I had to install this app after last year's update to playbulbX rendered it unable to connect to my candles. 8 months later & still no update to playbulbX. At least this app is able to connect to the candle. However, compared to playbulbX, this app's color control is inferior. It won't smoothly transition through the color wheel. The cursor freezes on the left side forcing you to keep tapping instead of sliding. Also, there's no way to get a true red & orange is missing. This company is garbage.

I wanted to use the bulb as a wake up light but that feature doesn't work _at all_. When I save a timer setting the app forgets it immediately, i.e. when I go to the settings page again everything I entered is all gone. There is also no way of turning off a timer once it's activated (although the timer doesn't work anyway so I guess that's not much of an issue).

Cannot play music through the light bulb since the app got updated. However the UI for the RGB light controls is much better, that part works great. In the settings of the light bulb the music connect button does not actually work. Please fix this so I can give you 5 stars

Loved this product for 5 years until the new app update on 7/29/2021. Couldn't get the bulb sync with the Bluetooth on phone after app updated. It's a big loss because I really liked it for a wake up alarm as I'm light sensitive. I already tossed the light bulb in trash and moved on to another product

Absolute worst app I've ever downloaded. Crashes constantly and won't save anything. I can't find a reliable app now to control my devices. Save yourself the frustration and don't even bother with this turd.

Constant crashing and Playbulb X is blacklisted from my phone so I can't download it. These lights should've come with remotes instead of relying on a smartphone app. It does work eventually but ya know a physical remote would've been nice. 🙄

The changes are a little bit too much for the ones that are dedicated users for this app I can see once you get used to it it being a little bit more modern this age as it is now but but for the users dedicated to this playbulb and only use this brand for so long it's been that way changes is like have to learn something brand new all over again too difficult but once you get used to it I said you see the changes being better than the older one I like it but it takes a little bit if you're used

Total garbage. Do I have to keep my old phone around just to adjust my lights? Pixel 4 has no problem pairing with the light bulbs but this garbage app can't control the lights.. and on top of all this I had to give up my email and create an account and give this app full control of my contact list and my images also? Why?

Crashes constantly on my PH1. I got it to work once but always crashes when I try and leave the screen where you connect to the bulbs.

Every time i launch the app is a first time launch. No settings stored, no devices in list, no schemas, just clean app as at first start.

Worked once, then never again. After the first use, which was successful, the app crashed on each subsequent use the upon connecting to a bulb.

For no reason, they removed the red-yellow portion of the colour spectrum. Literally the only portion of the spectrum I have use for.

Does not work very well, poorly designed app, poor connection with Bluetooth.

Ton. E. Oct 22, 2021

App keeps crashing and deleting all light settings. Its easier to just turn on all lights myself than use this app. Thumbs way down

Will not work for the multiple devices I have. May pieces are useless. Sad, people have wasted time and money on cool devices.

Ana. K. Nov 25, 2021

The app loads then freezes. When it does load it doesn't remember any devices.

Doesn't appear to support earlier generation playbulb devices like the comet. Backward comparability is a must in smart devices.

Not sure where my past review went but this app is pure garbage. Does not work. It does not see my bulb but my iPad sees it perfectly. Uninstalled.

Works just about on my playbulb string aged I signed up. Some bits in language I don't understand but good for basic colour fun.

Always unpaired when app closed Everytime i turn app on, have to reconnect manually to my lightbulbs, so sad i have purchased this product. Can this be fixed?

im reading all of these negative reviews but it works perfectly for me i have the playbulb color and a Samsung Galaxy j3 luna pro and a moto phone over all it connects well and has many colors ten out of ten couldn't be more impressed

Pau. Z. Mar 24, 2020

Trash, both playbulb apps are utter garbage, don't continue to sell the lights if there is no way to control them!

Ani. W. Feb 20, 2021

It works fine but all of a sudden it can't find my lights over Bluetooth anymore

A. G. u. Sep 24, 2018

The app removes half the functionality of my lightbulb. It seemingly just can't connect to my lightbulb at all.

Pra. C. Dec 13, 2021

Does not work with my Playbulp color and annoying registration request. I just need to cotrol the lighting but couldn't

Works better than previous version but what happened to the flicker (candle) option?
