PocketBible Bible Study

Having the same issue as Michael Porter... That last Android update is causing direct navigation to freeze the app. However, I've found that you can use the search to plug the book, chapter, verse and you'll get there. Hope the bug is fixed soon. I've been using the app for 20+ years and it's the best there is!

I have used this app for many years on several different platforms, starting with a PDA. It was well worth taking the platinum package with lots of Bibles and commentaries. Full functionality make searching, navigating, and switching between books easy. No app will do all you want the way you want, but this one comes close. New add-ons frequently released.

I have been using three different versions of PocketBible: Windows Store, Windows PC, and an Android tablet version. I have a Galaxy SkyPro phone which gets filled up quickly. Over the last few days, I installed PocketBible on my phone and to my surprise the app allows you to choose where to store all of the Bibles, commentaries, dictionaries, with an option to store them on my SD card. The app is quicker than any of my other Bible apps, has a great user interface, and is highly customizable!

I have had this app for close to 20 years. It is seamless from one devise to the next. Over the years I have accumulated many books, some purchased, some were giveaways, that follow without ever a problem. The Pocket Bible easily followed me from Android to Apple as well as back and forth within the multitude of different devices at one time. My own notes and highlights show in all my Bible versions. This is one of the few apps that is close to perfect!

Exceptionally inuitive to use. I've been using this app for almost 20 years now. I've used other Bible apps during the same time and by far, this is my favorite that I use every day. I especially like having all my notes, bookmarks, and highlights synced in the cloud so I can access them on any device I'm using. One feature I'd like to have is the ability to highlight individual words in Bibles and devotionals.

Years ago, I bought the Advanced Feature Set which was a one time lifetime purchase on all my devices. Paid $7.99 for my Windows device, $7.99 for my Android device. They have revoked all Advanced Features, and now require $17.99 per year subscription to get it on all my devices. Sorry, but bait and switch makes me upset. I enjoyed those features, but I will NOT use software that has me pay up front for a lifetime of use, then later says I need to keep paying in perpetuity. I will never purchase anything from Laridian again. I'm uninstalling and off to find new software.

I have been using pocket Bible for over 15 years. It has had declined severely in it's usability and user friendliness. Compared to what it used to be, it's sad. You used to be able to do many things that are no longer available, such as embedded notes within a verse, partial hi-lites of certain words within a verse, partial underlines of certain words. I miss what it used to be.

my app works great, but after some time, always a different space of time, my app stops working correctly, and there is nothing left to do but install it. It doesn't matter that I have registered before, all of my notes, bookmarks, and library is gone, and I have to start over. Very frustrating.

I love this app! Any books you purchase for it, you buy once and own forever! You can download them on multiple formats for devices you own including desktop, tablets, phones, etc. They keep up with the times, so that books I purchased years ago are still available today in formats that didn't even exist then! The selection of study materials is huge. You can't go wrong with this app!

The App itself works well. My only criticism, is with the split screen. On a phone, having the screen split makes reading quite awkward. Rather than splitting the screen, having separate bibles on separate pages, with the ability to swipe between pages would be more ideal.

Navigating the PocketBible application is difficult on my Android device. However, once you become familiar with the software it becomes more manageable. Thanks for allowing me to keep all my previously owned books. Great job. I anticipate the next upgrade.

I had lost the Lower Action Bar after upgrading to a Samsung Tab A / Android 10. The fix offered by Allen of Landrian tech support: Go to the Settings app and choose Display, then Navigation bar. Switch to Full screen gestures instead of Navigation buttons. Choose More options and decide how you'd like to swipe. Kudos to Allen, thank you!!

I absolutely LOVED Pocket Bible on iOS. However, I find it really hard to navigate on my new Android. The tool bar is hard to find, and when I do stumble upon it (still not sure how that happens), I can't find the search option. PLEASE HELP!!!! Because I have years and years of study and research in my account.

Could be the best Bible app out there. Everything about this app is so clean and fluid. I absolutely love it. The only thing that forces me into using other apps for study however is the poorly organized bookmarks here. I don't understand why you insist on separating out the bookmarks between verses even when I highlight multiples as a single unit. Please fix this issue and this can become my main study app for the Bible.

I've been a Pocket Bible user since Windows Mobile OS going back to the Pocket PC days however this app is incredible difficult to use to the point that I can no longer use it or recommend it to others despite the fact that I have invested in the library of different versions, commentaries and resources. It appears the last update had been done in quite some time and shoes me that the dev is not interested in making it better and thus I am unfortunately moving on.

They don't seem to care about making corrections. For instance the "red letters" in the NASB aren't always correct, block quotes in the CSV don't terminate correctly, LORD has and extra space after it in the CSV throwing off punctuation. All of these have been pointed out long ago with no response or correction. It's a shame because otherwise it's a nice cross platform solution.

It's really good. You can easily switch between translations without loosing your place. You don't need to be connected to the internet and there are no adds. The only adds you will get are emails advertising other books to install.

I find this the easiest way to go through a reading plan on a phone, because in Split Screen you just tap the link in your plan, & in your other screen your Scriptures get highlighted (so you know where to start & stop reading). And you can choose many OFFLINE versions. PB has 1, 2, & 3-year through-the-Bible plans, several free or paid Bible versions, plus other books. Nice selection of eye-easing themes too.

very helpful I find this program very helpful. I like having a bible in my pocket at all times for reference. I like that I can use even when I am not online. I love the search feature which allows me to find any verse I want, and I love the fact that when I get a new device I can load all of my purchased content it. Great program, I've been using it on multiple devices for over ten years.

Laridian Pocketbible is an astounding tool! It works much like some well known programs out there! you can stop at the free version and enjoy a library of free Bibles & books, Bible reading plans, devotions, etc...or you can expand your library at your own pace, preference and need! Includes multiple screen splitting (commentaries, devotionals, dictionaries, and other resources can automatically scroll along with where u are reading in the Bible). Highlighting, notes, bookmarks...5 Stars!

Easy to use and i like the fact that you buy once and own forever. The cloud storage is awesome as well for swapping out books on your phone. Keep up the great work. The app works flawlessly on android and windows devices that I own and sync with the cloud.

I agree with the previous post, it is a priceless tool! When I decided to read Spurgeon's reading before facing the day, it was nice to have it on the phone wherever I was. With my new tablet though, I can't seem to get my notes on my new installed version. I would be happy to pay again, just because it's more than worth it, but I have no idea how to connect my new device install with my previous download and notes. Any hints welcome. THANK YOU

I used pocket Bible on my old zire 72 PDA and was always satisfied with the ease of use and the easy-to-navigate GUI. No I have downloaded the updated version on my Android phone and it's working very well I am pleased with the product.

After spending quite a lot of money, including purchasing a number of packs, I have tried a number of times to retrieve my ID number. My original email server shut down without warning. After no response from the developer, I don't recommend this app to anyone.

I would have given you 5 before you removed the tool bar at the bottom of the page. Now you aren't any different from other Bible apps. You were my favorite by far because if the ability to go forward to and back to scripture I was studying. Now I have to keep a pen and tablet to write down each place I read so I know to get back to it.

Fantastic software... was using the Windows phone edition first, so the Android edition tool some getting used to. But overall very happy with GUI and extensive content available. Thanks, and highly recommended!

Came from the app for Windows 10 (both desktop and mobile). Very different interaction on Android. Miss the single button to max the current screen (when in a split screen setup in the app).
