Motorized Vehicle Number Signs are in the form of aluminum plates with two lines printed on them.
The first line shows: area code (letter), police number (number), and area code / serial end (letter)
The second line shows the month and year of validity, two digits each (e.g. 01.20 means valid until January 2020)
TNKB raw material is aluminum with a thickness of 1 mm. The TNKB size for 2-wheeled and 3-wheeled motorized vehicles is 250 × 105 mm, while for 4 or more wheeled motorized vehicles is 395 × 135 mm. There is a printed straight line with a width of 5 mm between the police number room and the validity period (the old one), while the new one has a white line around the TNKB and there is no dividing line between the police number and the validity period (from 2011).
In the upper right hand corner and lower left hand corner there is a special mark (security mark) printed on the Traffic Police symbol; while on the right hand side and the left hand side there is a special sign printed "KORLANTAS POLRI" (Indonesian Police Traffic Corps) which is a patent for making TNKB by the Police and the TNI.
In the middle of 2014 there was a change in appearance. The number plate is now slightly extended from its original size (for four wheels). In addition, there was a change in the position of the Polantas symbol and the inscription "Korlantas Polri", that is, the Polantas symbol is now in the upper left and lower right corner, while the inscription "Korlantas Polri" is in the lower left and upper right corner.
