PlantSnap - Identify Plants, Flowers, Trees & More

The app is very glitchy, and a little unpleasant to navigate. I love the Community photo section, but I have not been able to post the screen keep bouncing me back to crop the photos. The identifying feature is relatively accurate and has helped a lot and figuring out what I have in my yard. Please take a look at the photo posting side of theings???

I downloaded this app to try it out. I hoped I could just casually take a photo of a plant in situ, but that was optimistic; to get the right answer (which I did about half the time) I think you probably need to stage the shot, for example by putting a sheet of paper behind the plant But I won't be experimenting further because the app misbehaved as often as not, either by displaying an error message to try again or by freezing until I force-stoped it.

Just recently downloaded PlantSnap. I must be following the instructions correctly. Only used it 3 times and within a minute had results. Pictures matched exactly. It's possible there may be some errors in the future but really not many apps are perfect for sure. Love this one so far.

I use this app fairly frequently and it has mostly served me well :) I don't think one will ever get a perfect answer all the time, but some times it is way off the mark. The app makes up for these errors in ID by being more robust than just something that will tell you the name of the plant. I do like that it gives a range of possible matches and that it includes info on how to grow the plant and even where to buy it. If only the photo galleries were as well curated as the rest it would be a 5.

When I first got this app it was brilliant! When you wanted to lookup a plant it came up with many options to choose from, if hadn't made the right identification, which it mostly didn't! Usually one of the options was right. Now it comes up with a random choice, nothing like the plant in the picture I've taken, and no alternative choices. Just tabs to buy its random choice. Completely useless!

Great free option! I don't use the app too often so I don't run into issues with the daily photo limit. It's not always correct, but I normally find that I just need to take a better photo of the plant and it'll find it. From there I normally back it up with a Google search

Okay, but could use some improvement. I have used this app the past few years and lately have had a lot of trouble with the camera part. It doesn't let me take a picture. This was broken last year too, however, I was able to upload a photo from my gallery last year. This year, that doesn't seem to work either. Bummer!

As usual. No good reviews. If you press a back button...forget about your 'free' count and plant list at all... It doesn't appear in it... I would advise to look for other apps which are way better and precise!

Doesn't seem especially good at finding matches for the plants I've photographed. Maybe if we could custom crop photos, instead of being stuck with the square shape?

It used to be great at identifying plants but the last 6 or 8 tries have been way off. The plant the app showed is not at all like the photo.

This app is horrible.... i been snapping plants and getting wrong results from you... some plants i know what they are for sure cuz they're very common and this app is so far off. How can you be wrong on almost every single one? Useless

Used to give a choice of plants. You could usually match to one. Now shows just one, invariably wrong.

Took 4 pics of the same plant and got back 4 common images of plants that have absolutely nothing to do with the plant in question. I'll pass.

Amazing app. Its definitely useful as a landscaper to help identify the plants that are normally difficult to identify.

totally awesome ! worked for me identifying a safflower. must have grown from my bird seed. beautiful orange flowers grew I didn't know what they were this app helped.

The absolute worse ever!!!! It doesn't identify anything properly/correctly!!! Monthly subscription fee taken correctly for a worthless product! Where's the subscription cancellation button!!!!!! If I could rate lower than one star I would! I want my money back!!!

This used to be able to be able to identify (with little accuracy but it often got me in the ballpark to be able to search) from my already taken pictures. Now, it does nothing when I tap the icon. Won't even open for instructions. I'm uninstalling.

Frustrating. Not accurate most of the time and not enough photo examples to identify. Taking plant photo is great but unable to identify. I have paid for the app subscription hoping I would get an response of those unidentified plants submitted. 2 years later nothing.

I love it, it's very accurate if you get a good photo. I use it quite often so I got the premium version, which is absolutely worth it.

This app has helped me identify trees and flowers for my research work and has made my work so much easier. Love it.

Very helpful and very accurate. I use it a lot to identify native and non-native plants in the US.

Now I know why people are not happy with this app, most of the time the app shows wrong plant, and its frustrating how come they identify the most recognisable plant not correctly 😑 😒 uninstalling it immediately

Could not identify anything. Tried it on even well known basic plants like lavender and it gets it wrong every time.

Sometimes the result given does not match the image I provided. It gets very confusing and no one can comfortably quote your site to identify the plant you're trying to identify. Please let me know if I am doing something wrong or that I might be leaving out in my search. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

I have no idea what I've paid for. I paid for a lifetime membership. I guess I should have stuck to free. Because I don't find this app useful in the slightest. I take pics of my plants and it NEVER gets it right. USELESS Oh. PLAY store tells me I have no active subscriptions and yet I paid for the lifetime membership. And I can't get a refund.???

a huge step up from identifying plants by myself. Even if it didn't always get the right species, I usually can find the correct genus on the list of suggestions.

Not needed to use for some time, now today it won't take snaps and the instruction button does nothing so am about to uninstall and look for an alternative.

I enjoy using this app and learning all that's growing in my garden and on country walks. Very useful.

A REDICULOUS app. They say they help us with suggestions and advises for the plants, but there is NO plant specific suggestions or advises just A GENERAL description on watering, light, fertilizing for ANY PLANTS with absolutly no specifics for one selected plant. All plants you add have all the same text for these topics...watering, light, fertilizing etc. There are absolutly no caring tips for your added plant. MISLEADING DESCRIPTION. Totally useless.
