Play2Sign

Your kids will enjoy learning the basics of American Sign Language while playing our engaging, interactive game. Whether they learn to sign just for fun or because they interact with deaf or hard of hearing peers, bringing sign language into your children’s lives will widen their horizons and enrich their education.
Play2Sign’s easy-to-learn interface is based on many hours of testing with children to find out what works. It introduces common words and phrases in digestible chunks (six words at a time) in an “immersive” game format that challenges players to learn vocabulary while interacting with a “real” teacher who encourages them to accomplish the goals of the game.

Immersive learning is known to be one of the most efficient methods for teaching languages and is especially effective with children 10 years of age and younger. Our immersive format means that we don’t use any written or spoken English at all! Instead, Play2Sign uses only images, each of which is paired with a video clip of an expert ASL signer.

The free version of this app includes --
- vocabulary words, grouped into categories such as animals, clothing, and colors. After practicing with a group of six words in a category, players can choose to play either the “erasing” game or the “memory” game to test their knowledge.

Play2Sign is self-paced and self-reinforcing, and our friendly, expressive signers make learning ASL fun. Whatever your reason for choosing Play2Sign for your child, we hope you find it helpful, educational, and engaging!

Not quite what u wanted to teach a 18 month old child with autism who doesn't speak. As she catches on I will be more than willing to use this app.

When you're doing the games, the guy's enthusiasm when you get the sign right made me smile. It may be silly, but having a game praise me so highly cheers me up. Plus the games are good for training sign recognition, and simple ASL grammar. My only wish is that it had more vocabulary.

I babysit 2 very young children that have a deaf parent and I want to help teach them as they grow and learn more myself. I downloaded the app but all I get is a white screen... Not happy at all...

I loved it but completed the entire app in about 11 minutes. this is one of the few apps I would pay for extras with. I wish I could buy more sections of this awesome app.

My 3 year old son is deaf just downloaded yesterday. We played the app together. He enjoyed it. I enjoyed it because we both are learning signs together. And it creates family time.

It's good but it doesn't allow you to learn much.

Agreed, I may be biased as I am the creator of this app! This app grew from our earlier work that we did when we were focusing on "spoken languages" for children. This app teaches a set of basic ASL signs n an interactive game format. The games are in immersion format - there is no voice nor text. Check it out!
