Connecting to my PLAYBULB comet takes a while - disconnecting, reconnecting, turning off Bluetooth turning it back on. After you've fiddled enough and you've connected the functionality is good and I enjoy using the app with the product. The app could use a visual update. I REALLY wish I could use the comet with Google home. Overall, it works after a while and it's fine, improvement needed.

For such a unique and well built product, you'd imagine the app would match. This app is poorly constructed and glitches often. It is not user friendly or intuitive. It doesn't find my playbulb after turning everything off/on, restarting, uninstalling/reinstalling and all the combinations. If you guys were to get this application in the same league as your products, you could unleash something really special. Sorely disappointed.

The app is garbage, it can technically connect and control the candle light but setting anything up is just the worst. Not user friendly at all, the interface looks like something an intern put together 5 years ago and overall the customization is very limited. Best to set it up once for the light to be turned on and off by tapping or by setting up a schedule to do that automatically, saving the config to the light and uninstall. Why can't I add the candle effect to any of the presets?

Unusable... I used the app without issue last year for my playbulb bulbs on our tree; colour changing features, timers, etc. everything worked perfectly. Set up was super easy it just worked out of the box, we were so happy we bought 2 extra boxes on sale end of season as spares; this year it won't even connect to the app, can't do anything anymore just unresponsive :( such a waste

I've always found the user interface to be very clunky and unappealing. The app also has issues with connectivity and the auto reconnect function. I have encountered many issues with the app since purchasing my Playbulb and I will never buy another one. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I don't hate it, but it definitely needs some work. It's like a product that never encountered quality control. And the company doesn't seem to care as updates are not a common occurrence.

This app does NOT work. This app doesn't detect my bulb, yet my phone's Bluetooth does. I've tried everything to fix it but as I can see from all of the other reviews, I'm not the only one. I'm really frustrated with this and it's obvious you will never fix this garbage app. This has been an issue for years. I will never again purchase any of your products.

I installed all 3 versions of this app and none of them detect the lights, but my phone finds them and connects instantly. The most recent app looks to be this one, but it hasn't been updated since summer in 2018, about a year and a half ago as I write this. This app never worked great to begin with but I'm locked out of my bulbs now because this app, nor the others can detect them. I just spent $15 on led lights I can't change now. This needs an update for the new android software

Hi, I love these lights, the devices are great. I have two and wanted to use them as wake up lights. However I can't seem to get the lights to remember the settings? I set the time and the gradients but in the morning they either turn at full brightness right at the set time or they don't turn on at all. I'm using Bluetooth on a Samsung galaxy S7 edge. Would love any advice to help two early risers living is dark London!

I really don't understand how such a good product can have such a horrible phone app, like without a good phone app how are we supposed to access the different colors and modes we are offered? How come my device can't be detected through Bluetooth all of a sudden? How come the interface itself is so strange? I really don't understand

This app used to work with my Playbulb rainbow. Now after the new android update, it doesn't work. My bulb will show up as a device, but as soon as I click on it after it is "connected", I get booted back to the main screen and the bulb doesn't show up anymore. Very disappointed. It was never great to begin with, but this update just took it to a whole new level of poor. ***Update: the app has been fixed and seems to be working fine now with my bulb***

for the most part its amazing. at times the blue tooth speaker works but blocks you from access the promgram like someone or thing turned it in to a listening device. or just to many blue tooth signal and tech in the area. so it gets confused. it's be a challenge to resynce it. totally worth the purchase as a whole. I have tried multiple others this one is amoung the best I've found. 👍

Good app, I use it daily. Well I agree, it asks for many permissions, but we can just deny them. And also would be great if you update the interface, because this is not well-arranged and if I turn on the effects I dont know how to turn them off

Iffy at best, unusable at worst. I love my playbulb strings but this app is pretty awful. I didn't care too much before, I would just restart the app when it wouldn't connect but now that my phone updated to Android 10 I can't connect to my lights at all anymore. Please update the app so I can use my lights because now they are useless.

The app is completely broken. No longer connects to bulb and development hasn't updated the app in a long time. Light is now stuck on the last color and unable to change, even with 3rd party apps. Completely useless at this point

On initial install it worked great. But after it got dark and I wanted to see my new lights none of the 3 strings would connect. Did everything I could think of to reset to no avail. My lights are now useless.

After update to os 10 stopped working. Had to dig up old phone to check what the real problem was. As the tec support kept telling me to turn off phone Bluetooth and so on. I don't want to keep having my old phone around just to dim the lights. Please fix this! Update the app..

Application keeps crashing . It is a faulty app that hasn't been well tested. Is there any other way to control the bulb as the app is a pain. After I install it it works once then it crashes and I need to uninstall and reinstall again.
