Pocket Forest: Animal Camp

Adorable art, simple but challenging gameplay, and fairly minimal unasked-for adds. I'm not one to spend money on apps no matter how much I like them, but the devs of this one deserved it. Bought the free quest refresh perk, and I'm glad I did. Definitely check this one out if you like puzzles and/or merge games. A single level can last anywhere from 5 to upwards of 35 minutes, depending on how much thought you put into your moves. Edit: Sadly crashes the second I open the app rn.

Really like playing this game, but i've been playing for a few months, get golden eggs every time and have maxed out all the first stage characters except 1. And I can't get it for some reason. It's very frustrating and I want to delete it. I can't find a help/support button either to talk to someone about it. It's a good time giller but not worth the frustrating no progress.

This is a Match 3 game. And even though it is part of what feels like the most common genre on mobile, it is actually quite the rarity, in that it features ((1)) a theme that meaningfully informs gameplay ((2)) gameplay with actual depth and variety and ((3)) a very reasonable and even user-friendly monetization model. Theme: As the name says, this game features animals in a forest. There are only three tile colors: brown (animals), green (plants) and blue (water). Your most important source of points is not big matches, but rather animals being fed. In order for that to happen, you need to raise animals by matching brown tiles, grow plants by matching green tiles and water those plants so they bear fruit by matching blue tiles. Gameplay: This is the kind of Match 3 game where you upgrade tiles by matching them and can only match tiles of the same color and level. The higher the level of plant and animal tiles, the more points they give upon feeding. Bigger matches give additional moves, but each match only yields a single upgraded tile. This creates a neat balancing act where you want to make small matches to quickly generate points, but also need to make big matches so you don't run out of moves. Later areas introduce new mechanics like forest fires and thieving raccoons, which serve to shake up the formula quite a bit. Monetization: As with most free apps, this game features in-app purchases, forced ads and optional ads. The latter have four functions: ((1)) doubling your animal collection progress at the end of a level ((2)) giving you 10 additional moves if you run out ((3)) immediately refreshing the mission list that allows you to earn power-ups and ((4)) granting you a single power-up that occasionally floats across the top of the screen in a bubble For each of the former three, there is an IAP that permanently removes ads for the respective function, as well as a package deal for all three perks. Any purchase of any kind also removes forced ads. I bought the package deal for €5.49 and don't regret a single cent. You can also buy Forest Treats (progress) and Golden Tickets (power-ups), but those are really only there for when you want to throw extra money at the devs after the package deal, because they are very generous with both by default. I'm currently sitting at 100+ of each of the power-ups and 50+ Forest Treats, and I don't expect to make a dent in either anytime soon. The only complaint I have about this game is just how rare the rare animals seem to be, even in Golden Eggs. You can max out any animal's affection with Forest Treats, but in order to do that, you need to find the animal at least once. But this is a very minor complaint, given how genuinely enjoyable the base gameplay is.

Would've been five stars but after the holiday update, all my progress was lost?! Signed back in with Google play games account, but unfortunately all the progress I'd made I don't want to restart the whole game again from level one &- have no animals in my collection, besides I'd almost mastered the level with the serpent, &- I have a phobia of them! Don't particularly feel like repeating that –

Very cute and fun game. But it does not save your progress. So you get tiles upgraded to level five or more, have 35 moves left but the game gets interrupted or you have to step away you come back you're back to 0. all that progress is lost, all the progress towards stars thus eggs is lost ☹️

I like it. I like how it's one if those models where you only play for a booster and ad removal. I love games that let you play however long you want. It's a lot if fun and the boosts are pretty helpful...I just wish apples were easier to obtain without spending money

My new go-to game! I really love this game. It has a simplicity to it once you get used to playing, but at the same time it is engaging and quaint. The graphics are adorable, no bugs or issues as of yet, even though I've only had it a few days, though I must confess I have been playing a lot since downloading!

edit: The team behind this game is astonishingly patient and friendly. and there is a "pay for ads to stop" option that I wasn't aware of previously, which instantly solves my one ripe in my original review. great game, great folks, well done. <3 original: a little ad-heavy, but very fun and the art is adorable

Super addicting. This game is a very well put together puzzle game. There are different skins for the different pieces of the game and that is my absolute favorite part, besides collecting the animals, as well as the different game modes.

It was a cute game with kind of adorable art, but quickly got boring within an hour. The sounds were annoying after a few minutes, as well, so i ended up playing eithout them on for most of the time.

Laggy after update. Very cute time passer, but after the most recent update it's too slow. It's like playing on dial-up internet. I'm bummed, because I do enjoy this game. But I don't want to sit for 5/10 seconds everytime I merge or slide. :(

I love this game, I love merging games like this plus the artwork is super cute they did a very good job. Only thing I wish is that their were less ads but I understand that's where they get the cash from. So all together a very well put together app and I hope they update with more puzzles and animals in the future

Very cute art style. Easy to figure out, but the puzzles are harder than expected (if you're trying to get all 3 stars), which is cool.

Beautiful puzzle game The game has a beautiful artstyle which is cute but not too cartoonish. The game mechanic is fun and makes for a relaxing experience.

Would be more fun to play if you didn't get repeats of animals that you already had full hearts for. You should be able to get the animals from the top from the gold eggs instead of getting common animals.

This is such a cute wee app. It's easy to learn, and well made. It's easy to get lost in while playing. My new favourite. I'm off to pet my lizard 😁

Pretty fun game, I like how you can focus on blasting through the levels or on getting the farthest you can on each level or both.

This game is fun and the artstlye us very appealing. Altho is very annoying that when u open an egg theres a chance to pet the animale that is already full hearts which makes progress somewhat slower.

It a fun game for every age. It took my grandson to show me how to play lol but after that I really started enjoying it. Would recommend.
