Pocket Raga - Full Version

Pocket Raga provides accompaniment music from a tabla, tanpura and a shruti box for Indian-style vocalists, instrumentalists and musicians. Serious students can use this app as a helpful tool for riyaz, or casual singers can use this to practice their rhythm and fine tune their pitch.
All of the music samples were recorded in-studio by professional musicians and are exclusive to this application. Care has been taken to ensure the highest quality audio playback, including non-destructive tempo and pitch shifting.

This is a very basic app. The sounds are very plain and I'm not very happy to have paid for it. The reason I paid was because I thought the developers would improve the app with time. Unfortunately, the app has remained the same all through these years with no updates. You can check the free version and that's exactly how it sounds. Also, a basic functionality like the numbers playing according to tabla beats is also not present. If I'm given the option again, I will not pay for this app.

I bought the paid version because I was quite impressed with the demo version. Concert mode was a nice feature. However, the sound quality of the instruments could be much better. Especially so for the tabla: it has too much bass. It sounds bad on the speaker. Also, the 1st string of tanpura should be louder. Hope you resolve these issues in the updates soon...then I will surely give 5 stars :)

Decent app. Has a good number of taals. The instrument sound quality is decent to bad. The tabla sounds really weird at some pitches. Sounds decent for A#, so that works for me. Your mileage may vary. The sound quality can be problematic with teentaal, where dha and dhin can be indistinguishable. Traka isn't nice. Settings reset at startup. No lehra support. Best in the market though. Right it's good enough to practice vocals with, for me. Try out the demo and see if it works for you before purchasing

Have bought this App. But the quality of sound, consistency of laya, options nothing makes me happy. Can't use it accompaniment during practice. RiyazStudio in windows is much better, unfortunately they to don't have an Android version

Great features for a little app! Tabla sound is very authentic but needs a stronger "Sam"; tends to hide away in the loop. Could also use some 8 and 14 beat bhajan taals. Tanpura feels low def.. Not rich enough. Most importantly, doesn't allow to be moved to SD card! Needs urgent fixing!

Can be used instead of electric tabla and tanpura by simply connecting your device to some external speakers.. Another app - Ishala is much better than pocket raga but if we compare the price pocket raga is better .

It's the most beautiful app I have ever come across. It's simply perfect for Indian classical music enthusiasts and musicians in this field, who can now practice their (do rewaz) vocals with tanpura and tabla anytime, anywhere, even while traveling! I cannot imagine my life without this app anymore. Heartiest gratitude and a zillion thanks for creating and maintaining this app! You guys rock!

I have been getting error which shows -24. In past 8 months or so I am mailing them for support and there's no response fron the makers. I dont have any interest in getting refund what I am pissed off with they dont even acknowledge customers mails.

Works Reliably Except for the Odd Occasion It Hangs. Lots of Choice In Taals/Raags. I Recommend It.

This App is excellent and deserves 5 star rating, but since Bhajani theka is not included in the tabala , I will give 4 stars to it. Waiting for an update from the app designer

There have been no updates on this app since 3 years. More Taal should be added. And there should be an option to save multiple combinations of speed and Taal.

Thank you so much maker. You have done a great job. This app is so useful. Just loving it. Kindly add time and lehra feature as well.

I use the paid version. Relatively simple app and does the job for me. For tabla, I use external speakers with an additional bass speaker and the sound is good. Tanpura sound is nice enough directly from the phone without speakers. Some additional features such as being able to control the volume of tanpura strings individually will be nice.

See , I cant compare this app with apple tanpura tabla n all. But at this very cheap price point this app is best then enough.. For practicing its better... Taals like Sooltaal could also be added and swarmandal too. So it would be great. We are waiting.

one and only app that fulfills my purpose of having tanpura+taal. very interactive and easy-to-use interface. nothing could be better.

Har. P. Oct 8, 2016

The app is very good for bansuri learner but request to add beat counts from 1 to 16. So that would help for beginners. There is a good space in the middle of home screen

Hi, I found this app useful for daily practice. In the full version I observed the following issue: If I close the app and open again, or if I minimize this app, the Taal style always chanes from 'Madhya' to 'Vilambit' for teentaal. Please resolve this issue as soon as possible. Otherwise this is a great app. Thanks.

Ant. T. Apr 23, 2014

Everything is good. Please add the possibility to set pitch choosing it from the list. The same for tempo, volume, etc. Currently the controls are inconvinient.

Tar. S. Aug 19, 2014

Its good. Tanpura needs more bass and tabla is mor like tak tak... I m using it on 5.1 surround sound even then it feels very light and empty. Tabla needs lot of improvement
