Plants
You can browse plants by families, genus, search by common name or scientific name, and state. The detail species page include major characters and distribute map, and linked to USDA web site for detail information.You can use it in a field trip, write a note about a plant, take a photo using the phone camera, select a photo from the phone. It is all at your finger tip.
You can save the plant locations and later view all of them on a map.
You can also group them, and add various species into different groups for easy access.
Note: Data are from USDA plant database (2006), with 541 families, about 5000 genea, and 50,000 species. If have other data sources, please let me know. We can make it better. I am a plant lover too!

As a nursery professional I have been looking for something simple in which I collect pictures, information to show customers, but I wanted to pick the photos, a grove of this, that plant as groundcover etc...PLUS, my own plant geekiness can enjoy having an app to store pictures of rare, unusual or specimens. For those giving this low ratings because its not good for you, this is really something for professionals or serious GEEKS!!!!
It is helpful if you already know what you are searching for. It isn't helpful when you have the common names of plants. There's is also very few plants that actually have information on it.
it was usless.it says that tulsi and more are not plant. please don't install it. it has given alot money to google and other people for ratings
Almost no pictures and what few there are are either wrong or of some stupid chink.
Great app! About time one was "U.S. centric" as one complainer noted! Also, if you're smart enough to figure the app out and use it, it's very useful and helpful.
As a professional grower I was hoping this would have proved useful, unfortunately I found it disappointing.

I searched common plants with zero results found. And this is about plants??? Don't waste the time on this.
I can't find how to upload a photo for identification
It works backwards - you need the name and it tells you what it looks like.
All of the features gave zero results
I really wanted this app to work. Lookup is ok-ish, but notes don't work & the combo of those features is what makes this plant reference stand out from the others. I hope they improve it.
Pics would be nice, and more common names.

No drawings or photos, just alot of latin names. Installing.
This needs some work. Most plants have no pictures nor detailed descriptions of what the plant looks like. So, if you already know a plants name you can certainly find it. But if you don't know how to spell the name correctly the search engine won't help you at all. I installed this to help me identify plants, but it won't work for that at all. Each plant has a link to another website that contains a lot of information on each plant, but if I'm using the website why do I need this app? I like the idea that you can add your photos and notes, plus it will apparently place plants you find on a google map, so there are a few nice features. But only for those who already know the plants they are looking for...

This app appears to be US-centric, text-based and limited number of plants. For example (text-based) searching for Michaelmas Daisy yields nothing. Contrary to one review, it can't search from a captured image. You can look at images if you select the plant groups, but this isn't what I would call a search, unless you're hoping to take over from Google's servers. Perhaps you can save your own images in Notes, but what does this add to say Keep? All-in-all underwhelming.
