Been waiting for an easy accurate app that does this. Outstanding app. Accurate from the first. The two times I thought it was incorrect were both due to my lack of knowledge, not the app. For example, I snapped a plant I called one name but it showed up under another name. A google search showed me that the name plant goes by a variety of names. Fast accurate AMAZING app. Love this! And TY to my hubster for telling me about it after he saw it discussed online somewhere :)
Highly intrusive ads make free version unusable, but unfortunately that seems to be standard among plant-id apps. This app limits ads to 1 full-screen ad per id, which would be tolerable, if the ads weren't so LONG and LOUD and UNMUTEABLE. On my 3rd ID attempt, the app got stuck on a game ad that was not only loud and unmuteable, but also unending! I could not move past the ad after 10 minutes. It continued to play in the background even when I shut down the app! I finally deleted it.
I love this app! It's so easy to use compared to the others I've tried. No ads, fantastic! It provides a list of every species in my garden which is so awesome! The only reason I didn't give five stars is that many plants do not have the description or the wiki link. Some only one photo to compare. If that changes it would be perfect!

I love this app. I tried about 6 different plans ID apps, this one is definitely the most accurate. It’s correct 98% of the time in my opinion. I also like that you can save your answers, then you can go back if you can’t remember what that leaf in the Spring was. The only thing I don’t love is you have to have a strong WIFI connection, I have Century Link so I don’t. It is a great app and I would recommend it.
The app is very good, I have already identified many plants. The only bad thing is that it does not have an option to focus with a touch when going to take a picture so sometimes it gets blurred and because of that it's easier to take a photo directly with my phone camera app and then use the photo in this app.
This APP is anything but pathetic, (as one user has described it). I have had successful and correct idents on almost every photo I’ve taken, though the right answer isn’t necessarily the first suggestion offered by this great app... probably because the photo in question isn’t always ideal, or isn’t taken in the way/format directed by the APP creators. This type of software hasn’t been around for very long and is already so clever it astounds me. So of course it isn’t perfect... yet! But wow, it
This is obviously not perfect, but it gets enough correct that I feel comfortable using it. I have a very basic knowledge of plant ID but I think that it is essential to knowing what’s in front of me and knowing plant ID terms and basics helps a ton. The app seems to be way better with wildflowers than woody plants. Would still recommend.
Beautiful! The story can be followed in the attractive pictures - but the writing is equally engaging and I search myself lingering on each page. I'm noticing more of the natural landscapes around me now and appreciating their denseness more. My yard is a little plot in a little city but I'm eager to bring some of the ideas from this book into my gardens.
The "Ask a Horticulturist" part is super accurate and quick. I usually can narrow down the plant I'm looking at by just submitting a picture, but it takes a little effort to sort through the available possibilities. I've learned that getting a picture without any other species showing helps.
It’s almost IMPOSSIBLE to get your exact match by just snapping a picture and that’s not the apps fault necessarily because the diversity in plants is just too wide for any database to pinpoint an exact match first time around, but it does give you many different approaches to finding your plant in the end.
I have only had this app for a short time, but have given it a stern test which it passed with flying colours. Results were seven out of seven! Four were plants growing in my garden, and the other three were photos from my huge collection, deliberately tricky ones. They comprised a badly misformed Bee Orchid, an unusually marked Common Spotted Orchid and a Ghost Orchid. Every time the app was spot on.
The algorithms used for image matching are a bit hit and miss. Hellebore came up in a search but so did many flowers of completely different shapes. Only one or two were even similar. It has helped me to identify some plants in my garden but my mother-in-law is usually a better bet!
I tried this on a whole range of plants, even basic things like basil and my jalapeño plant. Doesn’t always work.plants that are less distinct it has a hard time with. But it has great potential. I’ll stick with it in the hopes they continually improve their search function.
Excellent use of machine learning, great idea, well laid out and developed, easy and fun to use, but clearly needs more data to get its accuracy up. The suggested solutions with clear pictures is a good workaround. :)

Bought home in late fall that had many plants finished blooming. In spring, some started budding/blooming but we’re not sure what they were or how to care for them. The PlantFinder app is very useful and user friendly in helping us determine what we have in our new surroundings and how to care for them. Would recommend to anyone that doesn’t have a green thumb - and to some who think they do.
GREAT APPS !!!! I tested this great app ... I ran dozens of weeds, trees and random trees (most of which I know) around where I live. I have been provided with details, history and even use of plants. Very simple and easy to understand. Sincere thanks to the creators and those who have added to this useful information bank! And importantly, it is also very helpful for me, when knowing more poisonous species to avoid, I will remind my whole family. thank you!
Phenomenal app! This is a great app! It works the best with plants that have some sort of unique distinguishing feature, but also works pretty well with the random stuff that comes up in my garden.
Excellent idea. Works great, especially being able to use photos from gallery. Just zoom up close, it'll give you the most relevant comparisons to compare with. 1000 stars.
I just love this application they don't take the coin until your view their decision. They are very quick getting back with you if you need help. Their cost for their service is very reasonable! Truly a very useful application for those that need to know a professional opinion.
Every time I take a pic it's clear in my camera view then goes blurry in the app view I even tried picking a flower laying it on the table and taking a pic and it still did not work. I tried 5 different flowers all common that were bought from Home Depot and it was unable to id any of them.
This app really works! Just snap a pic of any plant and the app identifies it. I use it when hiking to identify and get basic info on any plant that catches my interest. It's true the "20,000 plants" they mention in the app description is only 5 percent of maybe 370,000 flowering plant species, but the app has not yet failed to identify a plant for me. Maybe I don't get out enough.
It's very helpful with identifying the kinds of plants I have growing in my yard. I now know which ones to leave and what to get rid of, especially the weeds that spread quickly. My flowers don't have to compete anymore, since finding out that some of them are beautiful wildflowers which are nice to keep for the bees!!
It has been remarkably reliable though it sometimes requires multiple attempts before the correct effect is available. It would be very helpful if the editor function allowed for a easy crop and submit option.
Nearly always matches your photos, and, if not, the ask a horticulturist option is cheap and very quick. Loads of Information provided as well as identification. Great app
