give more room for visibility when you are on the phone. The app is good. I give it **** thanks. I salute your brain.
the only problem with this app is screenshots, it should have a option to turn the filter off for ge one second it takes to take a screenshot so that the screenshots look normal. not sure if this is possible but the rest of the app is great!
Disgraceful app. It used to work, albeit, poorly as the filter would often stop and take ages to come back on. Now the app doesn't work at all. I tried sending feedback but it's no response. This is disgraceful considering that I paid money for this app. I've now discovered a free app that works way better. I feel robbed
Extremely useful as a utility to save battery, or extend battery indefinitely by keeping it on. If used conservatively, it can substantially increase battery life, assuming your phone has an OLED or AMOLED display. Great app!
Somehow it works even on LCD screen. My battery was very weak, the phone survived only 4 hours on YouTube 1440p video without it and 7 hours with it (I tried that 3 times just to be sure) so yeah, it works. Great app!
Why not just turn your phone's brightness down? Instead of permanently turning off half of your pixels, turning brightness down will keep all pixels on but for less time. Our screens flash ON/OFF really fast to control the brightness, but it's too fast for our eyes so we notice it as decreased brightness instead of flashing, it's called PWM. This also works for LCDs, whereas this app only works for OLED screens, and it even makes your screen look weird. I just don't see the point of this app.
No way to (easily) close the app that I can find. Many other apps have issues with apps drawing over others, for whatever stupid reason, and I had to uninstall it to fix the problem.
It worked for some time (about 1 hour) than it just kept stopping. It is really annoying, and the app seems like a good idea, but it is executed badly and doesn't work.
I really like the idea of the app, unfortunately the filter keeps shutting off for me so I need to keep re-enabling it.
Purchased the app but the app keeps turning off by itself every one minute, so I can use the app only one minute and I need to manually turn it on. Disappointing.
The bigger your screen resolution the better the savings, if you set a custom 8x8 grid size with a smart layout you save up to 85% without noticable difference. Magnificent app.
the pixels keep turning back on even tho app still says its enabled. It didnt do that at first but now after few days it behaves weird UPDATE: i realized that the app gets turned of when your android is on power saving mode
This app didnt work for saving battery(i have a LED screen not a Oled), but it helps the screen not be so bright at night, and for if you have a headache. If you have a OLED then it will probably help, so recommended.
Awesome & powerful little side app that when used in conjunction with smoked wallpapers and smiled night settings on a good launcher, provide a good hour or two more out of your battery when in constant heavy use.
It doesnt work at all it keeps gonig back to normal screen after 2 minutes such a horrible app I also think it drains the battery much faster than without it
Dont understand how to setup and how this works. There is an annoying violet bar on the side that flickers each touches on the screen!!
it does dim out the black, but things like tge google search bar become much more pixelated, almost as if it goes from 2880×1440 to 1440×720 it works like this for me an OLED lg v30
Sony xperia xa1 plus - same as sohm kane and after uninstall it i noticed a big different in both ways performance and screen color and even got a screen image print like what happens to samsung amoled screens.
Awesome for when you're phone is doing and charging to slow to use your usual functions. This helps tremendously.
Its very buggy. sometimes it starts up with the syrem sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it doesnt work at all. The notification controll barely works... i had a subscription for a year but i have to say this wasnt worth it for the 6 times it worked :( kinda buggy but when it works its awesome.! but like right now i cant turn it off or i have to uninstall the appm the filter disables for 2 seconds then just comes back when i go to the homescreen.
