PLOCK Pool Clock

Fed Up With Slow Play & Late Nights? Introducing the PLOCK Pool and Billiards Shot Clock App. Use it to ENFORCE your league’s shot clock rules that are already on the books. It’s simple and free! If used regularly throughout the match, team pool league night should no longer take allllllllllll night!
SO WHAT ARE MY LEAGUE’S SHOT CLOCK RULES?Most amateur pool leagues DO allow team captains to use a mutually agreed upon shot clock of whatever length the captains decide, and enforce whatever penalty (i.e. warning, or warning then ball in hand) the captains decide. Don’t hesitate to check with your league director for confirmation of this ability.

**********HOW IT WORKS********1. ADJUST SETTINGS
- Select Standard Shot Length
- Select Timeout Length(Used for Coaching Timeouts)
- Select Max Alert Volume

2. DESIGNATE A TIMEKEEPERWe suggest the teams’ scorekeepers or captains take turns “manning” the app since they’re most likely to be paying close attention to each shot.

3. USE & ENJOY!
- Click “NEW SHOT” to restart.
- Click pause button to pause (e.g. bathroom or cigarette breaks)
- Click “TIMEOUT” to add time
- At 15 seconds remaining, phone will vibrate and warning sounds will emanate from phone.

**********SUGGESTIONS********
- Again, most amateur pool leagues DO allow team captains to use a mutually agreed upon shot clock of whatever length the captains decide, and enforce whatever penalty the captains decide. Don’t hesitate to check with your league director for confirmation of this ability. We also encourage teams that want to implement league wide enforcement of the shot clock to lobby their league directors to create a local bylaw.

- We suggest the teams’ scorekeepers or captains, or even another designated individual, TAKE TURNS operating the app. No one person can be expected to operate the app and pay that close attention for every shot of every match throughout the night. The responsibility should be shared.

- We suggest that the first time the shot clock expires on a shooter, that shooter should receive a warning. The second time, they should be penalized. What that penalty is should probably be determined by an agreement between the captains. Or if your entire local league has agreed to use the app, then the local league representatives should create a bylaw that specifies the penalty.

- PLOCK will only be as useful as you make it. If you’re diligent about using it for each shot of each match, it should really shave a considerable amount of time off the total match time. If you’re lax about it’s implementation, don’t expect much to change.

I really don't like the audio side of it. Making it adjustable for time as to when warning starts would help. I also don't like the crescendo. A beep every second at the same volume starting at 10 countdown would be helpful. Other than that, it is a very good simple app
