Worst streaming app from a major network (Paramount/CBS). 1) The user interface is difficult to navigate even when it is working properly. 2) The live TV that automatically loads needs, at the least, to have the option to turn off - maybe just remove it. 3) Frame skipping, frame skipping, frame skipping. 4) No search bar - really? I recommend the Pluto team take a weekend, rent a place, buy a case of popcorn and watch movies on other popular streaming apps. The other teams are doing it right.
The old version allowed for you to drop down the notifications by pulling down from the top of the screen wile watching TV and the phone is on its side for a bigger picture, after update that no longer happens, it reverses the screen back to its original format. That's not right the whole purpose of updating is to make an app better not worse. What are you guys thinking get with it man
Does not work with Chromecast! Has not worked right since install! You have service issues that need to be fixed with Chromecast to get it to load properly and play the media correctly! Takes too long to load or won't load at all and keeps disconnecting! You need to fix the CBSN feed. Keeps cutting out every 15 seconds! This is an ongoing problem! Now your audio and video are out of sync after every time an ad runs and won't correct itself!! Ongoing problem!!!
The app doesn't auto-rotate correctly with my device after choosing to view fullscreen. It begins to display everything at 90-degrees. I figured out the app can be manipulated by choosing to view fullscreen, followed by minimizing the app display, followed by turning the device auto-rotate function off, followed by maximizing the app display while holding the device in the desired orientation. But if you change orientation, it goes back to 90-degrees. It's a real headache...
UPDATE. No longer for Android TV. Everything but the splash screen is portrait narrow, phone size taking a third of the screen. Disgraceful. I thought it was bad before. ORIGINAL. No Channel Guide on some devices using android tv. Picture is always full screen and the ONLY control you have is the up /down channel arrows on the right. So you must laboriously scroll through all channels to find one to view. Also, WAY TOO MANY COMMERCIALS. Picture quality is good.
The app is simple enough to use. I can't speak to the content, but will say I've seen several good movies/shows as I've browsed. At this point, the biggest issue I've encountered is functionality with Google Chromecast. It's a big one if you're a heavy Chromecast user. While trying to watch a show (series), not only does the app not auto-play the next episode, it actually fully disconnects me from the Chromecast. After every episode. It's enough to make me want to avoid using it until fixed
Everything about Pluto is awesome, EXCEPT, the ads. I don't mind ads for a free service, but the repetition of these ads are ridiculous. Please either bring on new advertisers, or even offer a cheap subscription service to eliminate ads. Honestly, I think I know more about Asheville NC than I do about my own home town thanks to seeing the ad hundreds of times per week. That's just one example. Overall, it's has great movie, TV and On Demand selections. I recommend it. 💯
I used to be able to view the guide on my Sony Bravia SMART TV. Now, it only displays no program information and when I go to the channel, all I see a black screen. The app is just as useless because there are channels that are simply inappropriate or useless channel altogether. I am going to uninstall it from my television and see no use to going back to it. Yes, the software on my television is current as well as all the updates. I cannot see myself clearing the cache, data, uninstall, or reinstall the if the same problem exist. Thanks, but no thanks Pluto TV as you were great in the beginning, but no longer great... Now, you are just another app that I am uninstalling with the others.
**UPDATE PLEASE** There is no reason to "favorite" channels or add movies and shows to your "watch list" if it doesn't save anything. That's the whole reason I signed up for the app to do these very things! I get 4-5 emails EVERYDAY about shows and movies but I can't save anything???
The app has been working really well since i installed it.. but now since the last current update the channel listings sections the words are all messed up it's impossible to read what the program is. It's doing this on my phone, i have the app installed on my tablet and both my Amazon fire tvs and there's not any issues with what i described. Can you fix this problem. Also i have uninstall and reinstall and it's still not working right
The casting experience is pretty terrible. They play commercials every 8 minutes and when the movie resumes, the sound is distorted and only plays out of 1 speaker. When you pause the movie to re-cast, it doesn't resume from where you started off and you have to re-watch all the commercials for every 8 minute segment. In addition, the closed captioning doesn't work either, so that you can at least rely on the subtitles to follow a show. Frankly, it's not worth watching a movie for.
Used to be a good. Now every time you open it, it auto plays something and you can't shut it off. It even forces picture-in-picture on top of anything else you might be trying to do. When you browse it interferes with unwanted pop ups. Now I just use Tubi without all the forced annoyances. Regarding Pluto's canned response, it is the updated version. That's the problem, the update includes all these annoyances that were never there. Didn't even take time to read my concern, or address the issue.
I grew up watching TV with commercials so this isn't a problem. I do wish they wouldn't repeat the same commercials at every break A variety would appreciated. My big concern is when casting switching from commercials or back to the show, numerous times there is a sound distortion that is overwhelming. I found that if you hit the 10-second back feature it goes away. This is shouldn't happen. No other streaming service with commercials do I experience this glitch.
Some good choices but WAY too many commercials! It is impossible to become deeply emersed in some storyline, (the goal of most movies), or tense, unfolding scene to have three or four full length ads per commercial break, and at least five or more times per movie. I would suggest offering an option to watch the adverts together before the movie, but it would take an hour to get through them all. I get the need for ads, but c'mon, man..
App works well, always something to watch. But I was somehow logged out across all platforms, and in numerous attempts to reset password, I have yet to actually receive the reset email. I eventually opened a help desk ticket that was closed without resolution. I attempted to reach out to the help team to resolve my issue, but never received a response. If I could log in, this is a 5 star app.
App is a bit unrefined. Upon opening for the first time, it immediately just started playing "live" TV. Opening to guide or on demand would be nice. Skipping back in on demand skips ahead. Forward/back fences need adjustment. The ads are horrendous. I get it's a free service and you need ad revenue to maintain that, but a one hour episode takes nearly an hour and a half with the 5 unskippable ads every 5 minutes of show play time. At least offer a skip after 10-15 seconds.
I liked this app. I grew up with ads, no problem there. Great selection of shows, and the layout was great. Then it stopped loading. Kept saying I wasn't connected to the internet. So I loaded it to a different device, eventually same thing happened. The same thing happened on the third device. I give up. Too bad, it was really good. While it lasted.
I love Pluto and it's conservative channels and other programming! Good entertainment. Not sure if they give the same content warning to everyone or just some. After paying cable for years and still watching commercials, I can deal with the commercials. Only problem I have is on my phone when the show breaks every few minutes and repeats itself. Weird.
OK app but the guide only goes a few hours out so you really can't plan ahead if you want to find something to watch on the future. It's only convenient if you just want to search for something when there's nothing good on real tv. They also don't want to hear from you as they have no easy to find contact option. I'd give it one star but they have MST3K... So t get 1 more.
Used to work great now I can not REWATCH shows on demand over again it passes over all the shows I have seen(and want to RE-SEE) and begins on many seasons forward that I haven't seen yet... It is also very annoying when it is turned on it starts playing a show and loudly that I have no interest in and you can not X out or shut it off ! Who ever heard of not being able to turn off an app until you are able to select a show you WANT to watch...Using. Amazon android tablet .Giving three stars for the amount of selections to watch but how the app works and navigation not sogreat
On demand is terrible. No search function. Had to sift thru a huge category list and guess which one my movie was under. Can't open a category without scrolling to the end of the suggestions from it. Found my movie on my 3rd try but there is no way to save it for later. Did it all again when I was ready for it, paused to get snacks and it went to the home screen. Went thru all that AGAIN and this app had the audacity to BLARE commercials every 5-7 mins. Movie was completely unwatchable.
7 ads every 5 to 7 minutes??? You mean to tell me CBS needs that much money to show that many ads in that much time in order to pay for this free app/free channel? Anyone needing free TV & free movies to watch, app or otherwise, do yourselves a favor & download anything else. I like Tubi. They usually show about 4 ads every 20 minutes, unless something drastically changed by the time I left this review.
It's just like having cable tv service besides not having any local channels or any of the major channels. It has what I do enjoy watching. Just wish they would change up the shows line up and stop repeating one episode over and over different times during the day and for days on end but it's free and you get what you pay for. It still deserves 5 stars!
Great variety of shows and stuff but there's one particular commercial on here that is extremely annoying and making me not even want to use this app. The one that is the 8 year anniversary commercial with the repulsive and repetitive song that sounds like it's actually inappropriate with a repeated line that sounds like it says, "I like it when you lick it like that..."
Seems to have problems loading on my phone & Roku! Literally can't sign in, which I already did earlier today! Doesn't play a series by episode automatically; I was watching one series, and when each episode went off it went automatically to a whole different show I wasn't even watching! This app needs a serious makeover ASAP! I hate how there's no search option to choose from. Absolutely no cooking shows 👎🏾 And they only seem to respond to certain ppl's reviews 🤔
Well, I did give it a 5 star but app won't open ..My past 2 phones I've had this app. I enjoy it and it's recently gotten much better with more shows on 24 hours. Please add Bewitched!!!! Three's company seems to only show a few seasons. Nearly every day it's the same episode I saw day or two before, ugh. Folks complaining about commercials are ignorant. TV has commercials too, and this app and your phone has a mute option. Nobody likes ads, but get over it... This app if for FREE! Thanks Pluto!
I've only used the app once and probably won't ever again. I saw that an old movie from my childhood was available so I download the app to watch it. I understand the need for ads and usually don't mind them, but they seemed a bit too excessive at points. There where ad breaks every 10-15 minutes like you'd expect from cable TV, which is understandable. But having 4 ad breaks in the last 20 minutes of a movie is just too much.
