Charged me $6.42 a month for months ( I didn't notice) for something I didn't sign up for. "PF+ Digital Membership". I checked with my club, they didn't know what it was either. "Please go into your device's store to cancel the subscription!" Wow; great advice. You don't think I already did that? The issue here is that I didn't subscribe to it in the first place, which means that this app made it WAY too easy to either accidentally enable it (giving it the benefit of the doubt) or it enrolled me surreptitiously. If I hadn't looked more closely at one of my e-mails it would have kept going and I'd been none the wiser. It's been charging me since January at least for something I never used and have no recollection of signing up for!
It's kinda slow, I spend about a minute waiting for it to load then you press the barcode and that takes its time to load then you have to accept the covid-19 terms then you can Scan. Since the apps main purpose seem to be the membership key. Why not have an option to load it immediately when launching the app. I can't link it to my watch and I don't use the videos. It's a good app I just wish it was faster.
I don't use, or have any interest in, any of the "features". The only thing I use it for is the digital key tag because you apparently can't get a physical one anymore. The app was working on my old phone. I upgraded my phone 3 weeks ago and haven't been able to log into it since. Even opening multiple support tickets to reset my password hasn't helped. I'm getting close to cancelling my membership over this.
App has a lot going on & UX feels clunky. Has a crowd feature so you can get an idea how packed the gym is - but it's only useful if PF members actually check in. App doesn't perform well at all when using WiFi. Tested it just now: it took five minutes to get to "retrieving membership" after opening app. After another minute or so of struggling, app said "connection failure". My wifi is solid.
It's functional. 2 stars for that. Otherwise it's a cluttered mess of ads with very little functionality. It makes me suffer. You can't plan your own workout. You can't see trainer schedules. Peak neoliberal hellscape app - the opposite of Taco Bell's app.
There are small things that add up to major things wrong with this app. Besides from it not always working while on their own wifi. Why isn't something so small and minute as entering your weight so easy? Usually every other app in the world allows you to type in the height or weight, buthere you have to scroll and scroll to find it. Overall the UX design and functionality is horrible
I am very frustrated with attempting to link my gym membership. My barcode on my keyring is lost, and the gym workers told me they do not issue new ones. Instead, I was told to utilize the app. After deleting everything to make room for this app, the app can only link my membership with the barcode. A barcode I don't have, and can't get a new one at the gym. I only downloaded this so I can sign into the gym without help. There is no phone number option. Thankfully a worker helped me resolve this
I wanted to work out at PF with my friends but when I went in, they told me I had to sign myself up with the app...? Um... Ok? That's weird. Download the app and it's been super slow. Can't connect me to any gym nearby, and I paid for a Black Card but it isn't showing that I have one. I've restarted my phone, wifi... Hopefully it's just an issue of needing a day or two to process but... We'll see.
It works fine except there's no way to change my credit card - when I click to edit payment information it only allows me to enter my bank account info. I don't use my checking account for purchases. Please update.
App is easy to use. I like the crowd meter. The only issue i ran into and really don't care about is the billing info. It's stuck on this months billing date. But again don't really care just putting it out there. App always opens when I go to it slightly slow at first but that's ok as well. No major concerns
The app is slow. There are ads. If I'm seeing ads I should get a free membership to planet fitness. I'm planning on deleting the app and printing out a screenshot of my barcode.
It's a joke that we live in the year 2022 and can't cancel your membership over the phone or through the app but they allow you to sign up over the phone and through the app . The gym experience is great but I don't live close to one anymore and have to drive over 30 miles to go cancel membership in person
I'm putting this here in hopes that someone from your development team will see it: I think Crocks are awful, and I don't want to get repeated notifications to buy them! I have this app to get into my gym. Not to get repeated notifications to buy the world's ugliest shoes. Stop sending me notifications to buy stuff! If it doesn't have anything to do with your facilities, my membership, or upcoming classes I signed up for don't send me a single notification, let alone 5!
App is horrible! The app used to be great, it would tell you where you should be on each machine for adjustments. Now it's just a joke! Waste of time and energy. Go back to your old app! I don't care how busy the gym is, would rather know how to use all machines.
App won't open and I only have a digital card to use because PF will not issue me a physical card, now what?! Intially, I didn't feel the need to elaborate. There are more benefits to using the app than checking in at the club. Instead of acknowledging the problem, and offering troubleshooting tips or to fix the problem, the developer's process of improvement is to focus on the obvious which doesn't resolve the primary issue of the app not working properly. 😕
Stalls. When using the scan feature to learn how to properly use machines, it stalls for 5 whole minutes! If it shows you how to AT ALL! It would be a great and useful feature if it only worked! You don't think I tried connecting with wifi?
As a new customer, I'd at least expect the main method of signing into a facility to actually work. This app won't even load; each attempt eventually timing out after a few minutes of thinking and doing nothing. Huge inconvenience, as I must wait for an employee to sign me in rather than just getting to business.
Won't even load to log in. I have uninstalled, cleared data, cleared cache, restarted my phone; no matter what I do it won't log in or load any features. Just a loop of "you deserve a second for yourself" and a spinning circle. Good thing I took a screenshot of my qr code months ago.
Could it load ANY slower? Is it powered by mice on a wheel? It should be powered by their PR department, who at least are quick to suggest super helpful things like "go on wifi!" Was it developed by dollar general's coding department? And exactly why would I turn it on other than to wait and wait for my qr code?
The app and most the fitness centers are well worth price of admission. The only thing it's missing is an oven, a washer, and a dryer, and I'd live there, almost perfect.
Acceptable sign in method. But as an app , it lacks sophistication. When I work out, I don't gauge my activity by minutes, but by repetitions on specific muscles/machines. I don't see any functionality for targeted, or specific routine. I also don't see the individual machines listed, or specific muscle, or even weight of dumbells. I also can't figure out how to edit / delete activities. Needs improvement.
