The new app version only supports charging with keys for most charging points in my country (Italy). This makes the app essentially useless. The old version was great and worked more or less seamlessly, the new version feels like a step back. I will switch to other charging apps for the time being.
Works great. Very broad international roaming, Plugsurfing is a great product and the ONLY one I use for public charging. Criticism of version 7 app: apps that refuse to close with the back button and other "custom" UI decisions (ie top layer sliding half to the right to reveal an "underlying main menu") is honestly more than a bit silly. May I politely suggest to revert to a more straightforward design?
Don't bother, just get a shell recharge card. Couldn't charge in Austria because they hadn't renewed their contract with vkw. Spent ages trying to get it working as no information in app. No answer from plugsurfing support but I also contacted vkw who told me straight away. So I downloaded the shell app and used that. Unreliable charging card, no thanks.
The most important thing what a charging app should do, is let you charge your electric car. That's the most basic requirement of a charging app. With the current app version however, it is not possible anymore to: (1) scan a QR code of a charging station, and (2) start a charging station by app. Unfortunately the charging stations in my neighborhood only support charging by app, making it impossible for me to charge my car any longer. This simply is not acceptable for a charging provider.
Very poor. Since the update I have lost the use of my previous rfid card. No way to add it back. Contacted support some time ago but no response. Plugsurfing,.... do you guys do customer support at all? Do you even care about the user and the issues that your new and apparently untested app causes to our customers? Do you not think responding to the problems with your app is better then just ignoring them? Minus 5 if I could give it. Update: Issue still not resloved after one month.
it is so difficult to use. does not show the charger number and difficult to find chargers around. the older version was 10/10 and the newer version is sad .001/10. I had to login again, make new account, store my card details again, get my credit card approved and much more. something that is time consuming and irritating- once you do it , you wish not to repeat it. i am dissapointed.
Forced to update, then the new version forces me to change my password. That's fine, but it doesn't accept a new and secure password generated by the same password generator with the same options as for the old account. "Invalid characters", but it doesn't tell you which characters are valid so it's an endless guessing game! Uninstalling until they provide some updates to fix such issues. The previous app worked OK, hopefully the new one will as well.
Update losing payment option. Information about it sent out a month after update. Annoying and problem using it on two trips before figuring out that the issue was with the app and not with the rfid..
Charging works fine, so that part of great. When trying to report issues, the app gives me "authentication required", which isn't particularly helpful. More importantly, for stations around where we live (Berlin 10781) the status of charging points is not particularly accurate (and with the above bug there is no good way to report it).
- 3 out of 3 sessions were charged erroneous! - Charges are higher than some other apps. - Price is given and quoted in local charging currency, but later drawn in my local currency, at a very high exchange rate -is that even legal? - On the plus side, the app is ok-ish, and customer service good; just wish I didn't have to contact them after each session... (service accounts for 2 of the 3 stars) Had I been charged correctly, it would be a convenient app, but for emergency charging only, alas.
Has worked like a charm before the update. The new app lacks all functionality. Well played. Must have been hard to break every feature
After adding my credit card and clicking 'Save' I get an error 'requires payment method'?????. Tried several credit cards, not working, neither are debit cards. Support is not accessible by phone, only email / webform
Doesn't tell you the charger brand. You can't favour the more reliable ones and avoid Ecotricity for eg. Concerned might be more expensive than paying direct if I were to give the app my bank details? May not be - but unclear.
I'm speechless. They had an app that worked, now nothing works. Most useless peice of junk. How can this app pass test mode an QA?? Utter garbage
Seems that they finally solved my issue with my lost rfid and the credits that was available in the previous version, only took them 3 weeks to solve, great to get rid of your customers
Journey planner is missing. Before it was updated we had a very handy journey planner. Now the app has become useless
Awful! Ever since the Fortum acquisition, things have been going down hill. Lots of issues with many stations, the app has had no improvement of its user experience, and customer support seems like a few cats typing ready-made answers. I recommend avoiding Plugsurfing until they get their act together.
I just installed the new version of the app. Now it's totally unusable. Do not install this version!. No chargers in the maps and no other functionalities anymore. So just a empty map. I'm also waiting a long time for getting refunded. So I suggest to not use Plugsurfing app and company. There are enough better partys in this market.
Seems that billing is done later instead of just showing the sessions, on the machine it says the session ends after pulling the plug out but still on app the session was still going. And during a regular Sunday the system was down, couldn't charge, couldn't sign up, or even reset password on site... In 2020? Come on, some updates needed.
Looks good at first. Then adding a creditcard payment method is not passing because of invalid creditcard details. 100% sure eveything is correct. Seems like a clone of fortum or some whitelabel shizzle they are using. Switching to other app for now.
Charging authentication bugs out all the time. Also, the button to report an issue is broken and keeps giving the error "the content you are trying to view could not be found". Map doesn't have all charging points.
it is hard to turn something great into a nightmare. it requires special skills and countless working hours. and the UX team has now clearly achieved that.
Their service can't accept debit cards. It only accepts credit cards and Paypal accounts according to their chat support. It's a design choice and not a bug according to their chat support. So you (and I) won't be able to use their service if you "only" have a debit card. That's a rediculous design choice and I'm surprised that Tesla would recommend using this rediculous service.
for all the free chargers in my country the key is required, and when key is purchased then it does not work on any chargers
Doesn't allow log in with the correct password so unable to access the app
Just a warning as if you're Google account isn't European you will get a "not compatible" error - if you can see the app at all. Plug share has limited the visibility to European accounts, but the "not compatible" is Google gibberish.
Less than half of chargers are shown for my town. Useless. Update: No chargers at all in Romania. What's the scope of this app??
From my point of view using Plugsurfing is very difficult. I don't have a e-car, however I work at place who wants to have this facility for there customers, and I have to say its not very good only 1 customer has successfully used it, no phone number for customer service, its terrible. Very bad service, and unhelpful to the likes of me trying to assist a customer using our facilities where I work. I'd give it a 0 out of 5.
