Pocket Lathe Gears
Pocket Lathe Gears calculates change gear and quick-change gearbox settings for any particular thread you wish to cut on a lathe.
It will also allow you to work out what gear you need, to be able to cut a particular thread i.e it can find the gear that you are missing.
Works with both metric and imperial lathes.
Compatible with ARMv7 devices running KitKat (Android 4.4), Jelly Bean (Android 4.1.x, 4.2.x, 4.3.x), Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0.3 and 4.0.4) and Gingerbread (Android 2.3.3 – 2.3.7, API Level 10).

You can do better with an excel file viewed on your phone. Horrible UI, slow calculations doesn't even have enough spots to store my stack of change gears for my SB9C.

My lathe has gear positions A thru F. This app will only calculate positions A thru D. 5 stars if it could accommodate more gear positions.
Nice app to calculate screwcutting gears on lathe. 2 suggestions to make app more user friendly. 1) the quick change gear box ratios should have an option to clear all ratios and 2) make the columns in the calculated gear box combos sortable.
It crashing pls help
Same happened to me on samsung s4, calculated 4600 combinations but then crashed, shame because it could be a very useful app for me,gonna hang on to it and install updates or bug fixes when they are available,l and hopefully all will be good.
Entered a long list of available gears, asked it to calculate those needed and the app froze with no possible ratios for thread required. Had to kill the app to do anything else with my phone, and that lost all my gears I had input. Increasing the acceptable error didn't help, app still froze.
The concept of this app is really good, but unfortunately it doesn't support my phone Asus Xenfone 6 with Kitkat 4.4.2 Can anyone help in this regard?
Very poor UI for editing quick-change gearbox ratios...needs a way to delete all the pre-configured entities (as their presence makes the app useless). Otherwise, it does what it sets out to do.
