Pocket Thesaurus

Generally speaking, it's efficient, even though the layout could be improved (for instance, having all the synonyms listed with bullet points instead of in a block of text). However, having to pay a monthly subscription instead of a one-off payment (even if it is cheap) is frustrating, and because of that, I've decided to not use this app.

Increasing my knowledge in regards to the English language is primarily the reason I downloaded this software, as well as being able to provide information using synonymous words, as opposed to the same word repeatedly. Great app! Thank you.

This app is easy to use, simple to navigate, and easy to understand. I know exactly what type of results to expect without requiring to hunt for it. I can't recommend this app high enough! Stick with this 'cos it's the best by far.

Highlighting the word and tapping on the function (floating thesaurus function) does not work on Oppo Reno 5 5G. Yet the popup works on Oppo Reno which is an older model. I suspect there is a compatibility issue which is a shame. Really liked using this app.

Convenient and efficient. The app is completely offline, takes up very little storage, and it's GUI is extremely user-friendly. Based on my experience with the app, I genuinely cannot find any reason not to rate it five stars. The library of words is massive, and the bookmark feature is useful. The Floating Thesaurus feature makes for convenient and efficient searches. The history feature just puts the cherry on top by not letting my searches disappear if I need another word.

What happened??? I've used this app for years. I absolutely love it...... But it quit working two weeks ago. It doesn't launch. I've erased it and downloaded it numerous times but it doesn't help. I re-download it today (6-19-20) in hopes that it's fixed but it is not. I cannot find another app as good as this was. The new version did not fix the issue. As I stated, I re-download it today... same date as above... and it does not open.

One of the very best free ad-supported Android thesauri! (I'd use a bunch of adjectives to describe it, but it'd be obvious I was just making a thesaurus joke.) The beta version includes a handy Dark Mode option, but still starts up with an all-white screen that can be useful for finding keyholes and other things that require only a brief, dazzling flash of light. Just be sure to point your phone away from your eyes in low-light settings if you don't want to be blinded—no synonym is worth it.

I instantly recognized this as an excellent thesaurus app. It's easy to both use and understand, and it's convenient. However, I couldn't stand the appearance of the icon. The image of a book jammed into a sweaty front jeans pocket is not appealing. This is a criticism not of the designer's Photoshop skills but of the designer's concept. Other objects have pockets--folders, for example.

I like the app, very informative. My only gripe is you have to back through every screen to exit. So if you look up a lot of words, pressing the back button on your phone will take you back through every word you looked up before you finally exit the app. Fix this and I will gladly pay for the ad-free version. Regarding your response, maybe add a back button within the app to see previous words. BTW, telling a potential customer they don't make sense is not a very effective marketing strategy.

This app stated. "Contants ads" i was looking for what that ment in the reviews but didn't see it, so im doing it myself. This app has a small banner at the bottom for an ad. This ad cannot be removed, but doesn't interfere with the function of the app. So far i've experienced no pop ups, but i've only had the app for a short amount of time.

As a writer, I really needed this!! Thank you!! Although something that annoys me is the fact that a notification pops up about it for no reason, then dissappears immediately afterwards. Also, the pop up thesaurus feature doesn't work on some apps (Specifically JotterPad, which is where I write). I hope this helped!

I can annotate now. (I'd like to come back and write a fresher review but it seems that is usually not allowed.) I went to watch the YouTube video and was stymied by its playback. I could not read comments, if any, and they had portrait mode set into a landscape playback. I guess it's a glitch from updating the YouTube application. On my six inch phone I could barely read and follow the video. So far two stars was all I could muster. I'm a tough grader of applications. Thanks.

I have no problems with Pocket Thesaurus. As a writer, this is extremely helpful. There is still a bit of room for improvement, though; I would appreciate it if the app could recommend more complex words. Apps like Orphic help with that, but skipping between apps is a bit of a hassle. Other than that, keep up the great work!

the app is great overall but, it just all of a sudden started crashing on me and i got really sad edit: i planned on editing my rating after the issue has fixed, i dont know if it was my android that was acting up causing the app to suddenly not work anymore for me. because i honestly enjoy the app whenever i want to add flavor to my books or just to learn new ways of saying a certain word and the fact that i can use it offline is incredible!

AWESOME. Simply great and simple. Yet, it's ultra complete for almost no ads. If I could pay a dollar I would.

It's an often useful app. though I can't understand why there's a word of the day option and not one for the word of the week. Irksome. Relative to your response: Thank you. I'll engage the option. 6/9/20 - For the past 10 hours since the update the app. continues to stop even when not in use; regardless of what I'm doing with the phone I continually get a message saying the app. has stopped. Should this continue I'll have to uninstall.

So much easier to use than pulling up Google each time. Good suggestions, not intrusive apps. Has a dark mode and good settings.

I really like that it is available offline. Makes my life so much easier as a Sci Fi published author who's on the go and WiFi isn't always easy to find (don't have data since the cost). The one problem I am running into is the fact the dark theme only works in the settings menu. This was another "selling point" that appealed to me so much and I'm sad it's not working.

Yes I dont like the adds but how else are they gana bank on this besides the Premium yah know. So I totally understand have NO PROBLEMS with the app. Love the word of the day, you can play audio on how to pronounce it correctly, you have antonyms and synonyms, and you can click on the links and learn another word instantly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Does what it promises. Exactly as described. ADs are unobtrusive. Brings up exact same results as web thesaurus, but offline. Being able to click on words in results to see their meanings, synonyms and antonyms makes this app so convenient. Awesome! A must have writing tool. Super light, compact and nicely laid out.

Disappointed. Its American spelling. Try looking up colour. Maybe it could have both spellings and show them, noting which is which. I've nothing against our friends across the pond spelling. Often it makes more phonetic sense, but let's not forget the purpose of having downloaded this app is for meanings, spelling even though it has some nifty extra functions thrown in. But if it ain't got the word in UK 🇬🇧 English then it's not much use to us in the UK 🇬🇧. Hope the Developers sort it. 👌

This app has helped me for years in not only writing but in daily life. I'm sorry for all the people that haven't been able to get it working properly, but honestly I don't think I've had a problem with it at all. One had it on more than there devices and they all worked perfectly fine, and I think the words of the day/week help me expand on my vocabulary and writing skills. So the sincerest thank you to whoever made this app :)

This app is everything you'd ever want from a pocket thesaurus although some of the words aren't closely related but I guess it depends on the term of use... Whether it is metaphorical or just slang. It also has feautures like when you highlight a word the app shows up which is helpful if you don't want to reopen the app to copy it.

Having 3 ways to open thesaurus is ingenious because it bypasses modified context menu from other apps. For example, Google Lens only has copy text. If Share is only available, you can still use a copy capability from another app for floating. I suggest greying out foreground, extended, and copy search before the user turns on floating. Allow closing float by swiping. Add a FAB w/ magnifier icon that selects the search text box. Bookmarks and History below search box should be buttons instead.

Very well put together and easy to use, thanks! To further it,Please make an app or add, replace grammar with combined search words into one word that means both. I like the *idea searching now just to combine the power of that and more words then phaser the search string to find hits on multi words that are said with one word. Like very good is excellent or fantastic or terrific. And things are wonderful could be spectacular or wonderous or stupendous or enchanting. Your app has much potential!

This has been the most simple to use thesaurus app that I've downloaded. Though there are ads on the page, they are not intrusive and rarely detract from my searches. I've used a few other apps for thesaurus but this one by far keeps the experience simple and easy.
