PlantNet Plant Identification

Very good identification app. Important to know that the database is built on user submitted photos and identification, but with a decent photo it seems to be fairly accurate. *UPDATE: while everything above is true, there's an issue trying to upload multiple photos of the same plant to more accurately id it. this makes the app fairly inaccurate. I don't know if this is on purpose or a bug, but it needs to be fixed to get a better rating*

Love this app. I use it very often to identify unknown species of all types of plants and weeds. Interface is straightforward and results are usually 100% correct. It also allows you to identify a pic, then go back and add more different ones to aid in the ID (bark, leaves, flower, fruit, etc). You can even submit for verification by others in the community as well as get scientific name and facts.

I love the app. Only two things I'd improve: there needs to be a way to report the pictures showing in the results as a certain plant but are clearly wrong (among other pictures that are right). Secondly, I would love it even more if there was a way to save some of your plants (maybe I haven't found it?)

Very nicely presented app that works well for narrowing down the Id of a plant but rarely gets it 100% right, which is understandable considering how similar some plants are visually. Also, some of the user submitted data is wrong which makes things harder in some cases. Shows promise, and will stay on my phone as it's better than most alternatives.

Very useful! I work in the lawn and tree care industry and this app is very useful for identifying weeds, trees and shrubs that I don't know or am simply curious about. When the app can't identify what you took a picture of it asks if you would like to look it up in the world flora collection. With that comes links to Wikipedia or care guides or whatever it is you would like to know about most plants. Finally there's no charge to use the app, unlike most others. Simply fantastic!

Stunningly good app for plant ID, I've stopped carrying floras! Both common and some less usual are found correctly. Needs some practice to optimize photo style for it: background leaves and vegetation help get good ID, much better than with white or isolated from background; not too close but not too far (worth practicing with same plant at different distances); focus does not matter much

Perfect especially in accuracy and retrieving the data of the plant photo, but it would have been much more greater if can add other languages especially 5he common names of the plants. Scientific name is not popularly used so I can use to find the plant in the market or forums. But now after the last update its getting slower to fetch the visuals photos.

The App works really well for identifying plants, but for some reason it blurs photos after the picture is taken, if I take the picture outside of the app with the camera app, they turn out the same as what they look like on the screen and not blurry.

Easy to use; and operationally reliable. The recognition technology is excellent. I was skeptical about plant recognition apps because I have experience of several academic guides and found them difficult (and often impossible) for the leyperson to use. PlantNet disproved all my preconceptions and prejudices.

I just keep getting all this errors: "Technical problems can disrupt the proper use of the app", "An error occurred while loading floras", "Internal error(_TECHNICAL_ISSUE)", I may be the only one, but can't rate as good something that does not work in my device.

PlantNet does a great job of bridging the gap between inquisitive admiration and real world knowledge. This is the perfect app for anyone like me who loves plants and flowers but doesn't have the training or experience to identify them all properly. Whether your are just curious or looking to add to your own garden, this app will broaden your knowledge and give your a new tool to leverage in your desire for more knowledge.

Love this app,now I can have in digital form all my plants organized,do observations about their development as also get assistance in recognition of unfamiliar ones ,great viriety and beautiful references accordingly .Very easy to use and free from adds and irelavent files in the program.High Quality of photo files and accurate mathematical possibilities for the identification.

Absolutely brilliant. It gives you a % for accuracy. You can then use books etc to confirm. I use the app in the field to narrow down flower. Then take several pics and review at home. The app is superb.

I tried it immediately on two pots full of plants that had JUST started to grow (both from two different mixed seed boxes), and it immediately recognized them (I know they were correct because I remember the content of the seed boxes). Impressive!

An amazing app! Appears to be able to identify plants, cacti etc. Waiting to see if it has any glitches or will it suddenly become unresponsive? Best of all is FREE! Let's wait and see.

I used to love and use this app a lot but recently it just "hangs" and gives me technical error messages. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it many times but same problem every time. I'm now going to install another, similar app.

It's ok but not a guaranteed identification. It would be useful to have "definitely not" button as well as "confirm" when looking at a list of possible matches.

I was using this app before , installed again but identification takes so long like eternity and no result .. my pictures are good quality , I chose the right section ( fruit , flower etc. ) I mean I am not dumb, identification ability doesnt work and this is main reason we use this app .. at least use your old algorithm or google lens..

This is gamechanging technology. You still need to be alwet and use all tbe tools. To make a proper identification read the wikipedia articles and make the final identification yourself, but it beats a plain goigle search. I have identified scores of plants around my home and in the jungle, which I would otherwise wondered about for years.

I'm enjoying this app, after hearing about it from my wife who is using it a fair bit I also installed it. When out with the dog or in the garden it's nice to be able look at an unknown plant and to have a good chance of identifying it. Still getting used to it so 4 out of 5 starts. Reccomended. After almost two years this remains my go-to plant app. It really is fantastic. Uprated to 5 stars.

Very intelligent app, although I always double, triple check elsewhere. I absolutely love PlantNet and I'll make a donation soon, especially as I've had this app for over a year and it's never ever begged me for a penny....taught me so much and there's joy in learning.

I love this app and use it often when out walking. I do hope they add more features. A section under your profile with 'your plants' and it could include care schedule and information on best care practices. Hope they add that.

About 80-90% accurate. Insisted a native (TX, South, chaparral) tree was some exotic from India even when including multiple parameters. Another user said there is a professional version for a one-time flat fee. Don't know how to upgrade. Would like to identify down to variety/cultivar. If more detail is available, why dismiss it?

Amazing app! Very easy to use and very accurate. I use this for identifying native plants in my area and for land management.

It's ridiculous how well this app works to identify plants. It's easy to use and fast, can identify entire trees, weeds, even seedlings sometimes.
