Conveniently Efficient! Easy to set up and easy to use. The fact that I no longer have to suffer a delay to check a msg helps out a lot during multiplayer games... because there is no pause. At times the delay takes way to long. Also, Having to scroll through letters one by one is a hassle.

This is such a handy app, because when you're away or you're just not bothered to turn on your console, you can simply use this app from your device to chat with your friends. I totally recommend it! However, the only strange but minor issue is that whenever I send a message to one of my friends, it shows me that the message was sent one hour ago, even though it lasted a few minutes after I sent it. PS could improve the app by adding features like deleting/editing messages or video chat.

I'm using an older device and maybe that's the issue but I've had such a buggy experience with this app. When it works it works great. But there are times where it will sign me out for no reason I can find. When it does that whooboy, I'm out of luck. Can receive messages like I'm logged in but any attempts to load into the app will then take me to the log in screen which only gives me an error at sign in attempts. Like I try to tell it I'm not a robot and that's as far as I get. Tried all the troubleshooting. I've contacted customer support. In probably a month or two it will likely just suddenly work again no explanation just like when it broke down. That's been my experience with the app. Nice when it works extremely fruatrating when it doesn't.

I used to really enjoy the app because, and this is obvious, it made it easy to communicate with those who didn't use mics and you could message while offline on console. however, now I'm noticing the app consistently disconnecting from the network. I have a strong Wi-Fi connection in my home and it still disconnects or cannot connect to the network so I'm constantly force closing and reopening the app to send messages. it's gotten extremely annoying. two stars.

Easier way to talk to your friends if you cant text on the ps4 yourself or if you are just faster texting on the phone. But it's only negative part is the fact that your texts refresh every minute or so. So you have to wait 20 seconds to get the message on your phone. Though it'll be there on your ps4. But everything has it's disadvantages. I atill think it's a great app though!

Frequently fails to send messages with the error "Cannot connect to network", even when I have a great connection to my network, or when I am on WiFi, even when all other services on my phone are working fine. If I use the app a few times a day, I'll have to resend the majority of my messages, sometimes three times. It really needs to be looked at.

20% of the time it works every time! Majority of the time it says cannot connect to PS4 and gives me an error code. Oddly enough I can register my own PS4 and connect to it but if I stop the connection and try to come back to it, it doesn't connect again. Gotta reregister all over again. Glad they expanded it but upset I can never get mine to connect.

Sony wants you to download multiple apps for a full experience. This feature used to be lumped in with the PlayStation app, why they split it into its own app eludes my knowledge. Either way, it takes far too much space for a messenger app and has many issues with functionality, most noted is the one where it repeatedly tells you that you're disconnected from the internet. Otherwise it does what it's supposed to do, let you send and receive messages via psn. Just remember their old PS app allowed you to do this while also being able to browse the PlayStation store and view other people's profiles. Now you gotta download two apps to get the service of one.

I wish I could pause and start, or even view my active downloads. Or at the very least get notified on my phone when something is done installing. Also I can't stand the fact that I need a second app just to send messages to my friends. Its super annoying and needs to be fixed ASAP. Plus the features I listed are not too much to ask for.

I love the app, it's extremely useful if you don't have a keyboard or don't have space for a keyboard. I experience this is issues, and it's when I try to enter the app or message someone. It also says "You don't have internet Connection" but I do, I even tried out my speed test, and things were normal. Can you fix's this issues please, thank you.

You still did not remove the bug where every time I tap on password bar below the email bar in sign in page in app the virtual keyboard doesn't pop up and not allowed to type in the password bar. I call it a "bar" but it has the underline....I can't type the password in. The device I am using is an old Samsung galaxy note 10.1 tablet, most apps now I come across are no longer optimized for my device. And other apps are not compatible with it either. Looks like I need to use web browser to do my communication. Oh well. I didn't expect the unexpected.

The only app you really need for PSN. Again, I don't really have any problems with this app, but this and the PS app should just be merged together. It literally makes no sense why you would waste the extra storage space for two separate apps for the SAME SERVICE. Also, I don't like the noise it makes when you send messages. End rant.

It's a great app. Use it all the time when I don't feel like turning my PS4 on. I would suggest it if you have a newer phone. I have a LG Stylo 5, and it works perfectly. I had a LG Stylo 4+,( Just like a year difference between manufacturing ) and I would open the app, and it would cause my phone to shut down, turn on, freeze, and restart. So, if you plan on getting this app, get a newer phone. But in all, a very great app.

This is an awesome app to keep up with your friends on ps4, as a sort of way to 'text' them when you're away. My only complaint is that it stores way too much junk. I had to delete groups, uninstall, and redownload it, as it had racked up 4gb of info. Crazy... Other than that, very handy for chatting, or off-mic communication!

Used to be an awesome app and not only that but helpful, but since the last update it's just causing tons of problems. It will act like it is loading up in my profile but then goes to a sign in or sign up screen. From there if you wait 5 seconds or if you hit a button it will automatically say error and then there's nothing else you can do except go back to the first screen. If they fix this problem then I might redownload it, but in the meantime I am not going to deal with it.

I really like this app, it's a good way to see if your friends are online and able to text them without hopping on. I believe that this should have a callin (Voice chat) system implemented where we can call from phone and still talk to friends who are on PlayStation. Also if we can actually get the pictures we send or whatever to them from sendin to their inbox messages shown.

What a godsend! Trying to type with a PS4 controller is the worst! This app makes it easy to see when your friends are online, what games they're playing, and text each other. Its stupid you cant see profiles from this app though, at least a basic rundown would be nice! Also wish we could edit the friends list from the app so I can seperate my friends by game.

It's a an extremly useful app for speaking with online friends when no other option is available. It would be a 5 star if a few things were optimized. Personally, I've had trouble with the notifications. It's way too common that I get a text from one of my friends and I don't get a notification for it. 100% something that should be looked into.

If you're inside the app, the app doesn't update messages in real time, like WhatsApp and Discord do, so it's impossible to coordinate a session with a lot of people when everyone has to be refreshing the message group all the time. In addition, the app loses connection to PS Network over 50% of the time. This never happens on Discord or WhatsApp. When you hold a message that has failed to be sent, you only get to copy it. There should be an option to try to send the message again.

Messages won't send. When you hit send, the send button can no longer be used. You have to constantly close the application in order for anything to work. This application needs a touch up, after closing the application and re-open, you're left in an infinite loading screen that makes you have to close it again. It's good to read messages, but the reply system is Level A Tier garbage.

It is a very useful app! Simple design and has the features needed for a player! Although the app itself is indeed useful, I can only give it 4 stars because it does not update in real time, you need to open the app for the conversations to update and sometimes, you still need to wait for the message to arrive for a few minutes. Basically, you receive delayed message and you cannot reply immediately

Sending messages are working normal (might a second or two to send the message) and all, but the app might take a while to connect to the network. It also takes about 3 refreshes to allow me to see my online friends in the Friends section. But other then that it's working just fine

Needs some pretty substantial reworking. Unsure why this is a separate app from the PlayStation App, (the one for everything else besides messaging.) Maybe there's a technical reason as to why Sony made this choice. :/ Aside from that, app crashes at least once per minute when in use. I'll be midway through typing a message, and my phone will notify me with "PS Messages keep crashing," and offers option to close the app. Really don't want to reiterate my message for the fourth time.

It's a decent messaging app. You can see who's online, what they're playing etc. Idk why there are 3 separate apps but w/e. And due to how Playstation has decided to do their messaging system on PS4 (after a past update) u can't actually delete any of your messages. The app caches ALL of your messages & pictures for EVERY message thread u have. There is no delete. Which makes the app eat up a TON of space because it saves screenshots & picture indefinitely which starts to accumulate over time.

Pretty good. But the only problem is when I receive a message on my PS4 and I grab my phone to respond then I click the Playstation notification on my phone and notice that the messages aren't there. It's only showing old messages then after about 10 seconds the messages load in. If that would get fixed then I would give it a 5 star but for now I'm giving it a 4. It's damn good besides that one miniscule issue that's quite annoying.

This no longer works on my mobile device. When signing in, it says I need to update to a supported browser but I have the latest versions of both Chrome and Opera on my device but it won't display the ReCaptcha. This makes it unable to sign in. After checking what it needs, I would have to downgrade my browser for this to work which is not possible. Poor design if they themselves can't use the latest browsers.
